Thanks BA. Those were great little snippits. Glad to hear everyone's so positive about a future for Farscape and that Ben and Claudia are really enjoying their work on SG-1. They certainly had nothing but good things to say about the cast and crew of Stargate.

But I can't believe some thoughtless poster somewhere said that Claud should have a bag over her head! Aside from being, IMHO, totally off-base. That was just thoughtless, mean and hurtful. Jeez! And she saw it! Good thing she's such a good sport and seemed to shrug it off pretty easily. But come on, people. These guys have feelings, too, ya know.

Well, Claudia's response was a funny one. I'm sure every actresss is used to negative comments of one sort or another, especially in regards to their appearance, which is a sad state of affairs. That doesn't make it right but CB obviously doesn't take these things too seriously and went so far as to say, in effect, get it right, Aussie wise.

I agree that the comment was both tasteless and TOTALLY off base! But I have heard/read plenty of negative stuff about Hillary Swank, Nicole Kidman and other actresses of their stature so no one is immune.

Those were very enjoyable interviews and it's nice to see that an established show like SG1 takes in newcomers so graciously.

It is good to know they were both welcomed with open arms as we all could of expected as the stargate are just great. But i would like to see a farscape movie and not star wars series.

Ben and Claudia are lovely, although I thought they both looked a little tired. Of course they still look gorgeous. It's so nice to see them both recognized for the miniseries. Claudia especially seemed excited. So yay! for Farscape.

However....maybe it's just me.....but unfortunately I didn't find anything in this that helped alleviate my general concerns about S9 of SG-1.

I wanted to hear that Ben loved playing his new character, that he was excited about the S9 storyline. Instead I'm just hearing that he enjoys working with the cast and crew on Stargate - "good fun" as Ben said. Ben did say "fantastic show". Unfortunately he was talking about BSG, not SG-1.

Ben was recognized at Saturns earlier, it's his second individual Saturn Award (and RDA lost to him twice ), the first time was after Farscape's Season 3. I'm extremely happy for Claudia that she FINALLY (it was her 5th nomination!) got Saturn

Oh, I know. I saw the clips. Perfectly understandable - in fact I should have said "understandably tired".

I think Ben is adorable and am always pleased to see him recognized. I suspect RDA's not missing the Saturns sitting on his mantel

As am I. As much as I like Ben, I really think Claudia is the better actor and it's nice to see her get the award.

I agree. Ben is awesome but Claudia WAS Aeryn Sun. It was like they found Aeryn in Australia somewhere and said "hey, wanna do this show?" And when you see Claudia in RL, interviews, etc, you realize she is not like Aeryn at all, whereas Ben does have some of Crichton running through his veins

And I wouldn't get too worried about the quality of season 9 based on Ben's comments. I think he was VERY tired, not quite as jazzed as Claudia Black was (she seemed a bit more alert), and likely they're kind of limited as to what they can reveal. He may have been slightly more forthcoming with Farscape stuff in the past, but then again, he was an integral part of the show. With SG1, he's a cog in a rather well oiled wheel.

One thing we all should be grateful for is that Ben is a SciFi fan as well as a consummate professional and has himself watched a lot of SG-1. Having a good understanding of the characters and general themes should make it easier for him to transition into an established show.

At first they wanted to cast Aeryn from England. Claudia was on set helping other actors reading their parts and one of casting directors suggested that she would be great as Aeryn. Watch Aeryn's profile at Season 1's DVD (interview with Claudia, plus comments from Brian Henson), Brian Henson said there that they had in mind completely different Aeryn, but as Brian said "you watch Claudia 10 seconds and you can't stop"

I agree but I also elevate that statement to being for Ben also... he WAS John Crichton. Yes, little elements do remind you of Ben the man, but as his wife Fran says... 'she fell a little in love with John Crichton who is so different from the man she loves at home'. Don't forget that the studios and original idea was for the character to be gung-ho, out and out, gun-blazing All-American hero and questioned Ben's audition where he portrayed Crichton as confused, out-of-place, totally out of depth situation.
This was his, correct, acting take and choice. Ben brings more depth and acting choices to the role than so many seem to credit him for. I don't feel that you can rate one over the other as actors.

Crux of the matter is, that both Claudia and Ben assumed the mantle of these characters, had amazing working chemistry and you can imagine no-one else playing them. Well-deserved awards indeed

I agree. I've always been hugely impressed with Ben's acting talent and pesonally I hate when people compare the acting of Ben and Claudia. They both won Saturns, and in fact it's Ben's second Saturn. This tells me they're both darn good at what they do. I can't wait to see them turn their talent to SG-1!
