    Default Kusanagi (spoilerish)

With The Gift following right after Letters from Pegasus, many people have assumed the Japanese scientist in LFP is the Dr. Kusanagi mentioned in The Gift.

I was just wondering if anyone else thinks it's possible the Asian-American woman in Siege, part 2, might be Kusanagi. Most non military personnel had been gated to the Alpha site by the time Carson mentioned Dr. Kusanagi, and since we actually saw the Asian-American lady after that point, I just thought it's possible she's Kusanagi.

Joe also said we'd see more of her.

Yay! She was so hilarious And she was definitely Japanese not Asian-American (like Fanwoman wrote). She had the Japanese patch on her uniform.

    Thanks for the info.

Ah-ha! I'd wondered why my search of the forum for Kusanagi didn't give me that when I looked before posting this thread. In the thread Joe Mallozzi responds to, it's not spelled Kusanagi, and he doesn't offer the correct spelling.

    Yay a Kusanagi thread!
I'm so happy we get to see more of her (and pleased Joe answered my question on that matter...)
Someone I know (forgot who) mentioned for LFP she was listed as Miko.
And I looked it up, here it is.

It's under the 'Did you now?'. Made me smile.

Betcha she wouldn't mind being McKay's ancient chair guinea pig. Maybe she keeps bugging Beckett to let her have a go instead of him hogging all of McKay's time.

^ What was it Beckett said? "She'd be more than happy" to help?

Miko Kusanagi, hug? Me thinks someone likes their Japanese mythology.

Though my name dictionary doesn't even offer it as a personal name (that's why one dictionary is never enough), the name Miko can be made up of a variety of different kanji (idograms). The word "miko," as opposed to the name, means "shrine maiden." Combined with the mythically significant Kusanagi, it's an interesting choice.

I would also love to see more of Kusanagi or any individuals of non-Caucasian backgrounds. It does give a lot more credibility to the "international" part of the expedition.
I really enjoyed the way parts of her video message was cut away to show these hilarious flashbacks of Rodney being Rodney... That was a nice touch.

    That's cute! Thanks, Purpleyin!
    DID YOU KNOW...?

Dr. Rodney McKay has a secret admirer on Atlantis. She is a very sweet Asian scientist named Miko. She doesn't stand much of a chance though: As he reveals in his recorded message to humanity, he prefers blondes with short hair. In fact, he still carries a torch for a certain lieutenant colonel at Stargate Command….

It's very odd that they don't bother to give the character a last name in the actual creidts (which are so friggin tough to read becuase Scifi values pushing Battlestar Galactica more than letting folks read credits for SGA). Sigh.
