First of all I wish to appologize beforehand for the slight chance that I sound insulting or what so ever. I do not mean to do so.

I really like Stargate Atlantis and I think that the story of the show has been thought out really well. I like Sam as a replacement for Dr. Weir, she is really a great leader. I wish she wouldn't have to be replaced by Richard Woolsey, but then again, it might just make for a nice change in the show again, I am not sure. I might be a bit concerned about how the regime on Atlantis is going to change now that the IOA is going to run it... if it's really going to happen like McKay explained in 'The Last Man' then I wonder if the show will be even fun to watch. But then again, this is Woolsey we're talking about, he is the most likely to budge and let the people of Atlantis do whatever they please.
As for Dr. Keller... no... to be honest I can't really see her as a Main Character on the show. Not to talk her down in any way, I wouldn't really do that, but she is just way too serious and way too scared to be a CMO. She constantly says 'I don't know' and wishes to run into hiding. I don't really think you can build a character on that. Okay, I do enjoy the fact that she has a relationship with Ronon and all and I think that it would be fun to see how things work out between her and McKay (oh and Ronon, seeing as they never officially broke up or anything...) but to be honest, that is pretty much all I like about Dr. Keller.
Once again, I don't have anything against Jewel Staite personally, I liked her as the Wraith girl Ellia (although at the time I didn't even know it was her, not until I read the interview ) and I've never seen any other movie with her in it, so yeah... she might be a great person in acting, but I just think that she doesn't bring the neccesary humor into the show. She just seems to stress the point that they are in a dangerous environment and that they are all in danger.
Well anyway, we'll see how it works out, right? Maybe in this new season we will see her in a new light or something, who knows, maybe I'll even start to like her a little.
There is only one thing that really bugged me about the interview.
Martin Gero said, and I quote: "I know she definitely has her detractors still, because of the whole Carson thing. If that had never existed I think she would be a universally admired character."
I don't really agree to this. Mr. Gero pretty much says that Dr. Keller isn't appreciated because all the Carson fans do not wish to see her as a good person. Now I have to admit that I am a Carson fan and I am somewhat hurt that he thinks that way because I did an honest attempt to like Dr. Keller, but I just found it really hard to do so. I admit I would like to see Carson back for a really long time, but I do not wish for him to replace Dr. Keller in any way. What I would like to see is that Carson tries to show Dr. Keller that not everything is scary and that it's ok to have fun every once in a while.
In general, I would just like to state out that not all Carson fans are the same and that the fact that Dr. Keller isn't 'universally admired' is not only because of the Carson fans, but also because of the fact that she somewhat lacks the 'humor' or something like that. She just appears too weak and whiney.

Now, again I appologise if this message is insulting or whatever, I just wanted to state out my opinion. Stargate Atlantis is a great TV-show and I hope it will continue for years after today, keep up the good work!

Hi *subrosa* !
I don't come generally in general thread because I haven't great things to say but I saw your post and I wanted to react.
I agree with youI don't think the problem is Carson, I wasn't particularly an huge fan of Carson I love him but he wasn't my fav. So I haven't a priori when Keller came ad yet I'm not a big fan either of Keller. First because I love the core team of the 4 and 2 because I think she appeared a lot more than what we thought. I like her I find her fun and even nice but too much is sometimes difficult to enjoy. She seemed a main cast in S4 while she was yet only a regular and she had a lot of story or things that we are waiting since a long time for other characters, from who we are fans and I think we feel a little cheated that a new character gain so much screen time.
I hope too that what I said isn't a critic because what I saw on the show was good for the character for me but she knew a lot of advertising (? sorry I'm not english and I don't speak it really well) which personally disturbed me.
So I wanted to answer you I don't think you were critic and I think I understood what you mean.
