Thank you, GateWorld and Brad Wright, for taking the time to provide this interview.
Looking forward to part two ... and of course, to Stargate: Continuum!

I prefer Rob Cooper much more. In RCC's case we know that we can TRUST him about not screwing up Vala/Claudia Black's fans. In Brad Wright's case it's pretty obvious that the screwing up is guaranteed.

Well I think that is a subjective thing Since many fans of Sam & Jack feel they can't trust RCC to write that story line at all but would stand on hot coals for Brad Wright to write it .
I believe that all writers have characters that they are better at writing than others. So RCC may very well be alot better at writing Vala then Brad is.
However, While you have voiced your opinion of Brad's performance as a showrunner and writer in that indirectly. The rest is really off topic here AND definitely seems out of place considering that Brad's interview really had nothing to do with Vala or Claudia Black or even RCC.
If you want to discuss BW's viewpoint on who and what he feels is essential to SG and the SG Universe then I can see having a little bit different conversation while also pointing out that BW was very clear to state what he was saying was his opinion.

Re: INTERVIEW: Brad Wright (Executive Producer)
After this interview Brad Wright is now my favorite Stargate producer. Some quotes I liked:
"For me, an SG-1 movie should include O'Neill. That's how I feel about Stargate."
"Is it likely we'll ever get them all again? That's kind of unlikely, just because of the math. But our core folks, I will move heaven and earth to get them if I can. I think that Jack and Daniel and Carter and Teal'c, and Mitchell now, to a certain extent, and Landry now, to a certain extent, are part of the fabric of SG-1. And fans will get mad at me if I don't put them in it."
The guy knows what the fans want and he also holds in account realistic limitation. That's a good producer right there. We're truly lucky to have him in charge of the movies.

Re: INTERVIEW: Brad Wright (Executive Producer)
Darren,
On Part 2, the audio download only runs for about 10 seconds and then cuts off. Happen on both listening online and downloading the file.
Excellent interview -- thank you so much for the transcript! And thank you, David and Brad for your time with the interview.

Re: INTERVIEW: Brad Wright (Executive Producer)
i'm really curious (and a bit anxious) on what changes are going to be made to 'children of the gods'. i'm so hoping no sam carter scenes are being deleted.
and can the 'continuum' wait take any longer?!?
nice interview.

I think the changes are mostly to do with the nudity and the implantation scene.
For me I wouldn't mind in the slightest if they cut the Carter line about her reproductive organs being on the inside, makes me cringe every time I hear it.

Meh. She had a point. And they took care of that line in Moebius when Geeky!Sam commented about not actually saying that line to someone. Though that she even thought it was a hilarious parallel.
Yeah, Brad said the nudity was going. I'm looking forward to this tighter movie with more appropriate music. The pilot did what it had to do in introducing the Stargate universe, but it wasn't a great bit of storytelling. But the promise was there, enough to go on with.
Looks like they will do previous season bloopers too! Yay!
Good interview!
