Re: SGA - SciFi Wire: SciFi Channel Official Season 4 Ratings
So is this good that SGA was in the top 3? I could of sworn SGA had more viewers than Eureka.

It's good that it's in to top three, but bad that SciFi viewership is down in general.

Hopefully they don't cancel because they would lose a ton more viewers!

This just proves a point that DVR is being a major factor. It's not just SGA that is hurting, it's everyone. It is very realistic that SGA has about a 0.2 to 0.3 rating DVR dropoff from the Season 3 premiere to the Season 4 premiere. Heck it was about 15 months ago, DVR had more than doubled almost tripled in overall households from July 2006 to Now.

I'm shocked! It had a higher rating than ECW!
Far as I remember, that usually never happens. That changes things a bit.

I know right!! Also, This is what drives me crazy, look at Eureka!!! A 1.2! Come on SGA is not doing bad to the risk of being cancelled.
It truly is a different ballgame when you look at the overall network. No matter what show Sci-fi puts out, it's not going to see numbers above a 1.5 during this season anymore.

LOL, yes that can be in my dreams, but the ratings bump speculation needs to be a reality.

Eureka has been pulling about 1.7 this whole season and has consistently been SciFi's #1 show. Last week it was up against "House", which got a 10.7, and a 1.2 against that kind of competition seems to be better than SGA's 1.2 against a weaker Friday lineup - "Numbers" won the 10:00 p.m. Friday slot with a 6.2.

What about 20/20 and Las Vegas? Plus Friday is the most DVR'd day and 10pm is the most DVR'd time slot.

Exactly. It's not doing bad at all. It is up against tough competition not to mention SGA an scifi being in the top dvr'd list.

Is it me but does that top 10 seem to keep falling in average as the weeks go by? I've never seen that many 0.7's before.

Well I was hoping 1.2 but since Adrift's 1.2 went to 1.4 I bet this will go to 1.3 or 1.4. So still holding steady and hmmm Flash Gordon ain't even in top 10. Even more reason for SGA to get season 5.

Being in the top 5 is also a good sign. Plus ECW is supposed to be ending on Sci-fi, and Eureka's 1.4 was their big season finale.

True but ECW was a waste of space in the first place.

Here's a recap of the ratings that Flash Gordon has pulled in:
From SciFi Wire:
http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php
Source: Nielsen Galaxy Report, 8/6/07 -- 8/12/07
Flash Gordon 1.5 - Premiere
Source: Nielsen Galaxy Report, 8/13/07 -- 8/19/07
Flash Gordon didn't make it to the top ten. For info, the lowest rated show that week on the top ten list was Disaster Zone at 1.0
Source: Nielsen Galaxy Report, 08/20/07 - 08/26/07
Flash Gordon 0.8
Source: Nielsen Galaxy Report, 8/27/07 -- 9/2/07
Flash Gordon didn't make it to the top ten. For info, the lowest rated show that week on the top ten list was Android Apocalypse at 0.9.
Source: Nielsen Galaxy Report, 9/3/07 -- 9/9/07
Flash Gordon didn't make it to the top ten. For info, the lowest rated show that week on the top ten list was Beast of Bray Road at 0.8.
Source: Nielsen Galaxy Report, 9/10/07 -- 9/16/07
Flash Gordon at 0.8
Source: Nielsen Galaxy Report, 9/17/07 -- 9/23/07
Flash Gordon didn't make it to the top ten. For info, the lowest rated show that week on the top ten list was The Stand part two at 1.0.
Source: Nielsen Galaxy Report, 9/24/07 -- 9/30/07
Flash Gordon at 0.7.
Source: Nielsen Galaxy Report, 10/1/07 -- 10/07/07
Flash Gordon didn't make it to the top ten. For info, the lowest rated show that week on the top ten list was Marabunta at 0.8.
So...out of NINE weeks of reported ratings, Flash Gordon has only made it on the top ten list FOUR times - with a high rating of 1.5, and a low rating of .07. -- which gives the series an average rating of 0.95.
Now, I've seen on the internet articles mentioning that this show only gets a micro-portion of the budget that the SciFi Channel allotted to BSG (and quite frankly, it shows in EVERY detail).
But still...
I'm not going to guess here what I think the SciFi Channel is thinking.
Life is too short.
