Creation Con Chicago, Aug 25-27 2006
I had to start a thread for next year's convention since the first official guest has been announced and it is none other than........ CLIFF SIMON!! That's right, Baal will be in Chicago! Woo-hoo!! I am soooooo there!

I so hope I am able to come, especially if I have to miss Vancouver. Hell I'll probably come even if I do hit up Vancouver, if only to see the talented Vala. I may not be in love with Vala as much as Kerri as, but I'll be whooping it up right beside her!

And Claudia has cancelled her confirmation, though I think that means she might still show, she just doesn't want it set in stone.
Still no MS or CJ though, so I'm still holding out that they'll sign soon. After all, MS cited the same reasons (scheduling conflict) for pulling out of Vancouver, and he re-signed for that one last week so...

I don't think you will see Claudia at any con this year. I think with her addition to season 10 of Stargate and her other personal "commitments" she is going to cut any con appearances in 2006.
I would even be surprised if she made it to the Farscape Con in 2006.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised, actually, if she didn't go. I wasn't surprised when AT didn't sign for any this past summer, for the same reason - I couldn't even imagine leaving my children (at that age) for several weekends over just a few months, and taking him/her along to the convention would be beyond difficult... heck, I can't even take mine out to McDonalds for more than fifteen minutes before one of them has broken some social standard or other.
The wording on the Creation site just seems odd, is all. They don't say, as they do for MS, that she won't be there, just that she can no longer confirm her presence.

Amanda's doing at least one con; in Baltimore, this summer, but you might see her at another Creation con when pigs take flight..

A question, and it may seem dumb, but, remember I have never been to a Con. How cheap are tickets at the door?
I looked at the Creation site and found nothing. So that means I'm either insane or they don't have it listed. I'm figuring they don't want to list it so far inadvance because there might not be any, but I couldn't even find a ballpark. I'm not really helllbent on seeing the stars and all that, I'd just like to check it out and meet some of you peeps.
I'd really love to go, but damned if I'm gonna pay $400. I mean, I love the idea and all, but I'm a student...an art student forcryinoutloud.

The door tickets are about $20, I think. I think that's what it was last year. But if you buy at the door, everything is extra - autographs, photo ops, etc. But if all you want is just to see them, then the day pass should work.
Plus, they will have the non-gold pass weekend tickets going on sale sometime soon, maybe. Those are $189-ish and get you an assigned seat for the whole weekend and autograph tickets for everyone.

I could go for that, depending on how much happens between now and August. I'll probably end up with the $20 tickets though. Autographs would be great and all that, but it'd be nice just to walk around.
