Heya!

So kick off your boots, grab a whisky and sit back and blether away

Re: Calling all Scots!!!
I live in Kinloss, Moray next to the RAF base here.
It's usually really quiet here apart from the noise from the Nimrods and Lossie's Tornado's. At the moment we've been swamped with tourists, mostly Germans who arrive by the bus load down at the beach....good for a giggle at their (lack of) fashion sense. Hopefully they'll bugger off soon and I can walk the dog in peace again.
Our beach...

My dad was a Morton supporter, used to go with him to the matches as a kid, when we lived in Rothesay.

Re: Calling all Scots!!!
Scottish sport is one thing I can do without...
Apart from when there's a golf tournament on...then I help out at a local takeway with the deliveries and get huge tips off of the caddies!
One of the other girls got given a 50 pound tip from Ernie Els' caddie!

Scottish thread.... excellent!
Scottish sport!?? maybe it is rubbish but i'll support the football team to the ends of the earth. In fact, im quietly confident that we can beat Italy... i'm probably alone in this confidence, but ah well.

Re: Calling all Scots!!!
I'm in lovely flat East Lothian Nice beaches though Tourist heaven at the moment - because I'm in "golf country". And you're right Suekay - they are good tippers!
Scottish sport? I always say I'm not going to watch it, because our football/rugby teams give us a glimmer of hope and then get beaten. Our time will come, I'm sure of it. Cant be bothered with the SPL but have Rangers and Celtic fans in the house - such fun

I bet that's fun. I'm lucky, I'm a Falkirk supporter and my hubby and son are Liverpool supporters...no old firm interests in this house.

Re: Calling all Scots!!!
Im an Ayr United fan myself. The only 2nd division team in the 3rd round of the cup!!and drawn against hibs. Ah crap. This time we don't have Eddie Annand to score the penalty to go through 1-0!!! *reminisces about the CIS Semi-final....*

Re: Calling all Scots!!!
I seem to remember a line about Scottish martial arts in the Mike Myers comedy So I Married An Axe Murderer? "It's called f**k you, and seems to involve kicking people when they're down..."
Anyway, there was a story in my local paper a week or two ago that'll either have you laughing your bums off, shaking your heads in despair, or both.
On my part of the Clyde, there's the wreck of a sugar ship that ran aground and almost sank in a storm about 30-odd years ago (it been there for as long as I can remember anyway). It lies on a sandbank on it's port side, happily rusting away, bothering no one.
Recently, Clyde Coastguard had to bring several people off the wreck for their own safety.
What were they doing there? Five adults (and I use the term loosely), two kids and (wait for it) a dog, were having a picnic...
Not only that, they were using a camping stove to cook food, they had no safety gear at all - and, to use a direct quote from the article "Alcohol was believed to be involved."
I've no idea what happened to them, but hopefully someone called the Police and the RSPCA.
Potential entrants for the Darwin Awards next year methinks...

Re: Calling all Scots!!!
Alright, i thought i'd keep this thread going by asking a question...
It's already been asked in the "calling all brits thread" but people here should be a bit more experienced! What do you prefer on your chips??? I prefer salt 'n' vinegar myself. The thing i want to know is, IMHO it's superior with vinegar, why do folk on the east coast put Salt 'n' Sauce on theirs!? I can even see something like mayo on the side, but i just don't see the appeal! Anyone from the east coast like Edinburgh or Kircaldy, speak up!!

Ermm.... isn't Edinburgh on the east coast? lol From an "east coast" perspective anyway - it HAS to be salt and sauce, yum. Its bland without it. I was so upset when we were on holiday in the lakes and we had to have a chippy without sauce.
