A fair episode IMO, but nothing to write home about

One good thing did come out of it thought; Technology, specifically Intars.

Those SG impersonaters were kind of... blah, just sense my negativity towards them. I liked the episode though

I agree. The Intars are definately a clever idea. It's also nice to see them pop up in later eps. Too many bits of tech. appear once, then disappear.

I also agree with your assessment of the ep., good but not great.

Intars. Short for? Intar. Funny exchange, Especially in light of Jack shortening of Zat'nik'atel and Teal'c's of Tacunitamguinwhateverthehellitwas. Refreshing change to have a Goa'uld tech that you could say the whole thing without it sounding weird.

They SG-X teams weren't very faithful though were they? They see Apophisis die and they accept it? Where were the cries of "Forgery"?

Article of faith: What the vo'cume shows you is Apophis' truth. If nothing else, seeing the fella die is going to be a cause of some cognitive dissonance.

I found plenty to like :Rogers,Nelson, the whole thing between Teal'c and Jack, where Teal'c got the chance to call Jack "Underling" and the problem of proving Apophis was dead .
Loved the Tuna sandwich scene !

That whole "invasion fo the tau'ri" thing has been cancelled due to........rain.

I liked this episode by no means one of the best ever by a good solid one. IMHO of course.

Believe it or not, this is the only episode ever aired (including It's Good to Be King) that I have never seen. I just always missed it in re-runs.

I just saw it, and loved it. It makes me shed a tear for the 'ol Stargate, boy I home they make some of those TV movies set in season 2.

Default Re: Rules of Engagement (309)

My Dad told me something the other day which made me think of this episode. He says that in the Cold War era there were entire villages and towns in the USSR which were mock-ups of English towns, where all the road-signs and achitecture and everything were english and where trainee spies could walk into the pub and ask for a pint of the usual and chat about Preston North End's chances in the cup this year or whatever.

Nothing is new under the sun, it seems! But it's funny to think that Apophis was just re-doing what the russians used to do.

Intars are sweet.
This ep reinforces the fact about how horribly the Goa'uld rule. Apophis has been dead for awhile and yet people are still training to fight for him. They are so willing they will die for him and ironically he is already dead.
