Atlantis,SG-1 or Universe ?

I got tired of the one word episode titles like:

Duet, Conversion, Runner, Kindred and so forth.

It is the sign of no imagination.

What ever happened to great titles like:

"For the World is Hollow, and I have touched the Sky"?


Psych has great episode titles: "The Devil is in the Details...and in the upstairs Bedroom" They could have used "Possessed" but they didn't.

I agree on the lame titles for SGU!! I had to laugh at them.

Titled are generally supposed to be catchy and memorable. Most legnthy sentence titles generally seem to come from either the Bible, Shakespeare or Classical poetry, which is both in itself uncreative, and reeks of pretentiousness.

Shorter titles too could also be seen as more creative- they have to encapsulate the entire theme of the episode into one word. Especially in SGU where they have an over theme to their titles- The Four Elements (though Fire was replaced by Lightness & Darkness, which is dualistic).

I can hardly name any SG-1 or SGA episodes (I took a quiz for SGA- 24/101, ouch), yet I could probably name the entire Season 1 titles list from looking at a spoiler sheet a couple of times.

Also, on a more agreeable note, I hear (possibly in jest) that episode title names are going to increase to two words in Season 2, three in Season 3 and so forth

It came so close. Even though I like them equally, I can say that SG1 was definitely better. But SGA was cut waaaay before it's time. Even SG1 was!

SGU better get better, since it took my Atlantis.
