Unfortunately, it's not looking good right now

Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.

Re: no sg1 third movie?
The SG-1 team is all moved on to completely different things now, except for maybe Cam. Tealc has the ruptured Jaffa to deal with. Jack is big general. Sam has her ship. And I'd be willing to bet Daniel is on Atlantis now that it's on Earth, though he would make a nice addition to the net Atlantis movie.

In truth, we don't know if there is going to be a third movie.

But the thing is, this is only relevant for right now. If, as many of us suspect, the third SG-1 movie has to do with Odyssey's "secret mission" (EATG) then none of that matters because it's set concurrent with the last episode of Atlantis.

Re: no sg1 third movie?
Well Joe M.(writer/producer) Says the Scripts for the movies are done, and we know this cause he's shown us pics the first draft of the SGA movie, and he said the SG1 movie was going to be Jack centered. But the funding for the movies are not avail, so both are on hold. Will they'll ever be made remains to be scene. For a Sci franchise to be in the realm of StarWars or Startrek, they are cult icons and so is Stargate. So yeah it might be a year or two? We can only wait and see.

As of right now there are no movie, but I don't think the production hasn't given up on it.

Have you any statistics or facts or is it just your opinion?

It's called "reality"
I love Stargate to death, but it's not even approaching the level of Trek/Wars.
(speaking only of lucrativeness and cult status, quality in this case is subjective)

Re: no sg1 third movie?
There's an old in-joke, I don't remember if it's from The Simpsons or Family Guy or what. I don't watch either show, so I don't remember. But it's from one of those sorts of shows.
Anyway, the joke is that after Star Trek and Star Wars, Stargate is 'that third Star show'. And that's basically what it will always be, methinks. Nowhere near the level of mass popularity as the former two, but worthy enough to be known as an afterthought.

There has been no news recently.
I think it will come when the new season of SGU is announced.

I disagree, I don't want any of SG1 in the SGA movie. Those characters are entitled to a movie of their own.
I'm still hopeful we will see a movie. (for SG1 anyway, not so confidant about an SGA movie) I think the previous movies were successful enough to warrent another one. Hopefully MGM's troubles will ease before the actors are to old to participate.

Re: no sg1 third movie?
Well, if there are Scripts written, but no funding, we can always read a leaked script to see what the Odyssey is doing, in semi-canon

Re: no sg1 third movie?
Look I'm not saying Stargate Trumps Startrek or Starwars but it has the same type of Cult following. And besides and this is just my opinion I personally like Stargate more than Startrek or Starwars. I had no intrest to see Starwars 1,2,3 and never have seen them yet, Seriously.

Re: no sg1 third movie?
I hope there is no leak if they intend to shoot the movie. If there isn't going to be a movie, I'd love for it to leak.

That depends what you mean by 'type', if you're talking numbers then no, Stargate's following doesn't even come close.

No matter how many times you say it we're not going to glean any more information from the phrase 'cult following'. I know what it means, but many shows have one, it's not that much of an achievement, unless you mean something more specific?
