Let's set all things equally and say that there are no survivors left on Earth. The Der'kal are defeated. What do the Tau'ri do?

If the option was to go to a scorched earth where most of the infrastructure had been destroyed, that was suffering the aftereffects of decades of pollution and then orbital bombardment or starting over on a pristine planet, I'd choose the pristine planet. Of course, many others would choose the burned out wreck of a planet because "it's home".

That will actually be a major plot point later on, assuming Earth isn't completely devastated in the endgame.

As did I; such a perfect ending.

          15x07 "Sojourn"
Synopsis: The sudden appearance of a Lantean ship in orbit ushers in Jason Carter's return to known space. The message he brings with him, however, quickly leads to suspicion and, against all odds, a chance to turn the tide against the Der'kal.
          Spoiler:
((30 second recap of "Double Entente" and "Star By Star"))

It's another average day at the Beta Site, with Colonel Taylor trying (and failing) to train a new second-in-command in Major Eaton's absence ("Earthfall"). He keeps letting each person he brings in to fill her shoes go, though, and no one knows why. There's always something that he just can't take on his new head of operations, and within 24 hours, he's on the search for someone else. No one dares question him on this, though, as tensions are running high enough as it is.

In the refugee camp, Danielle Talbot is attempting to straighten out her prefab house on the outskirts of the settlement. It has been tidied up quite a bit since its last appearance ("Contagion"), and people come and go to visit her, quite unlike before, when she lived as little more than an outcast. She is slowly settling back into a normal life, and a knock at her door announces the arrival of Jack O'Neill, come to see how she's doing since he last dropped by. Talbot goes over and welcomes him inside, putting down a file folder she's reading. Apparently, she's preparing a proposal for the so-called Free People of Earth Assembly (she laughs, saying that it really needs a better name once they get around to it) on the subject of repurposing some of the prefabricated houses in the settlement to repair the ships in orbit. It's not that popular a measure, but Sam needs the supplies; people can share, the houses are big enough for two or three, at least.

Jack smiles, saying that he has the utmost confidence that the measure will be approved. After the charter for the new body was recognized, emergency elections were held, with all the survivors at the Beta Site coming together by country and electing one of their nationals to a representative council. Of course, not all nations could be represented, as who got off Earth and who remained behind was largely chance, but the FPE Assembly (already being called EarthAss in a mocking fashion by some) constitutes a total of 137 states nonetheless, a grand achievement for so little resources and hope. Now, though, they have a chance to foster some real cooperation again, and maybe heal the wounds all those centuries of bloodshed back home have caused. Either way, Talbot needs to get going, and she grabs a stack of files and moves for the door, which Jack opens to let her pass.

Accompanying her toward the mountain in the distance, O'Neill says that he actually came to talk to her about the FPE. As it stands, Sam is the acting head of state, since, as military commandant, she really does "rule" the refugees, albeit unwillingly. And although she'd never admit it, Jack believes that the stress of so much responsibility on her shoulders for over a year is taking its toll; she's getting tired, and what she really needs is a helping hand to relieve some of the pressure. He looks pleadingly at Talbot, obviously hoping for a positive answer, but she has no time to say anything; a roar is head overhead, and they both look up to see a trail of smoke streaking across the sky. Grabbing at his radio, Jack orders a patch-in to the Jupiter and asks what's going on.

On the bridge of the 305, Carter is watching as her ship descends into the atmosphere of the Beta Site, trying to catch up to an object racing towards the ground in an out-of-control dive. She explains through gritted teeth that this thing dropped out of hyperspace a few seconds ago and just picked up speed as it reverted to normalspace. It flashed by the two 305s before either could get a visual on it, and now it's rocketing into the cloud layer completely unopposed—there was no time to launch F-302s to intercept, and they don't dare open fire on the unidentified thing for fear of their shots missing and hitting the refugee camp. All they can do is follow along and pray that this thing makes landfall in a safe location and has no hostile intentions...

High above the Beta Site, the massive hulk of the Jupiter blows apart clouds as it guns its engines in an attempt to reach the new arrival before it slams into something valuable on the ground. Apparently, the Asgard systems on the ship give it a slight edge over the free-falling thing ahead of it, and the 305 inches closer and closer until Carter can get a real look at it from the bridge. And once she realizes what it is, she gasps aloud; it's a Pegasus-class Lantean cruiser, no doubt the one Janus and Jason Carter left on a year ago to explore the Local Group ("Star By Star"). Remembering that the ship would probably be set to Ancient and not ISGC frequencies, Sam orders her communications officer to open a channel to the vessel on one of the bandwidths they've pulled from the Atlantis database over the years.

When the connection is finally established, the bridge is filled with the voice of the younger Carter, with Jason furiously shouting that they've lost sublight engines and have no way to slow their descent into the atmosphere. Sam, thinking quickly, has the Jupiter maneuver in front of the half-wrecked Lantean ship, then slowly push up on it. The 305's shields keep a deadly collision averted, and after a few tense moments, the plan works; Janus and Jason's craft gradually slows, and at length stops (the two ships now only a short distance above a thick forest bordering the Beta Site's camp). But with nothing holding it up, it tumbles into the foliage below, crashing through tree trunks and landing heavily on the ground, battered but thankfully intact. The crisis has been warded off.

An hour later, a group of marines has secured the crash site, spreading out to ensure no civilians come stumbling in. Stepping out of a small Jeep that must have carried them from the settlement, Jackson, Talbot, and O'Neill look at the downed ship with mixed feelings, not knowing whether they should be happy that it's back or worried about the manner in which it returned. After her jumper touches down a few yards away, Sam runs down the ramp and joins them, saying that she had the Jupiter give the Lantean vessel a good scanning once it touched down, and it's pretty much intact inside. There was no major structural damage from slamming into the treetops, and hopefully that means they can get it repaired and up and running again.

After an awkward pause, Daniel asks Sam if they know anything more about the situation onboard the ship itself. Apparently, Jason hasn't made contact since the crash, and attempting to raise the ship on comm only brings up a Lantean version of call waiting. He and Janus must be preoccupied with something, but just what that is, no one knows. Suddenly, the airlock on the crashed ship suddenly hisses and pulls aside, allowing a boarding ramp to be lowered to the ground... slightly crooked due to the way it landed, but walkable nonetheless. Everyone stares at the amp, waiting and waiting for someone to come down, but no one does. Finally, Jack glances at the others and slowly approaches, calling out a cautious "Hello?" every few steps. When he still gets nothing in reply, he ascends the walkway and places his hands on the airlock itself, peering into the darkened hallway beyond.

...and then he nearly falls backwards when Jason Carter emerges from the black, shouting right in O'Neill's face (who he didn't see) for someone to get a medical team here immediately. After recovering, Jack grabs ahold of the boy and asks what's going on and why he's been out of radio contact for the past hour. Staring blankly up into his new uncle's face, Jason explains that they didn't mean to come here like this, that they were attacked trying to make it back to Alliance space... and there's a good chance Janus won't survive the trip.

In the Beta Site a short time later, Dr. Caroline Lam is rushing a crash cart with the unconscious and bloodied Janus toward the infirmary. As she and her med team try to run every-faster, Colonel Taylor catches up to them and asks if they know what happened to him. But they have no idea whatsoever, and Jason doesn't seem to want to elaborate to anyone but SG-1, or what's left of it anyway. Even now, they're sitting in one of the VIP suits here inside the mountain trying to pry the story out of him, trying to impress upon him that saving Janus hinges on knowing how this all came to pass and what got them into such a scrape that even an Ancient ship couldn't handle things. Then Lam shouts that she needs to get into surgery, and leaves Taylor behind as she and her people pass into the medical wing of the base.

In the VIP quarters Jason has been given, the young man sits in the bed sipping a mug of coffee one of the others must have brought him, and stares blankly at the wall while Jackson, O'Neill, Sam, and Talbot all look on, obviously concerned but not knowing quite what to do. Daniel suggests maybe they just let him collect himself, but Talbot, surprisingly unsympathetic, insists that they don't have time. Caroline's team is good, but the Beta Site simply lacks the intense resources needed to save Janus's life unless they know what caused his injuries and when. Pulling Sam closer, Jack asks her to connect with her nephew and get him to talk, and the Colonel reluctantly agrees to try.

While the others watch quietly, Sam takes a seat next to Jason and asks if he's alright. The prodigy just shrugs, muttering that everything dies eventually. No doubt worried by his tone and attitude all of a sudden, Sam places a hand on his shoulder and asks what happened out beyond the galaxy, from the day they left to now. Sighing, Jason says that it all started out so well... and then it just all went wrong.

When they first left the Beta Site to explore, they spent much of their time talking and getting to know one another better. Janus had lived a fascinating life, cataloging time as much as he could across the Local Group. He met countless races (always taking care to hide what he really was), and charted the history of the Milky Way for most of its existence, from the fall of the ancient Alliance to the rise of the new one. He warned, though, that peace would never last long, and that there would always be danger and deceit, but that he was too overjoyed for words to see that humanity, the children of his people, had come so far.

After hearing all this, Jason decided to transmit a message back to Earth to inform them of their imminent return ("To Have Loved and Lost"), but Janus wanted to investigate one last star system before heading back into friendly territory; the Acrelans, the old race that had once been at odds with the Ancients and other galactic powers ("Grace"/"Double Entente"). His hope was to convince them to join the war against the Der'kal, and add their own fleet to the forces still holding the alien armada at bay. But when they dropped out of hyperspace over the Acrelan homeworld, they found nothing but a devastated wasteland covering the entire surface, with an enormous debris field clogging the skies and high orbit. A quick scan confirmed that much of the wreckage was extragalactic in origin, and there's only one race from beyond the rim with enough ships to cause that much destruction; the Der'kal had utterly wiped out the Acrelan people.

(Second part of "Sojourn," see previous post for start and next post for end.)

            Spoiler:
They spent the next several hours collecting data on what must have been a truly epic battle, confident that no one would bother them out here in the middle of nowhere. But the Der'kal must have left some sort of beacon to alert them if anyone returned to the dead world looking for answers, and just as they were finishing up, an alien battle group appeared out of nowhere and opened fire, catching them with much of their shield power transferred over to sensors. By the time they got the defensive field back up to full strength, they'd already taken an incredible pounding from the alien fleet. A hull breach in the hallway outside the bridge ripped apart some of the bulkhead, and a piece of it slammed into Janus as he rushed toward the pilot's seat. Jason sealed the chamber off and got them into hyperspace toward safety, but he had no idea how to treat his companion; the ship's medical facilities had been converted to extra lab space long, long ago. And that's how they ended up over the Beta Site, falling out of control toward the surface with barely any shields and no sublight engines to slow them down.

The rest of the team looks on, crestfallen that such a prominent race and potential ally has been lost. Sam pulls her nephew closer and opens her mouth to console him, but before she can speak, Jason mutters, "It's okay, Aunt Sam, I know he did." The elder Carter looks on, confused, and asks what he's talking about, to which Jason, also confused, says that she just told him that Janus did the best he could in an effort to make things better. But Sam hadn't actually said that yet. In fact, the closest she got was thinking it...

A while later, Dr. Lam has taken a break from surgery on Janus to talk with the team. She's run a battery of mental tests on Jason Carter and has determined that his brain is running at a much higher level than the average human adolescent, even one as intellectually gifted as he is. In fact, his readings bear far more of a similarity to those of Rodney McKay when he was close to ascension than anything else (ATL: "Tao of Rodney"). She's running a genetic comparison right now, and if her predictions hold out, she suspects that Jason has been altered so that his physiology is almost equal to that of an Ancient, not a human at all.

Jackson is noticeably unnerved by this news, pointing out that having access to such bodily advancements makes the boy a weapon in his own right. As they found out during the Khalek incident ("Prototype"), being bestowed with telekinesis, telepathy, cellular regeneration, and a host of other near-ascension powers can make for a devastating warrior. But Sam trusts her kin not to suddenly decide to go on a killing spree if that is indeed the case, and asks Caroline if they can speak with him to get this story out, too. Nodding, Lam allows them into the recovery wing of the medical labs.

The team spreads out around the cot he's is sitting on, and Jack asks what, exactly, happened out there to change his very genes. Sighing, Jason explains that Janus's ship had a gene resequencer on it, very similar to the ones employed by Nirrti ("Metamorphosis") and the Lanteans ("Tao of Rodney"). While his companion was busy attending to various other things, Jason would sneak into the lab it was stored in and use it in an attempt to speed up his own evolutionary process. He figured that when he came back, people like Sam could analyze his advancement and help move their own species forward as a whole. Janus knew nothing of it.

Sam asks him what in the world he was thinking, especially given how dangerous the whole thing is, but Jason is adamant that no one was hurt by it, so what's the point in getting upset? Besides, they discovered a lot of useful information out there besides the Acrelans' fate, so the journey was most-definitely worth it. Some of the early history of the Asgard, notable races in the Andromeda Galaxy, the Venii here in the Milky Way—and at that, Daniel holds up a hand, his brow creased in thought. He's heard that name before, "Venii," and something about it is oddly familiar to him.

Suddenly he gets it, and a memory from his time in the higher planes of existence falls into place; the Venii are an old and powerful race, having risen to prominence after the collapse of the ancient Alliance in the galaxy and before the Goa'uld System Lords arrived on the scene. They had an empire that stretched across the entire galactic plane, connected not by stargates but by something else. At this point his memory fails him, and he cannot recall what it was that linked together the vast interstellar domain. But Jason knows, and informs the others that they, too, know. The Venii used a massive network of orbital relay satellites to move their ships around the galaxy, and SG-1 actually found one of them, if the ISGC records are correct. Realization dawns on the others now, and Talbot says that he must mean the space station they fought the Der'kal for two years ago ("The Station"). Jason nods, and says that if they really want the Alliance to have a chance at winning, contacting these aliens might just be the final piece of the puzzle.

Standing on the bridge of the Jupiter a few hours later, Jason looks down at the Beta Site, deep in thought. Although he isn't aware of it, several crew members' clipboards are hovering in the air around him, a side-effect of his unintentional use of telekinesis. Daniel and Talbot watch from the rear of the room, the former expressing continued worry over the boy, who clearly does not have the control over his new abilities needed to make sure he doesn't inadvertently harm anyone. But Talbot is sure that he'll get things under control, even with Lam's continued prognosis that Janus's condition is deteriorating rapidly. After all, she reasons, he is a Carter.

Speaking of Carters, Samantha enters at that moment from the hallway, tapping her radio to connect her to the Beta Site. She tells Colonel Taylor and Jack (both down in the gate room) that they'll be back soon, hopefully with word that a new ally is joining the fight against the Der'kal. O'Neill wishes them all good luck and godspeed, and with that done, Sam orders the 305 taken into hyperspace, at full speed heading toward the opposite end of the galaxy and deep into enemy space.

As the ship continues to plow headlong across the vast nothingness, Sam outlines their plan via a holographic projector on the bridge (a few of the small pieces of technology installed after the Asgard gave over their legacy to Earth); the Jupiter is heading to the space station now identified as a Venii relay outpost ("The Station") in the hope that they can somehow utilize it to contact the Venii themselves. Since, according to ascended memories, they are a people with a domain spread out across the Milky Way, they have no central coordinates to go to readily available, and will have to draw the aliens to them. If all goes according to plan, Daniel and Jason will beam aboard the station, access its transport protocols, and launch their ship into the heart of the secretive peoples' territory, bypassing all possible Der'kal resistance in the process.

This, though, is where they might run into a small snag; as Jackson is quick to point out, suddenly dropping into orbit around the Venii homeworld may not be the best way to make friends. Perhaps, he argues, there is a more-outlying place they can transport to? Jason says that he isn't quite sure, but hacking into the relay network to find potential targets shouldn't be that difficult, especially with the progress Sam made the last time the Tau'ri visited the station on interfacing with their technology. Whatever the case, he doesn't think that he and Daniel will have any difficulties with the procedure, and they should be in and out in a flash.

Over P3X-590, a planet far nearer to Ankgor or Dakara than anything else, a hyperspace window opens to eject the Jupiter back into normalspace. Ahead of the high-tech battlecruiser sits the Venii relay station, exactly the same as when it was last seen. Even with the bulk of the X-305, this gargantuan structure still dwarfs the human vessel, and they approach warily, even knowing that it possesses no weaponry of its own. But there's another problem, something the team had forgotten... the station has a massive defense shield that blocks all beam and ring transmissions save ones sent from transporters built specifically by the aliens themselves. Talbot, remembering the mission report, suggests they beam down to the alien ring platform in the swamps that SG-1 used to get onboard before and go from there. Seeing no other viable options, Sam waits for the away team to pick up their bags and then sends them down to the planet.

As soon as they materialize into the clearing where the rings are, Daniel goes over and punches in the activation sequence, then he and Jason are teleported a second time, now arriving in the ring room on the station itself. It being his first time there, the younger Carter marvels at the architecture and seamless technology, but Daniel quickly pulls him down the nearest hallway towards the power chamber, knowing they need to get going so as to now hold up the mission. Once they have the dormant generator in sight, Jackson radios the Jupiter and asks Sam what protocol he should try and bring up. Her response is to press a series of buttons within the hidden control panel next to the display screen that they uncovered the last time. Daniel repeats the order for Jason, and he goes over and inputs the proper command.

On the bridge of the Jupiter itself, Talbot points out the window as the station's energy shield flickers out of existence, worried that maybe they did something wrong. But Sam reminds her that, as they found out on their original mission here, the outpost lacks the power capacity to keep its shield up and charge primary systems at the same time, no doubt due to its being out here without any real maintenance for so long. Six massive panels lift up from the sides of the station as the entire thing lights up, and the knob-shaped device at the opposite end begins to glow. Carter, recognizing this, radios back to Daniel and says that this is when the Der'kal fleet vanished the last time, which means it was probably transported away. But they want to choose their location, so they need to pick a Venii outpost from the list of targets fast and beam back to the 305.

Jackson is already sitting before the display screen, where a map of the galaxy has suddenly appeared with over a hundred spinning points of light; those must be available relays they could connect to. Looking over them, Daniel pulls on the little ascended memory he has access to and presses one of the dots, muttering that he hopes his thoughts are right, or they could be blasted into oblivion by a shocked Venii weapons array. Shouting to Sam that they're good to go, he and Jason disappear as they are beamed back to the ship.

The 305 pulls up alongside the station, aligning with the knob-shaped object and facing away from the massive structure as blindingly-white light fills the area. Talbot mutters that stunts like this are going to get them all killed one day, and then the light flashes even brighter, causing a soft hummmmm noise to echo for a split second before the intense blast fades. When everyone opens their eyes and looks out the forward window, they find a different set of stars greeting their eyes, as well as an unfamiliar planet floating nearby. And this one, unlike the swampworld of P3X-590, is surrounded by a fleet of sleek, elegant starships that are already approaching with human vessel and launching fighters.

(End of "Sojourn," see previous two posts for start.)

              Spoiler:
As a precaution, Sam orders the shields raised, but explicitly tells her crew not to power weapons until she says otherwise, even if they themselves come under fire. Then she asks her communications officer to open a channel on all frequencies so she can introduce herself and the others, saying, "This is Colonel Samantha Carter of the FPE-UNS Jupiter, and we come in friendship to..." As she continues on, Daniel leans over to Jason, who seems again lost in thought, and congratulates him on a job well-done. The boy grins back, saying that it was a joint effort, and he just hopes Janus isn't too upset with him when they return home for using his gene resequencer. But somehow, Daniel doubts he'll be surprised; the lab was, after all, unlocked...

A few hours later, the Jupiter drops out of hyperspace over the Beta Site with three of the Venii ships right behind her (the alien delegation consists of a single battlecruiser, slightly larger that the 305 itself, and two smaller escort vessels). On the bridge, Talbot picks up a headset and radios the gate room, telling the people there to inform Colonel Taylor that their mission was successful; they have opened an official dialogue with the Venii Conclave, one which they hope will ultimately result in a permanent alliance against the Der'kal. When Taylor never comes on the line, though, she asks where he is, and her face grows pale at the unheard answer.

Meanwhile, Sam, Jackson, and Jason are onboard the lead Venii ship, meeting with its commander, Salen. At first brush, the aliens appear to be avian in origin, with beak-like mouths and sharp eyes. They are bipedal, and their bodies are covered in an odd mix of light fur and feathers of varying shades of browns, blues, greens, and grays, although color in itself does not seem to have any impact on their society. As Salen is explaining (his people were once trading partners of the Ancients, and as such know how to speak the so-called "Galactic" language of English quite well), the Conclave has been locked in an isolationist state ever since their defeat by the System Lord Anubis almost two-thousand years ago, fearing that the combined firepower of the Goa'uld could actually pose a threat to them and their scattered holdings. As such, they were unaware of the Ori incursion, though the Der'kal are known to them; when SG-1 activated one of their relays two years ago, the alien fleet was transmitted to one of their outer colonies and subsequently annihilated by a Venii attack flotilla.

Sam says that she hopes to step up talks immediately, as she's sure both sides can learn much about one another and establish brisk trade relations. Both Jason and Daniel seem eager to dive into talking about the Venii's culture and technology, but Colonel Carter tells them to wait as she answers a call on her radio from the Jupiter. Upon hearing the message, she solemnly turns to the other two and says that they should beam down to the Beta Site right away... there's something they need to see.

In the infirmary, Dr. Lam sadly informs Jason and the others (minus Sam, who is still with the Venii) that there's nothing more she can do for Janus, and that his body is simply failing him. Even with his Ancient physiology, there's only so much passive regeneration can accomplish, and even the Lanteans had an age where "natural causes" was an ordinary end to life. She estimates he only has a few hours left, and he has said that he would like to spend it with these few friends he has left in the universe, the people of Earth who have been so kind to him and the legacy of his long-dead race.

Talbot, Jackson, and the younger Carter file into the closed-off area where Janus, looking battered and bruised, is sitting with his hands clasped on his lap. Upon seeing Jason, his face lights up, and he congratulates the adolescent on his meeting of the Venii. But that's the last thing on his mind, and the young man tearfully thanks his year-long companion for the journey of a lifetime, a sojourn that has taught him more than he ever dreamed about the universe and the incredible things that lie within it.

Sensing that the others feel uncomfortable, Janus promises to be brief, asking Jason to hold out his hand. In it, he places a small Ancient storage device, roughly the size of an eyeglass case, and then closes the boy's hand around it. The Lantean quietly explains that this contains the sum of the knowledge he obtained about the time-space continuum during his travels, and, provided the timeline took giving this away into account, it should be accurate up to the point where they purposely change something in predicting the future. Upon seeing the three humans' shocked expressions, he warns them never to use it needlessly, but should there ever be no other recourse, there is a way to know the way to victory.

And then, before anything else can be said, he closes his eyes and mutters that he's lived far too long, and that perhaps it is time to see what his brothers and sisters found so fascinating in the end. A split second before his body begins to glow with the light of ascension, Jason realizes what's happening and shouts not to go, that they could still use his guidance, if only for another hour, but it's too late; Janus vanishes into a being of energy, which itself dissipates in the ceiling as it rises up and away.

Seeing the young Carter's disheartened look, Jackson puts his arm on the boy's shoulder and reminds him that they're never truly alone. Because just like the angels of mythos, the Ancients are always there... watching over them as they continue into the future.

Great episode. Looking forward to seeing more of the Venii
                  This isn't Atlantis?
                  I don't think so.
If this is not the Lost City…then where is it?

                    Okay, three things:

Great Episode so9! Loved it. One of your better ones just due to the sheer amount of info we were given.

Second, The Venii. I haven't been a part of this forum long, and I am pretty sure I remember them being the 'We dont mention them here" Aliens. I thought that they were some fanfic thingy or something. I dunno. COol that they are avian though. I do like that they are brought in, lots of good story there i assume.

third, poor janus, but like all things time has a way of forcing mortality on all of us. But I hope jason stays around and helps out a lot. PLus we got a new ship now too!

Yay! Looking forward to see what you have cooked up next!

Well the plot needs to move forward a bit. Almost ready for the big second half...

Haha yes, that was them. They were a race I invented for the Gateworld Virtual Fleet, and more on them will be explained later, as well as the value of having a completely-unknown method of instant transit across the galaxy...

third, poor janus, but like all things time has a way of forcing mortality on all of us. But I hope jason stays around and helps out a lot.
Jason Carter will be joining the show as a minor character (not on main cast, that is, like Dr. Lam, etc.) for the rest of the season, yes.

PLus we got a new ship now too!
Janus' Lantean cruiser will be in the refugee fleet from now on, yes

Yay! Looking forward to see what you have cooked up next!
                      Haha, hope I won't disappoint!

Great ep, sertinly was worth the wait.

massive network of orbital relay satellites to move their ships around the galaxy
Why can i picture the mass rellay's from the game mass effect?

Because that's where the idea came from. I freely admitted when I outlined the race that I took that concept from Mass Effect, but it's a tweaked system; they work more like stargates here than the Prothean beacons did.

Great work on this ep s09, and cool that you brougth in a "new" race. If the Venii join the us in the fight against the Derkal, we would really have a chanse.

And, btw, how is the fight agains the Derkal going. Have the alliance suffered any major loss, won any major battle or is it status quo?
