    Hey! Don't knock it.

So does this mean that SG-1 and SGA will merge s09?

I will pick up Atlantis from where it ends in reality... Season 5 is running alongside Season 12 of SG-1, so "Enemy at the Gate" would premiere right after "Shatterpoint," the start of the Der'kal invasion. So Season 6 would start alongside "Inroads, Part 1" from Season 13.

And actually, this will be interesting. I can use plots from Season 13+ to impact Atlantis...

So this is no longer a Stargate SG-1 Continuation, it's a Stargate Continuation

You should get a mod to chage the title.

            14x09 "Coventry"
Synopsis: The Tok'ra hover on the verge of cracking the Der'kal communication codes, prompting Earth to prepare for a surprise attack deep into enemy space.
            Spoiler:
(30 second recap of "Rogues, Part 1" and "Traitors")

In deep space, a trio of Tok'ra ha'tak square off against five Free Jaffa motherships. Neither side is firing, but there's clearly tension in the air as the two sides make the unspoken challenge for the other to fire. Suddenly, the ships slowly fade, to be replaced by a digital screen showing three dots on one side of an area of space and five on another; the engagement onscreen. In the ISGC briefing room, Dr. Talbot and the rest of SG-1 listen as Vala explains what her contacts in what remains of the Lucian Alliance (nearly destroyed in the events of "My Enemy's Enemy") have reported to her of late. Apparently, after the death of Anise on Chulak ("Traitors"), each side is gathering ships on the border of the other, drawing precious resources away from the war. But it's only posturing so far; there haven't been any reported escalations.

Talbot rests her head on her hands, saying that Earth doesn't have the ships to moderate this conflict, but that the Nox are trying to negotiate both parties to back down. Teal'c would love to simply withdraw his motherships, but with so many Tok'ra vessels perched on the border, doing so would be a massive security risk, and he simply can't take the chance that they'll do something. And, to top it all off, the Der'kal have been taking advantage of the sudden lack of massed forces opposing them, and have moved past Dakara into non-Jaffa space. It's estimated that over fifteen billion humans live in the area they're currently moving into, a region walled up by the Free Jaffa, Earth, and already-conquered planets.

The screen fades to black and Vala steps back, letting Talbot stand to address the team. She says that the SG teams are spread to their breaking point right now, and that Earth's going to need a lot more men if they hope to keep up the pressure on the Der'kal. Carter points out that a new, gate-friendly tank model will be ready for deployment within a month, but it's still going to be hard going for a while. Nodding, Talbot tells them to go gear up for their mission. If the Tok'ra's breakthrough is as big as they say, they may be about to get something to even the odds a bit.

Later on, the stargate activates just as the team enters the gate room, dressed for offworld travel. A technician radios for them to go ahead, and the foursome marches up the ramp and into the event horizon. They arrive at the Tok'ra homeworld seconds later, stepping out into the square that houses the stargate. A dozen guards stand at the ready, wielding zats, and look over SG-1 warily as the gate shuts down. Finally, one of them approaches Carter and asks her and the others to follow him to meet with Delek in the High Council chambers.

As the group travels through the streets between the massive towers of the Tok'ra city, Mitchell asks how they managed to build all this so fast. Vala guesses that the buildings come from a new form of construction crystal, an idea Daniel seconds. If need be, that would allow them to destroy the structures fairly quickly, too, keeping any enemy from taking vital data hidden within. Stopping before a large staircase, the Tok'ra guard bows to SG-1 and says that Delek is waiting within the squat tower just up the stairs, then turns to head back to the stargate. Carter shrugs and leads the others upwards, going through beautiful crystal doors and arriving inside what appears to be the interior of an Egyptian palace. Several doors lead out of the entry hall, and the largest, according to Daniel, is marked "Council Chambers" in Goa'uld. They quickly head through those doors.

Inside, Delek is standing before a data terminal, entering messages into the system. Upon hearing the team enter, he turns to them and greets them tiredly, bags clearly visible under his eyes. Daniel asks if he's doing okay, and the emergency Tok'ra leader replies that he is, but this crisis with the Jaffa, and Anise's death, are making it nearly impossible to get any sleep. How she managed the job, he says, laughing, he has no idea. Then he turns more serious, activating a screen that immediately flashes up with data on the Jaffa/Tok'ra standoff. Somewhat sheepishly, Delek clears that and brings up what would appear to be logs for some project. Daniel translates the word "Der'kal" almost at once, and asks Delek just what this big breakthrough is. The other man smiles, explaining that his scientists are on the verge of cracking the enemy's communication codes, allowing them to listen in on any and all alien transmissions that pass by a Tok'ra sensor relay.

This is shocking news for the team, and no doubt will be for the folks back on Earth. At a time when any edge at all was most needed, this comes through just at the right moment. But Delek holds up a hand, saying that the work isn't quite done yet due to a few key codes that refuse to be cracked. Carter offers her assistance, something Delek welcomes, but says they'll need to make contact with the ISGC first to tell Dr. Talbot the good news. With that, SG-1 heads out, back towards the stargate.

Approaching the gate, Vala seems very excited about what this could mean. With the ability to listen in on Der'kal communications, they could predict where and when they strike, and stop every advance in its tracks. Mitchell agrees, though he somewhat puts a damper on things by muttering how much he wished they had this when Ankgor fell under siege the second time around ("Xenocide"). They could have forestalled the largest single enemy advance of the war, but instead they had to let it fall. When they arrive, Daniel dials Earth and radios the gate room, explaining as quickly as possible what's happening. The technician on-duty says he'll pass that information along to Talbot, and then Jackson cuts the connection.

A passing Tok'ra asks the team if they have heard the latest news from the frontlines, and when Carter says no, he pulls out a datapad, on which is a video transmitted from a Tok'ra ha'tak. Two Jaffa ships are firing on it, and after a moment, the vessel explodes. Another nearby Tok'ra angrily declares that this "Alliance" has done more harm than good, and perhaps it's time the Free Jaffa learned a lesson about interfering in the affairs of others. Mitchell quickly pulls the others out of the crowd, deeper into the city, shouting that they need to solve this crisis, too.

On Earth itself, there's another problem. SG-3 is coming in from a mission offworld with an interesting twist; a torrent of small, rabit-like creatures are running through the gate along with them, apparently fleeing the Der'kal batallion behind them. The defense team doesn't quite know what to do, and the critters scamper past them into the hallways beyond as the iris finally stops the torrent. In the gate room, Dr. Talbot comes down the staircase asking about SG-1's transmission from the Tok'ra homeworld, then leaps aside as a furred creature leaps past her into the briefing room. She glares at the nearest technician, demanding an explanation, when two more rabbit-things scatter around the control room. Sighing, Talbot grabs the nearest phone and asks for a containment team to get down here immediately.

Offworld, the team has returned to the heart of the Tok'ra city, this time to a building devoted to scientific research pertaining to improving the subspace spy network. It's here that scientists have been analyzing the Der'kal comm. system, and they're in the process of showing SG-1 their work. Carter takes a datapad and plugs it into her laptop, saying that they should get started then.

((Montage of scenes showing Carter and the Tok'ra hard at work, while the rest of the team waits patiently. Daniel eventually pulls out a book to read, whereas Vala tries to help Sam and Mitchell takes a jog around the city))

Finally, Delek arrives in the lab, looking at the exhausted Tok'ra and Colonel Carter, and asks how close they are to cracking the codes. Sam, smiling tiredly, holds up her laptop, which has a box blinking the words "Simulation successful." She proudly announces that they've done it, and the modifications necessary to hack into Der'kal communications are being uploaded to the subspace network as they speak.

The group anxiously gathers around the nearest console and listens, but at first all they hear is static. Then, finally, a Tok'ra relay post near Hebridan begins broadcasting a report of a recent skirmish with the Free Jaffa Nation; a single cruiser was destroyed, but a second successfully took out six ha'tak, then moved on to the motherships' base, and proceeded to destroy it. At once, Delek demands a confirmation, and the Tok'ra check logs from Jaffa intelligence... indeed, six ha'tak were recently destroyed in a run-in with two Der'kal cruisers, with one of the enemy being taken out. Everyone cheers; this is a masive step forward. Daniel says he'll radio Earth to tell the ISGC the good news, and he and Vala head out.

On Earth itself, Dr. Talbot answers the radio call in distress. She explains to Daniel that they're experiencing an infestation of "mayaas," small, furry, rabbit-like creatures native to P5X-265. SG-3 was attacked by a Der'kal patrol there, and were followed through the gate by a herd of the little things, who have now run amock... well... everywhere. Rounding them up is getting stressful, and the Pentagon is demanding to know how this happened. But regardless, she thanks him for the news and promises to pass it along to the United Nations.

Meanwhile, Carter, Mitchell, and Delek are planning how best to use this new advantage of theirs. Cameron suggests retaking Hebridan now that they'll know when ships will be in the area, but Carter dismisses the idea; the planet's mostly ruins by now, with most of its populace dead. They should wait for a tangible target, something that can change the coruse of the war. Daniel, entering with Vala, asks if Ankgor would be a big enough target, but Delek isn't sure he wants to risk Tok'ra lives for a Jaffa world right now. Not with all that's happened...

Daniel immediately points out that the Jaffa died by the thousands in the war with the Ori so the Tok'ra bases would stay secure. Regardless of their current feud, they owe Teal'c's people alot. Delek grudgingly admits he's right, but insists that he'll have to discuss the situation in greater detail with the High Council. He turns to leave when, quite suddenly, the subspace network picks up a new transmission; "The symbiote is showing signs of weakness." At once, Delek freezes in place, as do the other Tok'ra in the room. Vala looks horrified, immediately realizing that there's only one species referred to as "symbiote" remaining in the galaxy in any real importance, and mouths the word "Anise?" to Daniel.

(End of "Coventry," see previous post for start)
              Spoiler:
But Jackson is shaking his head. It can't be. Anise died on Chulak, murdered by Traditionalist Jaffa bent on forcing Teal'c's hand ("Traitors"), after all. There were even witnesses, and she was dead-center in the blast. No one could have survived that, not even a Tok'ra. Mitchell quietly mutters that the explosion took out the entire plaza... maybe they mean some primordial Goa'uld? Or a captured Tok'ra agent? But no, the timing is too soon, the coincidence too unlikely. Then everyone is silenced as the conversation about the symbiote picks up again over the subspace channel.

Apparently, "it" is finally straining to "protect her," and the Der'kal believe they "can begin" soon. Very soon. As they listen, the scene transitions to the dark bowels of a Der'kal cruiser, with the alien vocies continuing their discussion voicing over. Here, in a cell, lies Anise. She looks battered and broken, tired and weak, and there are scars criss-crossing her body. Two alien warriors enter the cell, carrying a symbiote extractor between them. Again, a te'kal comes into the chamber, smiling viciously, and makes a simple demand; she will comply this time, or the host will die. It is that simple. Anise glares at the Der'kal for a long moment, unmoving, her eyes full of anguish, then sighs.

The te'kal signals to the warriors, who immediately position Anise's head before the massive spike-like ficture on the front of the device. The Tok'ra leader mutters something in Goa'uld uner her breath, then closes her eyes as the extractor activates, shooting a birght beam of blue light into her forehead. She screams, a tortured, heart-wrenching sound, and finally falls to the ground, clutching her head and sobbing. But the composure is all wrong... Anise would not act this way. And slowly, the realization dawns; this is Freya, the host, and Freya alone. Anise is squirming angrily in a small tube, which the te'kal picks off the extractor gleefully and holds up to the light. Then he nods to the warriors, who immediately raise their rifles and point them at Freya.

A shrill sqeal shounds from Anise, but the symbiote is helpless as she watches dozens of emerald plasma blasts rip through her host's body. Freya cries out once, but is silenced as her life fades almost instantly. The te'kal, satisifed, pockets the tube containing her, then tells the warriors to "go ahead" with the next phase. The alien soldiers nod and pick up Freya's lifeless body, dragging it from the cell. Speaking quietly to Anise, the commander alien says how pleased he is at how well that went. Now they can begin in earnest.

On the Tok'ra homeworld, Carter is happy to hear news from Delek that Earth is preparing for a massive offensive into Der'kal territory, and indeed, they are going to attempt to eliminate the defenses around Ankgor and liberate that sector of space. The planet itself may be lifeless, but its star system is still a strategic nexus. She radios Mitchell and Vala, en route to the stargate to report in to Talbot, with the decision, and the two others are pleased to hear that, as well. Reaching the gate itself, Vala begins to dial the ISGC when, suddenly, the chevrons light up far faster than she dialed them. Mitchell is confused, but the nearby Tok'ra pull out their zats, worried; offworld activation.

The stargate activates, but nothing happens for a long moment. In the tense silence, Vala mutters that the Tok'ra shouldn't rely solely on their homeworlds secret location for protection, that they really do need an iris, but Cameron points out that their agents may not have time to enter an IDC before running through... or be able to carry a GDO on spying missions.

And then everyone falls completely silent, as Freya's body appears upright in the wormhole. At first, it seems as though she wasn't killed after all... but then the corpse falls forward and slams into the ground with a thud, shocking the Tok'ra and SG-1 members alike as the gate shuts down. For a long moment, no one moves. And then Vala runs forward, hysterical, and takes Freya's head in her hands. She screams for someone to get a medical team, then shouts over the radio for Carter and Daniel to get themselves to the stargate immediately.

Some time later, SG-1 is assembled outside of what would appear to be an infirmary somewhere in the Tok'ra city. Delek and the High Council stand nearby, talking quietly. Occasionally, one of them glances toward the human team, but otherwise the two groups stay apart. At length, a Tok'ra physician comes out of the infirmary, and announces that they only have one option left to try and save Freya; put her in a sarcophagus. Delek is disgusted, demanding another option, but the doctor insists there is none. It's either that, and soon, or the host body will be too far gone to save.

Daniel pleads with Delek then, arguing that they need whatever information Freya (the physician has confirmed that Anise is not present in the body) has, especially if the Jaffa (still assumed to be the murderers/kidnappers) are keeping the symbiote herself alive somewhere. After a heated exchange, another Councillor steps forward and nods, saying that, this one time, the need for information seems to outweigh the evil implications of using the Goa'uld technology. Reluctantly, Delek agrees, though he glares darkly at Daniel as he leaves to make arrangements.

              Later, everyone gathers around the sarcophagus to watch as Freya is placed inside. The lid closes, and a slight hum sounds briefly. Then the lid pulls back, and Freya slowly, very slowly, opens her eyes, wincing. At first, she doesn't seem to recognize anyone, immediately screaming, but then she notices that it is Delek holding her steady, and Daniel Jackson smiling sadly at her through his glasses. One of the nearest Tok'ra immediately asks what happened, but the physician insists Freya be given some time to recover. But the human shakes her head, saying she'll tell the story now. She takes a breath and begins;

After the bombing on Chulak, the Der'kal revealed what had happened. An al'kesh had dropped a plasma bomb on the plaza, yes, but this al'kesh had been heavily modified; it was being piloted by former Traditionalist Jaffa who had been coerced by the promise of greater power by the Der'kal. And worse, after witnessing Asgard beaming technology so often, the extragalactic aliens have figured out how to make it work themselves. The al'kesh was equipped with a prototype beam system that transported Anise away as soon as the blast hit. The motive was obvious... turn the Jaffa and Tok'ra against one another, get them at each other's throats, while capturing a vital member of the Alliance high command.

((The other humans stare at one another in shock at this, realizing the implications of the Der'kal having deciphered the secret of beaming technology, but do not interrupt))

Freya goes on to say that after that, there was the long two weeks of torture. It was almost more than she could bear, but Anise made sure she was always the one "in control" when it happened, so that she would feel the pain, not Freya herself. Regardless, the memory of what Anise had experienced was there all the same. The symbiote refused to betray the Tok'ra, not even flinching when an alien warrior stabbed her through the chest before finally relenting and using a healing device on her to patch the wound. But at last, they found a way to break her; by threatening to forcibly extract her and then kill Freya, Anise agreed to be taken out on the condition the host would be spared.

The woman's voice chokes at that point, reliving the horrible experience of having her life-partner torn from her body. And then having to watch Anise squirm in agony... and be forced to see Freya herself killed. But just before the extraction, Anise had whispered something for her to remember; she had told Freya that, if by some miracle she survived this, she had to forget about her. If Anise ever became a danger to the Alliance, they were to kill her immediately, onsight. She refused to let the Der'kal twist her into a weapon, and Freya quietly says that she will honor that last wish.

Again, there is silence. But Daniel refuses; he won't let them hurt Anise. Before anyone can argue, though, a Tok'ra calls for Delek and SG-1 over the radio, saying they've picked up more Der'kal communications chatter. Delek says it can wait, but the other Tok'ra insists; this is big. Reluctantly, the group leaves Freya to the physician and the others.

Arriving in the lab, Delek demands an explanation, and the nearest Tok'ra gives one... the Der'kal are moving a battle group in the direction of a human world with an estimated population of three and a half billion but only an Industrial level of technology. If the Alliance doesn't divert ships there within the hour, the planet's inhabitants will be slaughtered in a bloodbath. Carter and Mitchell are horrified, and say they'll contact Teal'c and get him to divert some ha'tak at once, but Delek holds up a hand, stopping them mid-stride.

The new Tok'ra leader slowly says that they cannot stand in the aliens' way on this one. Neither Cameron nor Carter, both military minds, understand, but Daniel and Vala see his point; if the Der'kal arrive to find an Alliance fleet waiting for them, they'll know their communications have been hacked and change all their codes. This breakthrough will be for nothing, and they'll lose their only advantage. Slowly, Sam gets their meaning, and asks if they really think they're just going to abandon all those people, and Delek says that that's exactly what they are going to do.

Mitchell declares that there's no way in Hell that'll happen, and moves to hit the Tok'ra, but Sam restrains him just in time. Daniel gets right in Cameron's face, shouting that it's save three billion now or save trillions in the long run. Everyone is amazed to see Daniel take this stance, given his humanitarian views, but Jackson says, hard as this is, they have no choice. They'll strike at Ankgor, as planned, but they can't oppose the Der'kal at the human world. They have to let it fall... and they have to let its people die.

Hours later, Carter, Mitchell, and Vala stand with Delek and listen/watch reports of the battle of Ankgor. Progress is good, though they probably won't be able to retake the planet just yet. Still, they caught the aliens offguard thanks to their wiretapping, and have destroyed a dozen cruisers already. All in all, a success.

Deeper in the city, Daniel and Freya (now in Tok'ra clothing) sit together on a bench, watching the sun set over the desert. Freya leans against him, saying that Anise truly wanted to spend all her life with him. She loved him to the moment she was forced to choose between life for herself and life for those she loves. Jackson wipes a tear from his eye, acknowledging, but points out that so much has changed today. When Freya asks what he means, Daniel looks at her sadly and says, "Are you really the good guys anymore when you stop protecting the very things that separate you from the bad ones?" To that, Freya has no answer, and they keep on staring into the sun, lost in thought.

Light-years away, a beautiful planet floats in deep space. The camera pans away, toward the stars in the distance, and suddenly a massive group of hyperspace windows open... loosing dozens of Der'kal ships, mostly frigates and corvettes but also some cruisers. They move menacingly toward the helpless human world, already launching fighters and firing the first shots of their attack... then the screen fades to black, revealing no more.

                Very good work.

                Spoiler:
I was a bit surprised that it was Daniel was in favor of not sending the fleet (not really about Vala) and not Sam or Cam.

This episode is good. I never thought that Daniel and Anise/Freyr will get together. I just love the shippiness in this one. Keep up the good work and I hope that Daniel and Freyr will be together forever.

Anise's symbiote is called Freya, to be precise.

Quite nice, there's a nice example of Tok'ra aboveground crystal building in Continuum, if any of you want a visual.

Also, teh alience seems ot have far too litle intel for the reources available to them, some cloaked tel'taks owuld be enough for covert inteligence gathering in der'kal held space.

They did; at the end, Sam, Mitchell, Vala, and Delek are watching battle reports from an Earth-led assault on the Der'kal defenses at Ankgor. It wasn't enough to retake the planet, but they took out about a dozen enemy cruisers without suffering more than a few losses themselves.

                            MGM/Sci-Fi announces SG-1 cancellation!
After fourteen action-packed seasons of Stargate SG-1, a decision by Metro Golden Meyer will finally end the venerable science-fiction show. They have green-lighted the to-be-released movie "Star By Star," which will end out Season 14, as well as two additional seasons. The show will end its historic run with the Season 16 finale, which will hopefully resolve the numerous story arcs seen thus far.

Star Amanda Tapping was unsurprised by the news, saying that she knew it was bound to happen eventually. "There's not much story left to tell for the SG-1 team," she said with co-star Christopher Judge nodding next to her. That said, she added, "Our SG-1, at least," which got some laughter for everyone in the room.

Current showrunner Daniel Shea has announced that the Season 16 finale has already been thought it to wrap up the show, and will introduce viewers to the future of the Stargate universe. "I'm honored to have been given a chance to do Season Eleven and beyond," he said proudly, "And I hope the franchise can continue for years to come."

Thank you And I was planning on sixteen seasons anyway. Two more seasons and then I can focus on Atlantis in full, getting it up as high as I can go.
