Want to know why your resident stalker fan feels like showing you every corner of the room (in a totally un-sexy way)?
I feel robbed. Because you turned me into a patient, yet borderline obsessive Shipper I have spend all my free time watching, analyzing and fandomming Stargate SG-1, Atlantis season 4 and AoT, too look for Ship. I stopped watching other movies, have not read a book in years and am suddenly at least three seasons behind on TV shows I tought I was regulary watching. Recently I've carefully decided to take some baby steps into the world outside the Stargate unverse again... And I must say... A lot of movies are true Stargate clones! Sometimes it's only little things like calling the main character Jack. Or Sam. How could they?!

Anyway... Back on topic...
I'm peeved. You guys have ruined alien movies for me. I see Sam and jack everywhere. I see bad Ships getting resolution. I see the Stargate Way of solving things, and it's annoying!
Let me show you what happens when Nad watches say... independance day ('tis the date...).

-Nad is playing (again the un-sexy way) with the remote
-Nad sees corny movie (Oooh, independance day!)
-Nad sees Will Smith staring at (very uninpressive) alien aircraft.
-Nad says to dog: Hey, that's one uninpressive alien aircraft... (In Dutch, for Nad's dog does not speak english. In fact she doesn't speak at all, but that's her issue)
-Nad thinks Sam and Jack are way better (and prettier) in kicking alien bum.
-Nad thinks ''Why don't they call SG-1?''
-Nad makes that joke to Guinea Pig
-Guinea Pig doesn't get the joke for it has never seen Stargate and doesn't reply.
-Nad goes out to find someone who does see the importance of calling in SG-1 and ends up with the Lady on the Parkbench
-Lady on the parkbench doesn't see it, but get's image of Martin WooHood in her head when hearing Stargate and smiles anyway
-Nad realizes that Stargate is fiction. And that she missed the end of independance day
-Nad goes home to play random SG-1 ep to see how alien invasion stories usually end.

So... please, just confirm the S/J relationship.
That's the only way I can ever stop watching those ten seasons of Stargate over and over and in adition not feel ripped off by corny sci fi movies in the future!

Or...Sam and Jack had a ceremony in Vegas where they got married in the presence of Elvis and Cher, this was ''witnessed'' by the lady on the parkbench and her 'friend'. Mark heard about this from Pete, who never really got over stalking Sam, and drove (because no one ever takes a plane) to Las Vegas to stop the wedding. Of course he comes in just in time, but luckily he realized that Jack was a good guy during the long drive, because he picked up some mysterious strangers along the way, who made him see that true love can't be stopped. He blesses the marriage and decides to thank the strangers, who now are his best friends. But... when he goes to look for them, he finds that they're gone and that all they left behind are footprints and strange burn patterns in the sand of the Nevada dessert...

...Yes, I can come up with strange stuff in no time, but not with one simple, corny wedding poem

And those 'strangers' were of course members of the Shippy Hippy Insanity Party and their friends from the Ship Family who, aided by the powers of broccoli, worked their magic and then....just......disappeared.......in a puff of smoke...................

And they lived happily ever after.

Just my thoughts on Continuum:

I loved it. I could have loved it more, but I knew going into it that there was no SJ resolution. Anything that I could pick up on was going to be bonus. So here it goes:

Welcome back, SG-1.

This movie was fantastic. I looooved it. It basically was seasons 1-8. I love Ba'al and all the other old baddies.

My favorite part? Easy.
Most people on the forum that remember me know that I, Hannah, am a lover of all things angsty. So when Jack died, I loved it. Well, only because I knew it had to be fixed. So I loved it when the camera shot to SAM showing HER reaction. So I loved it when SAM was the one lying next to Jack. So I loved it when SAM had to be pulled away from Jack. So I loved it when they go through the Stargate and SAM's still shocked.

Plus, when Jack was talking to them and Daniel's saying.... OOoooh, I'm your best friend, I could just see Cam making the connections that uhhh... Sam's your WIFE! I thought it was nice how in my happy world, Cam was trying to comfort Sam about Jack's behavior.

And that year they spent in the alternate reality? Poor Sam with no Jack. I bet he was still with Sara.

I have more thoughts. Theses are just the main ones.

my thoughts on Continuum

okay so from a shipper's perspective it really was a disappointment. but again if you watch the movie without the expectation of anything you actually got a little out of it. It was really touching to see how Sam reaction after ba'al stabbed Jack. Nowif you take off the shipper's glass and watch the movie from a general fan perspective I think you might really enjoy it. I know I did. I really thought it was a good sg1 movie. the actions and all the cgi was great. I thought the storyline was also more of season1-8 rather than 9and 10. I'm a little disappointed that we didn't get confirmation but I think Continuum will be a success which hopfully convince MGM to give a green light on the *Jack centric* third movie. overall it's a great movie.

OT but stargate related

I was watching the tennis match bvetween Venessa Williams and someone else. during the match the camera paned to the audience where Venessa's father was sitting and I had to grin as I looked closer and saw that he was wearing a hat and black t-shirt that says "stargate world". No one knew what I was smiling about but I couldn't help it.

Oh yes. Now I remember reading about that. It would be so exciting. Of course, if it's about Jack, it would have to include things like I don't know.... HIS WIFE!?!?!? lol.

Hmmmm... maybe they could do a movie showing us how Sam and Jack finally got together? I mean, after watching Continuum, I know they're together, but I WANT TO SEE IT HAPPEN. More than just proof. I kinda want to witness that AHA moment. You know what I mean?

Does Daniel really know? I often think...as intelligent as Daniel is...he doesn't get the "special relationship" between Sam and Jack.

I love S&R too. It's been a while since I've seen such a good Stargate episode. And it's sad that they finaly writen Sam properly in Atlantis right before she leaves, she could have been used much better in S4.

I hear you all loved the episode...me on the other hand...I didn't found it a good episode...well...not a wow episode...or that I say...that's good...there were some funny lines and all(especially Rodney) but otherwise...nah...

And I found it that Sam was poorly written out...and very fast...it all really happens in the last 2/3 minutes... it could have been so much better... It went too fast...plus I really *don't* like Woolsey now!!! grrrr...
I hope that they atleast let us know what Sam is gonna do now...since she isn't leader of Atlantis anymore...plus I'm curious what the reactions of the team are...

Still haven't seen Continuum...and won't, until Christmas...uh, I mean, July 29th But that hasn't kept me from skimming the spoilers. So, for those of you who've seen it, a couple of questions...

Spoiler:

...am I right in assuming that Daniel dies in the effort to restore the timeline and that's how he ends up in the corrected timeline with his leg entact?

...do Sam and Cam remember the time they spent in the altered timeline?

...did anyone notice if Jack was wearing a wedding ring in any of the ATL scenes? That would answer the question about Sara.

And just some Continuum thoughts in general...

I guess I knew that they spent a fair amount of time in the ATL, but it never occurred to me that it was a whole year! Now I know that people have expressed some disappointment in the lack of blatant ship, but I got thinking about 100 Days (I know...I try hard *not* to think about it most of the time, but in this case, it might be useful )...Laira aside, the key thing about that ep is Sam's relentless efforts to build that doo-hickey so they can retrieve Jack...with just that brief scene with Janet to give us insight as to Sam's underlying emotion in all that. After that, it's business as usual for her, on the surface anyway...with all her energy focused on building that device.

From what I can tell, what happens in Continuum is very much along the same lines...subtle signs that Sam is deeply affected by how things have changed...and by what happened just before the change...but then her usual modus operandi kicking in and doing the only thing she *can* do...the only thing she knows how to do: fix it.

And the scene with the "Frooties" is incredible, when you think of it. Do you not think that by now Jack would have explained the whole WoO to her and that Fruit Loops would have been an inside joke for them? It is such a nod, in the movie to that episode and their relationship, IMHSO.

And to be honest, my heart breaks at the thought of Sam having to spend an entire year in this other life...desperately trying to figure out how to fix it...and yet knowing, as Mara pointed out to me, that in doing so she has to send Jack back to a timeline where his son dies. If ever there was a turning point in a man's life, it was that. And here is a happy Jack, with a healthy, growing son, unburdened by all the guilt he carried around for all those years. And she has to take that away from him. Wow.

I considered every scene to have some sublte ship which it did. I thought the scene where Daniel was Telling ATL Jack about his son and Sam new it was coming, so ducked her head down and didn't look at Jack. as for the "Frootes" scene, taht scene broke my heart it was so sad
