Glad to see everyone approves Granted, I had to do some serious thinking to solve the Asgard and their 30,000-year-ago-sleeper-ship thing, but I think I did okay haha.

          Thank you

Now, soon I'll be posting the "Season lists" from the OP in new posts, so I can hyperlink them to the OP and save some space there. Basically, I want to make the season lists into links that you can visit, instead of taking up most of the OP's character count with it all typed out there.

So don't be wondering why I'm randomly reposting them with no explanation... and I'll be transferring the timeline to the OP soon, too, so check it often if you want some updates

                14x02 "Growing Pains"
Synopsis: With the war back in full-swing, dozens of human and Jaffa worlds appeal to the Alliance for membership and protection, citing the fall of a local leader as proof that such steps are needed.
                Spoiler:
On a desert-like world in deep space, an intense battle is raging. Der'kal troops are attempting to storm a sprawling cityscape, but are meeting heavy resistance from a massive army of humans. Many are wielding strange-looking projectile weapons, but some are utilizing staff weapons and other Goa'uld technology. Whatever the case, though, they are holding their own against the alien attackers, even with plasma ripping into the city's outer structures, presumably from some form of artillery.

In the rear of the Der'kal forces, a commander grimaces and turns to a holographic display behind him. There, the image of a female alien floats in midair... a te'kal (from "Cold War," we know these are essentially regarded as stand-ins for the Der'kal supreme leader, the Exarch). The commander growls angrily and demands he be allowed to simply bombard the human settlement, but his superior cuts him off, pointing out that there is more at stake here than he knows. He must take the settlement by physical means, and the ships in orbit will not be helping him do so. With that, the hologram fizzles out. Furious, the Der'kal commander turns to his lieutenants and begins giving out orders...

A few minutes later, in the human city, the resistance cheers as the Der'kal forces begin to retreat and the artillery barrage ceases. A staggering section of the nearby area has been blown to bits by the attack, and thousands lie dead or wounded, but at least the day has been won. But then the cheer subsides, replaced by unease and then terror, as the massive hulk of a Der'kal vessel rises from the sands. This is a troop carrier, but the alien army itself is still on the ground. The carrier begins to pick up speed as it approaches the human city, and the citizenry realize too late what's about to happen. Before any of them can sound a warning, the carrier smashes into the metropolis, plowing into the earth and exploding with a brilliant blast that incinerates everything around it.

Hours later, Der'kal troops and gunships make their way into the now-destroyed city, rounding up the survivors and shepparding them off to the side. From his command post, the commander turns to the again-activated hologram and asks the te'kal if she's satisfied. She merely narrows her eyes and cuts the connection.

Back at the ISGC, there's an offworld activation, prompting the defense team to rush to their positions. In the control room, a young male technician has taken Walter's place, and listens intently for an IDC... but none comes through. Dr. Talbot comes down the stiars, carrying a mug of coffee, and begins to ask Walter who's knocking, then winces as she remembers the events of the past week. The technician, ignoring her mistake, replies that so far they have yet to recieve a code, but he is picking up a weak radio signal. After Talbot gives him permission to try and boost it, a message begins to play over the speakers; a distress call!

Talbot orders the signal boosted even more and asks that it be recorded. The message is coming in from a human world on the edge of Der'kal-occupied space, claiming that the capital city there has been obliterated by the aliens and that other planetary defenses are crumbling even faster, especially considering their lack of advanced technology. The people of this world (called "Cordos") request permission to evacuate to Earth, a request Talbot grants immediately. As refugees start to pour through, she shouts for someone to tell her where in the world SG-1 is... now!

Unfortunately for Talbot, the team is several thousand light-years away, on Heliopolis, but they're not complete unconnected to the problem she faces. In a holo-room, a Tok'ra representative is showing them a map of the galaxy in real-time, zooming in on Cordos itself. The Tok'ra explains that the planet is the third to fall to the Der'kal in two days, a disturbing trend considering the recent capture of Ankgor. At this rate, the alien invaders will be at Dakara inside of a few months, and if it falls, the Jaffa Nation's entire flank will be exposed to attack. The one thing the Alliance is counting on is that the next set of worlds are all fairly well-along in their development, around the level of the Cordosians, and the Der'kal certainly can't just roll over them without taking heavy losses.

Carter points out that even with their advanced technology, the enemy forces seem to be avoiding outright bombardment of the worlds they conquer, instead preferring to spend the men and vehicles they have in ground-based combat. There has to be a reason, she says, to carelessly waste so much. Vala suggests that maybe they want to live on these worlds themselves, but Mitchell shoots that down as not reason enough to just level a few cities. The Tok'ra dignitary adds that such speculation is pointless at present, and that they should instead by focusing on the more-pressing problems they have, particularly the dozens of agitated human and Jaffa waiting in the gate room.

With that bit of advice, SG-1 heads toward the stargate, conversing quietly about the situation at hand; these dignitaries have been arriving for days now, and they've formed some sort of coalition between themselves. What for, no one knows, but they're definitely radiating a great deal of anxiety. As the foursome rounds the corner into the gate room itself, they find the mob of representatives shouting and demanding a meeting with the heads of the Alliance... many citing the fall of Cordos as proof that they can't afford to stand around and wait any more.

Seeing an opportunity to calm things down, Daniel jumps in and offers to arrange a meeting with the people they've requested, on one condition; the mob breaks apart and the representatives wait quietly and orderly. Not seeing any other real choice, an agreement is reached and Daniel turns back to SG-1. Now they just need to set up a meeting.

A few hours later, another argument is breaking out in the main Alliance meeting hall; the Tok'ra (represented by the man from earlier) and Nox (represented by an unnamed Nox) are more than happy to meet with this new coalition, but the Jaffa Nation (represented by an unnamed Jaffa) wants assurances that they won't start demanding parts of the Free Jaffa fleet to protect them. And, most surprisingly, Earth (represented by Major Davis) is also showing some reluctance, with both Washington and the United Nations unwilling to put any deals on the table. But at length, the Nox dignitary is able to convince the Jaffa to at least hear the people out, and Davis bends his orders as far as he can to allow the same.

On Earth, Dr. Talbot is trying to find a way to sort through the refugees onbase. The stargate finally gave out, probably having been destroyed by the Der'kal, two hours ago, but the Cordosians don't know where they want to be offloaded. Most simply want asylum on Earth, but Talbot knows the UN doesn't have the resources to placate all of them. Desperate to clear her facility, she orders Chulak dialed directly and for someone that speaks Goa'uld to get up here.

Meanwhile, the human/Jaffa coalition has selected two people to speak to the Alliance for them; a female Jaffa by the name of Ul'yea and a male human called Ramos. They take seats at the grand table opposite the four Alliance representatives, with SG-1 standing off to the side, and open the discussion with a very diplomatic request; their respective peoples want membership in the Alliance, effective as soon as possible. That certainly causes a great stir, especially with the Nox, who reminds the two that the body they want to join has, by tradition, been reserved only for races that have reached a higher level of development and shown a commitment to preserving galactic peace and stability. So far, she points out, she has seen neither from this newly-formed coalition.

But Ramos is insistant, saying that, so far, the Alliance has been content to simply defend its own worlds and nothing else. Sure, a marvelous fleet was assembled when Ankgor came under siege, but what friendly forces arrived for Cordos? What did anyone do but speculate how this would affect things? And, Ul'yea adds, the Free Jaffa Nation once vowed to defend all Jaffa, something they are clearly no longer in the business of doing. Just because her world remains sovereign doesn't mean her people aren't Jaffa, after all.

Major Davis asks that the two representatives give them a few reasons to justify the expense of defending all their worlds when they themselves have admitted they lack the resources and hardware to contribute themselves. Though his voice is firm, a quick glance at Carter and Mitchell confirms how uneasy he feels about arguing against helping these people. Ul'yea mentions that, together, the Jaffa groups have a fair amount of death gliders, and Ramos affirms that several human worlds posess vast numbers of tanks and low-tech airplanes they can use, though he does admit most of these are too large to be transported through a stargate.

Finally, when things begin to get a little too confrontational, Daniel suggests a half hour recess so everyone can "cool off." Almost at once, Davis heads over to SG-1 and tells them what he's wrestling with; he has orders not to accept any deal whatsoever, and the Jaffa representative sounds like he has the same. But Carter can't understand that, considering how open-minded and compassionate Teal'c has always been. Why would he order such a thing?

Spotting Ramos off by himself, Vala excuses herself from the others and goes over to him, asking how his people are doing. He explains that they repelled a small Der'kal assault via stargate three days ago, but took severe casualties and inflicted minimal damage in return. He has no doubt that the aliens will return soon, as the first prod was probably a mere scouting party. Without the might of the Alliance on their side, his people, as well as those on dozens of other worlds, stand little-to-no chance of surviving this war. While Vala continues her conversation, Ul'yea makes a point of coming to the rest of SG-1 and asking for their assistance. She knows all too well the machinations of the Free Jaffa Nation's buearocracy, which is one reason her world decided against joining it. But now that seems to be playing against her and her people, who all desperately need the help only the Alliance can provide.

After the 30 minutes expire, the reps return to their debates, and Mitchell motions for the rest of the team to join him in the hallway. Once the door closes behind them, he asks if anyone else is wondering what to do about this. But before anyone else can give a response, the muffled sound of a staff weapon can be heard down the hall, along with a chorus of screams. Without a second glance, the foursome rushes to find out what's going on.

(End of "Growing Pains," see previous post for start.)

                  Spoiler:
At the ISGC, another problem is developing; Dr. Talbot is discovering just what Ul'yea meant by "Jaffa buearocracy." She's been re-dialing Chulak for almost an hour and a half now, trying to get through to Teal'c, but she keeps getting pawned off on minion after minion, most of which have greeted her with little happiness. Obviously, the Traditionalists have not quite been ousted from their positions, as the Progressive part of Jaffa have always been most welcoming and happy to help the Tau'ri. Finally, though, she manages to speak to the old SG-1 member, and requests permission to begin sending human refugees to Chulak for dispersal. With all the traffic that comes through the ISGC, she simply can't afford to spend hours dialing the dozens of worlds these people want to go to. And luckily for her, Teal'c reports that the Chulak stargate is currently cleared of all inbound or out bound traffic, so she's free to do so if she likes. With a greatful smile, Talbot turns to the personnel in the control room and tells them to round up the refugees and send them on their way.

Unfortunately, such a happy ending isn't waiting on Heliopolis; SG-1 enters one of the main halls to find a trio of coalition representatives dead, with Free Jaffa guards standing nearby, staffs in hand. Numerous other Jaffa are in the process of restraining the more-violent of the offworld dignitaries, many of whom appear outraged. Carter orders the closest Jaffa to tell her what happened here, and the soldier explains that the three representatives began demanding the guards step aside and let them talk to the Alliance leaders themselves. When they refused, the three reached into their jackets and pant-pockets, presumably to withdraw hidden weapons. After they shot them, though, a quick search revealed that the trio was instead trying to pull out authorization documents from their own governments, hoping to show the Jaffa that they had every right to be here. But the representatives think their compatriots were simply murdered in cold blood, and all hell is about to break loose if they can't do something about it.

Sitting all alone in the holo-room, unbeknownst to anyone else, the projector suddenly activates. Computer terminals flash to life across the room, and a map of the galaxy is again thrown into the air. The section of space around Cordos comes to the forefront, and suddenly several nearby worlds begin to flash, with red spilling out around them. Although no one is there to see, the indication becomes clear very quickly; the Der'kal are on the move again.

Back in the main hall, a Tok'ra rushes in, pulling Colonel Carter away from the rest of SG-1 and whispering something in her ear. Sam's face seems to pale almost instantly, and when the Tok'ra steps back, she shouts for everyone to shut up and listen to her. Apparently, the Tok'ra subspace network has just detected a massive Der'kal offensive aimed at numerous human worlds in the vicinity of Ankgor and Dakara... over fifteen are currently under siege simultaneously. The crowd is stunned, as no power has ever amassed the resources needed to attack that many worlds at once. Carter says that she's not quite sure how they can manage it, either, but this would certainly imply that the rear half of their armada has finally arrived. If the Tok'ra information is correct, the entirety of the Der'kal's forces are exiting hyperspace on the edge of the Milky Way right now.

And the bad news continues as Carter reveals that most of the worlds being hit are the very ones these people are here representing. They came to the Alliance too late, and even now the Free Jaffa fleet is recalling all vessels in the area. They simply can't hope to take on that many ships on that many fronts with their forces already spread this thin. With the issue of the coalition (now largely destroyed anyway) joining the Alliance moot, the dignitaries rush to the gate room to return to their homeworlds, each demanding to go through first.

Watching from the hall, Daniel asks Sam just how bad it is, but she just shakes her head, explaining that the Tok'ra sensors can only pick up ships, not what they're doing. But it's going to be a bloodbath one way or another...

                  Two Days Later

SG-1 is again on Heliopolis, in the holo-room. Nearly all space up to Dakara has been conquered by the Der'kal, but they paused just on the edge of the Jaffa Nation. Casualty reports coming in are staggering, with hundreds of millions dead. The Der'kal themselves reportedly took minimal losses in their ground offensives, as no one had ample warning time to assemble an army to meet them as they landed. All contact has been lost with the respective homeworlds of Ramos and Ul'yea, who were unable to return home due to a loss of connection to their planets' stargates.

As they make their way back to the gate room, the team debates what they can possibly due to stop the alien advance, but now it looks almost impossible. They have a fleet hundreds of ships strong, and their troops number well into the millions. Numerically, the combined Alliance forces could stand against them, but the vast technological superiority of the Der'kal to most Jaffa and Tok'ra vessels would make that match-up far harder. Things look bleak indeed.

As Daniel starts to dial up the ISGC, Mitchell turns and stares up at the beautiful carving and architecture of the citadel here, sighing to himself. If only the Ancients and Asgard were still around to help, maybe they could win. Hell, he'd even take the long-lost Furlings over nothing else. As the gate activates, Vala places a hand on his shoulder and reminds him that SG-1 has toppled empires before... maybe they can pull one last trick out of their hat.

And with that, the tired team steps through the gate and heads home, ready for the next battle.

Okay, since no one seems willing to tell me what was good/bad about the last episode...

A Budding "Resistance" Lures SG-1 Into Danger!

When a human woman by the name of Cecille Noman arrives at the ISGC begging for assistance for her people, on a world deep in enemy space, SG-1 is skeptical. But when she begins to explain the value of her homeworld--and the Ancient defense platform hidden there--even the United Nations finds the prospect suddenly worthy of attention.

Dimane's world was one of the first to fall to the alien invasion, as its strategic location between the Free Jaffa Nation and the Hebridanian colonies made it a prime target. But the Der'kal occupation forces do not know of the secrets of this planet, and its reclaimation by the Alliance could provide an invaluable advance base to launch a major counter-attack into captured space. Her plan; SG-1 must run the enemy blockade around her homeworld, get her and a team of scientists to the Ancient defenses, and use them to annhiliate the alien fleet.

The ramifications of this are huge, and no one can deny that. But the danger may end up costing SG-1 far more than they bargained for, especially when they find themselves cut off from all aid far too deep in enemy space to be rescued.

"Resistance" will guest star ___ ______ as Cecille Noman and _____ ____ as Colonel Ryan Arouca.

It was a great epi, but it lacked a sense of anything being acomplised. It was basicaly just a situation without closure.

Eh, that was partly the point; the coalition of worlds collapsed by the episode's end, after all. Mostly it was to show just how quickly things are deteriorating on the edge of Alliance space... worlds that are strong and united one day can be ripped apart by tomorrow.
