The Alliance isn't at war with the Lucians (shortening it to avoid confusion with the new "Alliance of Great Races"), nor does it look like war is on the horizon. Zanous Garrin, while a former member of the organization, is a rogue agent, and Earth and the other allies realize this. If it hadn't been made clear before, I'll clarify now; all the actions reported as taken by the Lucian Alliance so far in Season 12 have been the actions of Garrin and his followers. The actual Lucians are not involved in this at all, and are just pirating as usual on the edge of the galaxy.

Anywho, Danielle Talbot was a character in Stargate: Avalon, not this continuation of SG-1. Although, she may end up being used in the season finale if I don't make up a similar character, so I may end up giving out more information on her anyway.

        12x16 "Nightmares"
Synopsis: When Teal'c begins having strange dreams, the team fears that an old adversary may have returned from the grave yet again.
        Spoiler:
Teal'c is running through Apophis' palace on Chulak, holding a staff weapon. He looks terrified, and frequently turns and fires his weapon down the hallway, presumably at following enemies. He hits his radio and shouts for Jackson, then Carter, then Mitchell and Vala, but recieves no response regardless of who he asks for.

As he turns a corner, he finds a flurry of staff blasts coming at him, and he dives behind a stone outcropping (although no enemies can be seen; the blasts appear to be coming from nowhere). He fires off a counterattack, then leans back against the wall, breathing hard.

Knowing he needs to get going again, Teal'c stands and hurls his staff forward. The staff slams into the wall at the far end of the corridor, sticking in a good foot, and a few of the incoming energy blasts drop off, as if an adversary had been taken out. Teal'c quickly pulls his zat off his belt and fires it towards the wall several times, continuing until the blasts finally cease. Still breathing hard, the Jaffa warrior turns, glad that this is over.

But when he turns, he freezes, his eyes widening; Apophis is standing before him, his hand device raised. The Goa'uld smiles grimly, and sickly tells Teal'c "Hello there, Shol'va" before everything flashes white. Teal'c screams and shoots out of his bed, grabbing the staff weapon lying nearby. He is on Chulak (the city can be seen out the window), not Earth, and has clearly been having a nightmare. After a moment, a Jaffa soldier comes in, sking if he's okay, to which Teal'c replies, breathlessly, "No..."

The next day, Teal'c waits at the stargate on Chulak (a settlement has sprang up around the gate, stretching all the way back to the original city in the hillside). The portal actives and the rest of SG-1 walks through, asking their friend how his time passing legislation over the last few days went. He smiles and replies that much was accomplished, but it's clear he's very tired. Carter asks what's wrong, but he says that they cannot discuss it here, and invites them back to his lodgings.

As the five of them make their way through the settlement back to the city. Teal'c becomes more and more distracted, his voice often trailing off (although it is gleaned that Chulak; currently has a population "half that of Earth's", is still the official capital of the Jaffa Nation despite the completion of Dakara's reconstruction over the last month, and has its Capitol building in the palace that formerly was the home of Apophis). Finally, Daniel grabs him by the shoulder and tells him to explain what's going on.

Teal'c, though, doesn't seem to hear him. When the Jaffa turns, he sees Apophis grabbing him, not Jackson. In a rage, he pulls out his zat and stuns Daniel, but the "Apophis" vanishes in a flash of light, re-appearing over Vala. Teal'c goes to stun her, too, but Mitchell quickly pulls out his own zat and shoots Teal'c, knocking him unconscious. Surprised and confused, the still-standing members of SG-1 radio for aide.

A few hours later, Teal'c comes to inside the Palace. To his surprise, a duo of Jaffa guards are standing nearby, their staff weapons pointed at him. He demands to know what is going on and struggles at his bonds (he has been tied to a bed), but no one answers until the door opens and SG-1 and Bra'tac enter. Carter explains that he was detained after attacking Daniel, fearing that he had been brainwashed (as many Jaffa were by Ba'al in "Stronghold"), and this is for the safety of all those on the planet.

But the Jaffa warrior insists he did no such thing; the only person he raised his weapon against was Apophis. This, of course, elicits some confusion from the others, who know that Apophis was killed almost seven years before over Netu ("Enemies"). When pressed on the subject, Teal'c merely repeats his claim, saying that his former "God" has been appearing to him of late. Somewhat startled that he'd harm his own friend, he admits that something must be wrong.

Bra'tac suggests a scout ship be sent to the ruins of Netu to confirm that Apophis' ha'tak met its fate there. Although it is extremely unlikely he escaped, nothing can really be ruled out when it comes to the Serpent God, and SG-1 agrees. Carter and Vala join a small group of Jaffa and they depart for the planet's spaceport for transport. In the meantime, Mitchell and Daniel begin poking around the city for clues as to why Teal'c is suddenly seeing a Goa'uld so many years after his death.

While they're exploring the area, Mitchell spots a group of Jaffa children sparring with wooden staff weapons (much like the ones seen in "Alleigence") and asks to join. Remembering his training from the Sodan, he easily disarms an adolescent Jaffa male, but the boy seems insulted that a human could defeat him. He spits in Mitchell's face and stomps away, shouting a phrase in Goa'uld that Jackson translates as "A stain on purity". Curious, Mitchell decides to investigate while Daniel continues on for clues to Teal'c's visions.

After some time of searching, Daniel stumbles upon a run-down building on the edge of a forest. He surmises that it once served as a symbiote holding center in the days of the System Lords, and approaches with caution. He pushes the old, creaking door open and steps inside, seeing nothing but cobwebs and shattered glass.

Almost at once, though, he hears a staff weapon open behind him, and dives to the floor as a burst of plasma flashes by overhead. Turning onto his back, Jackson is shocked to find Apophis standing there, preparing to fire again. But before he can, Daniel raises his P-90 and fires a round off, causing the illusion of Apophis to vanish in a flash of light. Confused, the SG-1 member gets up and radios Mitchell to tell him what's happened, but his teammate tells him that he's busy following the Jaffa teenager from earlier.

On the other side of the settlement, Mitchell seems to have found something, too. A large group of adolescent Jaffa (a vast majority of which are male) have gathered in a makeshift camp hidden behind a cliff-face. They all wear decorated golden armbands on their forearms, which Mitchell likens to young gang members on Earth wearing colored bandanas. After a few minutes of eavesdropping, he gets the picture; this is a group of Jaffa youth who believe that humans are a stain upon the galaxy, taking the rightful glory of the Jaffa away from them. They see their brother race (particularly the Tau'ri) as a bad influence that must be silenced, and are amassing a great deal of support on a number of worlds.

This, of course, is bad. If the future leaders of the Jaffa Nation are slowly being turned against Earth and other human worlds, things bode ill in the continuing struggle against anarchists like Garrin. Mitchell goes to radio Jackson to alert Earth, but pauses when a group of the Jaffa youth appear a few feet away, armed with staff weapons and demanding he come with them. Not having a choice, he does.

Meanwhile, Daniel has brought a group of Jaffa scientists (and Bra'tac) to the old building he had his vision in. Using scanning devices similar to those found on Earth (no doubt the Jaffa were helped in their develpment by the Tau'ri), they begin searching for energy readings. After a moment, they find one, a big one. And after blasting through a wall at the far end of the building, they get a shock; a secret chamber built into the mountainside.

While they explore this new chamber, Bra'tac notices a very-obviously Goa'uld device glowing in one corner. When he approaches, though, he suddenly freezes, muttering that he sees Apophis standing nearby, threatening to kill them all. Thankfully, though, Daniel convinces him it's not real, but some of the Jaffa scientists do not believe him. They attempt to shoot "Apophis", hitting each other in the process. Jackson and Bra'tac take cover, unable to do anything, and wait until it's over. They make their way over the bodies to the device, which they decide to take back to Earth for study.

Teal'c, meanwhile, has finally been released from protective custody, and is taking a stroll through the woods outside the city. Suddenly, he hears shouting, and pulls out his zat, going to investigate. He happens upon the meeting of the Jaffa "gang" and sees a bound Colonel Mitchell being beat by the teenagers with wooden staffs. Teal'c quickly rushes in, zatting boys left and right as he does, finally coming gun-to-gun with the oldest of the group, their leader. The young adult is shocked that Teal'c has not seen the evils of the Tau'ri yet, how they seek to destroy the power of the Jaffa. But the aging warrior reminds the child that he did not have to live through a hundred years of Goa'uld oppression, and that all that is thanks to Earth. Were it not for the humans, they would still be slaves (the debate continues for a few minutes, but that is the basic idea).

Finally, the boy lowers his weapon, and agrees to at least try talking out his anger with human representatives before resorting to violence, but he warns Teal'c that there are far more radical sects out there that will not see it this way.

Later, on Earth, Dr. Lee has managed to figure out the origin of the Goa'uld device; it was created by Apophis' elite scientists shortly before his death to instill fear in enemy populations. It sends out a signal in a short radius that causes shifts in brainwave patters, causing hallucinations of him. Teal'c must have passed by the building of late and been affected without realizing it. The device has probably been on for years, and no one knew. But now he's reversed it's effects and stored it away, so it can no longer do any harm.

After the meeting is over, Teal'c, Daniel, and Mitchell meet with Carter and Vala to swap what they learned; Apophis' ha'tak is scattered around Netu, they need not worry about seeing him again. But Mitchell and Jackson are both worried about this anti-human movement they saw, and wonder if one day soon they'll be meeting Jaffa on the battlefield again...

            Thank you.

I guarantee you, the ending is going to be big, too. All season, things have slowly been coming together; Garrin has been cutting off outlying worlds, raiding planets for mass stores of weapons, amassing a massive fleet of ships, and trying to destroy the Alliance any way he can. But all of this is child's play compared to what's coming in the final episode... let's just say you haven't seen the half of what's in store for Earth.

I've been reading your continuation of sg1. Congrats, Great stories.
I was wondering what happend to the Nox, now that they formed an alliance with the other major powers in the Galaxy after the ORI defeat. Will they play a major part in the upcoming eps?, and if there's a sort of secret conexion between Nox and the Furlings you introduced this season. Taking into account the Nox were members of the alliance with asgards/Ancients and Furlings.

                Also thank you

Yes, as far as this continuation is concerned, the Nox saw the need for another Alliance and united with the other powerful factions in the galaxy following the Ori invasion. So far, they've featured pretty prominently in my Season 11 and 12:
                S11: "Sol, Part 2"
                S11: "A New Day Dawns"
                S11: "D Day"
                S11: "Into the Aether"
                S11: "Retaliation, Part 2"
                S11: "Amazing Grace"
                S12: "Requiem, Part 1"
                S12: "Requiem, Part 2"
                S12: "Resurgence"
                (And numerous mentions in others)

In Season 11, they mostly showed up to save Earth's butt, and so far in Season 12 they've done much of the same. But that may change soon... and either way, the history between the Nox and Furlings was described in Daniel's vision in "Requiem, Part 2." They have no connection now, at least not that I'm aware of.

That said, the old Alliance may come back to haunt the new one, so stay tuned

(Last bit in second post, too long)

                    12x17 "Mirror, Mirror"
Synopsis: Arriving on a strange new world, SG-1 is plunged into a international World War. Meanwhile, crisis erupts on Earth when the Russians appear to make a move for the stargate.
                    Spoiler:
Mitchell and Daniel are in the men's locker room at the ISGC, gearing up for a mission offworld. As they lace up their combat boots and pull on their vests, Jackson makes a passing comment about how they've been getting a lot of civilian gate traffic lately, to which Mitchell seems surprised. He had no idea that civilians had been using the stargate, and asks what Daniel means.

While they finish pulling on their gear, Daniel explains; a few months ago, the President signed a treaty with the other UN nations that would allow civilians with appropriate economic, political, or social needs to use the stargate to travel to "safe" worlds, meaning places like Dakara, Chulak, Hebridan, Heliopolis, and others. A few Earth-based corporations are actually selling products on Jaffa worlds... iPods loaded with traditional Jaffa music are particularly popular.

Now that Mitchell has heard, literally, everything, the two make their way out of the locker room and down the hall to the gate room. A few Greek and South Korean soldiers pass them, but it is clear that the personnel here are still overwhelmingly American-born. When they step up to the stargate, they find Vala and Carter waiting for them (Teal'c, after the events of "Nightmares", is taking some more time off on Chulak). Walter begins dialing the gate to P3X-469, a world that has yet to be explored. The MALP revealed a barren area around the gate, and it is assumed that the planet is either uninhabited or the populace lives far away.

The wormhole stabilizes and the team departs, Landry calling behind them to remind them that check-in will be in 6 hours, to which Mitchell merely waves his hand at. As they watch the gate shut down, Landry shakes his head at Walter and mutters that Mitchell's attitude is probably going to get him killed one day, then chuckles to himself and heads upstairs.

On 469, the team is just stepping through the stargate, blinking in the harsh winds that are roaring by. A barren, gloomy landscape sretches out from the gate, which is itself sitting between two massive boulders in what appears to be a mountain range. In the distance, dull thumping sounds can be heard, which Mitchell guesses are some strange natural occurance. But Carter wants to get a look, so the foursome begins trudging up the nearby hill in the direction the sounds appear to be coming from.

As they make their way up, Vala asks Daniel how Earth has been coping with the revelation of the stargate, as she doesn't really find news stations all that interesting. He, along with Carter and Mitchell, explain that there have been both plusses and minuses to that issue. On the one hand, international standard of living has skyrocketed with the use of alien advances, and the crime rate in Western nations has dropped to remarkable levels. On the other hand, the developing world is facing mass riots as dictatorships refuse to let their citizenry have access to offworld technology, and religious sects across the globe have begun protesting the use of the gate, and demand it be shut down. The Pope even declared the United States and any gate-using nation an "enemy of God", in reference to their negotiating with non-human (and therefore demonic) beings.

But on the whole, the world is better with the gate exposed. China's communism-based government is verging on collapse, and experts predict that within three years a democracy will have emerged at last there. Even better, the global economy has shot through the roof with the realization that there are thousands of planets out there available for commerce. Things are fairly good.

At last, the team reaches the top of the hill, and the howling wind dies down a bit. And that's when they really hear things. Those thuds they heard earlier weren't some strange alien nature thing at all, but explosions erupting from a massive battle being waged in the valley below. Hundreds upon hundreds of troops are seen rushing at one another, with tanks moving in as well. Artilery strikes (no doubt from far off) are mashing craters into the ground, sening whole groups of men flying.

The four of them look on in horror at this, and several blasts from the battle below slam into the hillside nearby, sending up mounds of dirt. As Mitchell and Carter try and figure out what to do, a trio of helicopter-like craft appear from behind them, hoving next to them (they are using what appears to be maneuverable jets of air as opposed to blades to move). A sliding door opens and a man in very impressive-looking armor demands that they onboard. Daniel tries to explain who they are, but the man calls behind him and a group of soldiers appear in the doorway, weapons raised. Not seeing any other option, SG-1 resigns and gets on the craft, which pulls away from the battle while it's two sister craft head toward it.

En route to wherever they're going, Carter demands to know what's going on and who these people are. The soldier who ordered them on (presumably the commander) merely says that any lies they spout won't help them much and, when he she asks again, he punches her in the jaw. Jackson and Mitchell are apalled, and Cameron immediately attempts to hit the man back, but freezes when he pulls out a pistol and places it on Sam's forehead. Mitchell, taking the hint, reluctantly sits back in his seat to "enjoy the ride."

After some time, the craft touches down in what appears to be a highly-militarized city. This area, unlike the stargate's resting place, is quite pastoral and beautiful, and the cityscape stretches on into the horizon. Tanks are rolling through the streets, and larger hovercraft (similar to the one SG-1 is aboard) are picking them off and flying into the distance; presumably to a battle like the one the team just witnessed. Once the ship is on the ground, the commander of the human troops roughly shoves the team out onto the landing pad, dragging a still-bleeding Carter along with him.

He orders a group of his men to escort Mitchell, Vala, and Daniel to a cell, but mentions that he'll be taking Sam, as the team leader, to meet with his superiors. Mitchell struggles against the men holding him and says to take him instead, but the commander cooly tells his soldiers to just shoot him if he won't shut up after a minute or so. Defeated once again, Cameron falls silent as he and the others are led away.

Meanwhile, on Earth, General Landry is preparing to meet with the Russian President to discuss adding several new Russian offworld teams to the ISGC. As he grabs his jacket and prepares to head to the jumper bay (high-profile military personnel are often transported via jumper now, as referenced in "Homefront"), Walter suddenly bursts into the room, looking frantic. The gate technician flips on the television in Landry's office, and a news bulliten comes on; the Russian's new 304 is approaching the International Space Station... and its weapons have been armed.

While Landry mulls over this disturbing turn of events, Mitchell, Jackson, and Vala are waiting in a typical Earth-like cell on P3X-469. With nothing better to do, they discuss their situation. Jackson guesses that this planet is like Langara used to be, with two or more technologically-equal nations duking it out for no good reason at all. But Vala mentions that she noticed some Origin-esque buildings in the city, which indicates this world was once conquered by the Ori. If that's the case, a war could have erupted for territory each nation had before the Ori invasion, and it's still raging now. But the one thing that stumps them all, Mitchell points out, is the gate. Why would it be in the middle of nowhere like that?

After a few more moments of discussion, the door opens and a man in a military uniform (like the USAF's dress blues, not combat gear) enters, flanked by two guards. The man introduces himself as Commander Liang Kenvil, a high-ranking member of the Omali Federation's military. He explains that the team was captured on suspicion of their being members of a second nation's military, the largely-theocratic country of Vencai, which is still dominated by Origin fanatics. They attacked Omali two years ago, soon after they were subdued by the Ori (Omali, controlling the gate, was able to fare better), and the war has continued even now that the Ori are gone. The Vencai refuse to admit their gods are false, and even killed a former Prior that attempted to tell them that.

But that's all the information the team will get, because they are still suspected of being enemies of the state. The officer demands to know what they were doing by the stargate, and Mitchell tries to explain that they are offworld explorers just trying to meet other races. This, of course, seems suspicious, so the officer asks how they can prove their claim. Daniel grabs his zat and shows it to the soldier, bringing up the point that it is a Goa'uld weapon, and therefore only those with access to a stargate (unlike the Vencai) could have obtained one. The officer still seems skeptical, but for now he agrees that they are not a threat. He moves to open their cell, but the complex is suddenly shaken, and the lights begin to flicker. The soldier and his escorts rush out, leaving SG-1 to wonder what's going on.

Elsewhere, Carter and the commander from earlier are walking towards a doorway at the far end of a corridor, which is apparently where the General of this base works. Through windows in the hallway, the city outside can be seen, with hovercraft continually coming and leaving with troops or mechanized assault vehicles. Suddenly, a missle drops into the middle of the city, annhiliating several large buildings in an instant. The complex shakes violently, and the human commander and his men freeze. Carter asks what's going on, and he replies that that the Vencai must have broken through outermost anti-air defenses and got close enough to fire on them.

Just then, two more missiles come in, blowing up even more buildings. A fourth hits the military complex, and a defeaning boom shakes it. Carter takes this opportunity to grab her captor's pistol and shoots him in the leg, then tackles a guard and sets off at a dead-run down the hall in the opposite direction.

Back on Earth, the Russian 304 is squaring off against the Aurora, each one on one side of the International Space Station. Transmissions into and out of Moscow are garbled beyond hope, but a text-only message originating from the Kremlin is demanding the surrender of the stargate to Russian hands or they will bring the ISS down on America itself. President Hayes is considering having the Thor and Valiant, both hovering over Western Russia, simply attack Moscow if they make a move on the station, but Landry (now in Washington) thinks that would only cause more trouble. For the moment, Hayes agrees, and they keep trying to convince the Russians not to do anything...

(Last bit of "Mirror, Mirror". See previous post for first part.)

                      Spoiler:
Meanwhile, Mitchell, Daniel, and Vala are trying to come up with a way to escape (the facility is now shaking constantly) when Carter barges in, breathing hard. She says she found a computer terminal and managed to track down their cell. She also explains what's going on in full; the Vencai are attacking the city, and it's likely it won't last much longer. Carter also knows the reason for the war now; the two sides are fighting over the stargate, which was lost in the wastelands when the Omali attempted to transport it to a new base and its ship was shot down. The Vencai were furious that it was not revealed to them sooner, and attacked... much like what could have happened with the Chinese and the United States.

The four of them grab some weaponry from guards Sam knocked out and make their way outside (in the panic, no one is really paying attention to them) in time to see a row of tanks firing down into the metropolis. The Vencai army has arrived in full, and the Omail can't seem to find the defenses they need, and are being toen apart. Mitchell mentions the hovercraft that they arrived in, and Vala suggests they use it to get back to the stargate before this city is destroyed. (The team now fights their way to the hovercraft, shooting guards along the way in non-critical areas as they can)
SG-1 gets onboard and Carter, having watched the pilot earlier, gets the craft shakily into the sky. It heads off towards the gate just as the military complex's heart is struck by a missile, and it explodes.

The ISGC is in a panic, meanwhile. A shootout is about to begin in orbit, and no one can get a hold of Moscow. Suddenly, the gate activates and SG-1 comes running through, ordering Walter to close the iris. He does so just in time to avoid a massive explosion behind the team (a tank opening fire on them, as Carter says she had to crash-land the hovercraft near Vencai forces). Walter quickly fills them in on what's happening, and Carter takes a look at the comm bandwidth. Almost at once, she sees something; the same jamming codes Garrin used against them on the Furling warship ("Takeover"). He must have somehow hacked into the Russian 304 and done this to try and provoke Earth into nuclear war.

She hacks through the jamming code and finally establishes a link to Moscow, where frantic Russians are trying to explain that they have lost control of their ship and cannot reel it in. Now that they know the extent of the problem, Mitchell gets a line to Landry and tells him to destroy the Russian 304 at once, as it has no one aboard (the crew was beamed to a remote region of Siberia, apparently). The Aurora fires, destroying the other ship before it can truly respond.

A few days later, it all comes out; one of Garrin's men was able to get onto Earth and uploaded a viris into the Russian vessel's computer core, causing it to beam off the crew and move against the ISS. The jamming was, of course, to prevent the Americans from figuring it out in time, hoping that the automated messages the ship was bouncing off Moscow's comm. systems would provoke them to attack Russia itself and set off war.

While the team mulls over their excursion on P3X-469 (now locked out of the dialing computer), Daniel realizes a sobering truth; this incident with the Russians is exactly what could have occured had they not revealed the Stargate Program to the world before. What happened on 469 was a terrible tragedy... one Earth narrowly avoided itself.

                        12x18 "My Enemy's Enemy"
Synopsis: Hoping to find a new ally, the team contacts the Lucian Alliance hoping for a possible ceasefire in the face of their mutual threat.
                        Spoiler:
Heliopolis is a busy place, it seems. Just in front of the stargate, SG-1 (still no Teal'c) waits with various representatives from the Jaffa, Tok'ra, Nox, and Hebridanians, all of whom are staring intently at the gateway. Vala expresses doubt that this venture will not succeed, but Mitchell reminds her that they don't really have a choice anymore, and that they need all the help they can get if they want to stop Garrin's fleet from steamrolling over the rest of the galaxy; the rest of the Alliance have agreed that if his ships could take on the Aurora, they could easily take on anything they have.

The gate begins to light up, indicating an inbound wormhole, and the assembly of dignitaries step back to avoid the "kawoosh". After the puddle stabilizes, a group of soldiers step through, all wearing Lucian Alliance uniforms. And then comes another man, who Colonel Mitchell recognizes instantly; Kefflin, a high-ranking Lucian member who he once impersonated. Apparently, he has taken command of the organization following Netan's assasination.

Kefflin regards the Alliance members warily, his hand constantly at his holster. He claims to have come only because they mentioned Garrin, a former subordinate of his, and wants to hear what information they have on him. Regardless, he shows extreme distaste for all those around him, the humans especially.

Still, the fact that he came at all is a start, so the Nox representative (now wearing clothing more akin to that of the Lanteans, not the fairy-like clothing observed in "The Nox") motions for Kefflin and his men to follow her to the conference room. As he passes by SG-1, the Lucian leader glares venomously at them, no doubt due to the problems they have caused his group in the past. But they know that he would not dare try to harm them here, not with the complex filled with a cross-species group of soldiers that would gun him down at once. His looks are only just that; bad looks.

Following behind the group of arrivals, the team discusses the odds of this working. After the revelation of Garrin's sizeable fleet ("Takeover"), they knew that had to find help, and the only other faction that could be of service is the Lucian Alliance. But Vala remembers her time as an associate of theirs, and reminds her friends that they will only agree to help if they can prove that it will benefit them in some way. And considering the disasterous results of their last deal ("Camelot"), she doubts they'll be swayed easily.

At length, everyone is seated in the conference room (save the Lucian Alliance soldiers, who are standing around the room along with Jaffa guards), and the discussion opens. Anise, here for the Tok'ra, lays out the Alliance's proposal for Kefflin; the rogue Lucian commander Garrin has amassed an armada of ships with advancements rivalling those of the Tau'ri and Nox, and they are extending an offer of mutual defense in order to guard against him.

Caught somewhat offguard, Kefflin asks how Garrin could have possibly gained access to such technology, citing that he disappeared with only a tel'tak into the galactic edge at the dawn of the war with the Ori, saying he would search for worlds they could claim that were out of the warzone. He has not been seen by any in the Lucian Alliance since. Carter informs him that they've encountered him numerous times, and that he's become very powerful, whatever the case. She mentions his attempted attack on Heliopolis, his shadow control of the manufacturing centers of Cindari (further investigation by the Tok'ra confirmed this), his annhiliation of several Jaffa and human worlds, and his most recent victory, the capture of a Furling warship.

Now Daniel holds up a hand, though, for he has a question to ask. He tells Kefflin that men in Lucian Alliance uniforms and using Lucian Alliance weapons and ships have been reported attacking outlying Jaffa planets, and attempted to destroy Earth's colony on Nueva. He quite clearly implies that Kefflin was behind it, and asks if he was. But the Lucian leader looks shocked, and says that he has been consolidating his forces and protecting his trading convoys; he hasn't launched an attack into Jaffa or Earth space in months.

This revelation, though, doesn't help things much. If Kefflin wasn't behind those attacks, it means that Garrin was, and this means that his influence is even more far-reaching than they had thought. Everyone is surprised by this, as it suggests that their new enemy has some sort of plan, his actions being so purposeful; attacking outlying Jaffa worlds while posing as legitimate members of the Lucian Alliance would cause tension between the two factions, thus throwing suspicion off of him. This allowed him to take control of Cindari (no doubt how he has been gathering so many ships) unnoticed, and more-or-less move freely around the Milky Way. But for what?

Back on Earth, an incoming wormhole has everyone on edge; Hebridan, Chulak, Dakara, the primary Tok'ra base world, and the Nox homeworld are all reporting continuous dial-ins with no one coming through (via subspace communications). Someone is purposely cutting off gate travel to and from the Alliance capitals. General Landry is meeting with Dr. Lee and a group of ISGC scientists, trying to come up with a way to determine which planet is doing this to them. Lee suggests that when the stargate shuts down, they check its buffer for the last few addresses it connected with and determine out of those which would be a likely cantidate. The General agrees, and they wait.

Kefflin, meanwhile, is taking a stroll of Heliopolis while the Alliance members talk amongst themselves. As he turns a corner, he runs into Mitchell, who was on his way back to the conference room himself. The two regard one another wearily for a moment, then Cameron relaxes and holds out his hand. The Lucian leader, however, doesn't seem quite ready to forget what Mitchell did in his name in the past, and simply shoves him out of his way. But he pauses when Mitchell asks if Garrin was a friend of his before his betrayal.

Slowly turning back around, Kefflin replies that yes, Garrin was once a very good friend of his; they even joined the Lucian Alliance together. Cameron asks what he was like, and Kefflin takes a moment to respond. He says that Garrin was once a man of vision and opportunity, who would spend days planning out visits to foreign worlds to capture every element of possible combat strategy and negotiation with the people there. He almost romanticized the Lucian organization, never harming people if he could help it. He speaks almost wistfully of him, but suddenly seems to snap out of the reverie and remembers that he is supposed to be an antagonist. He simply tells Mitchell that that is in the past now and storms off.

On Earth, the gate has finally shut down, and Lee goes to work at once hacking into the buffer. After a moment of frantic typing, the gate dials up again, but he manages to extract a list of 20 gate addresses just in time. He and his team of scientists begin cross-referencing the worlds they got with ones in their databse, ruling out any human or Jaffa worlds they find... which leaves three possibilities. Landry dispatches the 3 American 304s, one to each planet, to check them for signs of the attack.

Finally, the talks on Heliopolis are picking up again, and the conference room doors close. Carter asks Kefflin if he accepts their offer, but he flat-out refuses to work with them. Garrin has yet to threaten the Lucian Alliance (besides attacking in uniforms and ships that seem to be theirs), so he sees no reason to fear reprisal. That's when the Tok'ra representative reminds Kefflin that just by coming here, he may have made himself a target for attack. Even if he has no plans to help them, Garrin may well attack just to make sure he never vists any of the Alliance factions again.

This enrages Kefflin, who storms out of the conference room. Vala sighs and says she'll get him, and runs out after him. She finds Kefflin standing near a large window overlooking the ocean. Reminding him that she was once a member of his organization, she points out that Garrin has proven that he has the technology and the numerical factor necessary to threaten the entire galaxy, not just the races that are part of the Alliance. He quietly admits that there is nothing he would like to do more than help them, but the council of Seconds ("Company of Theives") would never stand for such a proposition, and would no doubt have him killed.

While Vala keeps trying to convince him, the Valiant drops out of hyperspace over a desert planet. The ship's commander scans the area around the stargate for energy signals, and finds that the gate is, indeed active. But before he can do anything about it, a hyperspace window opens in front of them, and a trio of ha'tak emerge, weapons blazing. Transponder signals indicate that these ships are Garrin's, and he must have somehow known they were coming. The Valiant fires back, but these ships have also been upgraded (like the ones in "Collision"), and they may not last long.

On Heliopolis, Vala seems to be making more progress. She manages to talk Kefflin into coming back to the conference room, and they turn to go. But suddenly a gunship (identical to the one seen in "Secrets and Lies") de-cloaks outside and fires into the side of the building, blasting through the glass with ease. Vala manages to dive behind a computer terminal for protection, but Kefflin is ripped apart by plasma blasts. Even as al'kesh (parked in Heliopolis' hanger) rise up to engage the ship, it cloaks again and soars off, escaping.

The rest of the team runs in then, having been alerted to the attack. Carter asks Vala if she's alright while Mitchell runs to check on Kefflin, but it's clear that he's too far gone to save. Just before he slips into darkness, he mutters to Mitchell that there's no stopping Garrin... if he can reach here (and he's sure he was behind this, as the Tok'ra suggested) he can reach anywhere. Then he dies.

Some time later, the team is assembled at the stargate, waiting to go home. But then someone dials in, prompting Jaffa and Earth soldiers to run up to the gate with weapons raised; but it's only ISGC contacting them. Landry informs them of what was going on, and says that the Valiant was able to beam a nuke down on the planet that kept dialing Earth, shutting down the gate. After that, Garrin appeared to back off, no longer dialing Alliance strongholds, but they have no doubt that he's only conserving men for something bigger.

Carter mentions that there must have been a lot of people down there, for a single nuke to cause him so much grief... Landry quietly admits that they detected around a hundred personnel on the planet, but it was necessary to stop him, and whoever was down there was serving an enemy of the Alliance. The Valiant couldn't last much longer anyway, so he claims they had no choice.

Still, at least that crisis is over... but Vala regrets that Kefflin had to die. She was sure he was about to come around, but Mitchell mentions that some people never change. Nodding solemnly, they watch as the gate shuts down and re-dial home...

                            12x19 "Debrief"
Synopsis: SG-1 is called before the United Nations to summarize the state of the galaxy before a summit with leaders of the Jaffa Nation.
                            Spoiler:
This episode is a clip-show, in order to save money for the rest of the season (should it have existed), and also to give the audience a recap of how things have gone. The United Nations will be expecting an analysis of the threat posed by Garrin and his followers, the Aschen, and any other enemies out there, and SG-1 will relate thier advantures over the last year.

SG-1's summary: Zanous Garrin, a former member of the Lucian Alliance who vanished into the galactic rim almost two years ago, attacked Heliopolis when the Nox attempted to form a new Alliance of Great Races. He was pursued across the galaxy as he used subterfuge and raiding tactics to amass a great deal of ships and weaponry, then managed to locate and take control of a Furling warship despite SG-1 intervention.

The Furlings themselves were revealed to have fled the Milky Way after an AI of their creation took control of their fleet and attacked their allies. Despite their efforts to stop what they had started, the Furlings felt the other Alliance members would never trust them again, and ventured out into the galactic void to look for a new home. They subsequently disappeared and were never heard from again.

Stay tuned to this thread for the Season 12 finale, "Shatterpoint"!
