But what happened to GUS? (Mummy on the Orient Express)

I wonder if we'll ever find out who or what GUS was?

Also why didn't the Doctor go back to St. Pauls and retrieve the timelord technology, like that huge hard drive that was sitting there?

GUS will no doubt be Season 9... ?!

And... er... did you then just jump to a completely random other question?

I think he didn't go back to etc because he knew the Master had drained the device's power cell by putting so many minds into it, thus rendering it as useful as a man in a bra shop.

Yeah sorry about jumping around to the other question.

It may have been drained but what about people taking it and reverse engineering it. UNIT are not useless..... I don't think even if I were the Doctor I'd want them to have time lord technology even if it's a hard drive.

Ahh, but the Doctor knew also that once the power was drained, the device would automatically transform into its original form - a box of peanut brittle - and be eaten by the next passing ravenous housewife. All wrapped up, you might say.

I'm sure Moffat's answer, if any ever comes forth, will be just as elegant.

Ach, you know the Moff - things only exist until they don't have to.
