    Who was YOUR Doctor?

For me Tom Baker was THE DOCTOR.

Pretty much he's the one that was MY Doctor growing up.

He was hands down the Best Doctor .......

He was the one that I watched growing up and the one I call my favourite Doctor.

That series introduced me to the previous ones and I've been an on and off fan ever since then.

Of the new Doctor's I liked Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, and Peter Capaldi...... I'd like a more brooding darker Doctor though..

Matt Smith. When he was The Doctor, I finally understood what people meant when they said "____ was MY Doctor."

CE DT and CP are now all on the same level as "my Doctor" they're pretty good......

I'd like the Doctor to get even broodier and darker.

This is a question I can answer. I can never say when someone asks who my favourite Doctor is, because to me they are always the same man and I love them all. But if someone asks me who was "YOUR Doctor", I think of that as a completely different question. "Your Doctor" is the Doctor who got you into Doctor Who. The Doctor that got you completely hooked. The Doctor where you finally got it.

So even though I started watching Doctor Who with Jon Pertwee, it was Tom Baker that became My Doctor.

I was a bit too young while watching the Pertwee era. The music frightened me, the title sequence frightened me and most of the episodes involved me hiding somewhere. But with Tom I became an avid watcher. I felt safe and he was a protective presence. He still is. For me, Tom Baker is the Doctor.

I became a fan just towards the end of the David Tennant era, so i guess you would say David Tennant was MY Doctor, but i really liked Matt Smith so if someone said who was YOUR Doctor? i would say Matt Smith, i miss the Raggedy Man, Peter Capaldi is good but so far no where near as good as Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant or Matt Smith IMO

I haven't seen much of old who so i cant really say any doctors before Christopher Eccleston

As far as companions go, i think im gonna say The Ponds, no suprise there right? tho i kinda hope even tho John Barrowman is great on ARROW, they would bring Back Jack Harkness to be a companion with Peter Capaldi, i think that would be cool

I do also really like Donna aswell

Christopher Eccleston. His acting is just 10x better than every other Doctor combined. I love each one, but 9th is just in a whole other league.

MY Doctor is Matt Smith. It was Eleventh Hour and onwards that hooked me and made me a whovian. Even after watching all of the new series multiple times and about half of the classic series, and enjoying several other incarnations of the Doctor, it still always comes back to Matt for me.

Started with Eccleston, really started watching with Tennant and that was my first "regeneration sadness", fell in love with DW with Smith. Cant miss an episode now...

Great answer Blen, and I have the same experience of being scared of the music and opening sequence. The only difference with our stories is that I have been watching from the very first episode, with William Hartnell as the Doctor. I think that I began to appreciate the show better when he regenerated into Patrick Troughton's Doctor. (I was 7 years old when this happened, so I think I had a better understanding of the stories by now). I loved his childishness and his recorder playing.

I didn't start watching until the new series, but I think 10 was probably my Doctor.

I have to say that I don't do "favourites". I will say that my childhood Doctor i.e. the Doctor that really caught my attention as to what Doctor Who was and is and where it can go and what it could be each and every week, is Sylvester McCoy and his era from 1987 to 1989. At age 6 in 1987 and watching Sylvester's first story Time and the Rani and seeing that pre-opening title sequence of the TARDIS tumbling through space and time and then being blasted down on to an alien planet...that blew my mind! And so I was well and truly caught within the Whoniverse!

                            Where it began for me:

But...even before that, I'm fortunate in that I was born into a family in which I have two cousins who were fans since the days of Jon Pertwee and so they sort of educated me into the world of Doctor Who from a very young age. William Hartnell through to Colin Baker were all my childhood Doctor and made real through my cousins but Sylvester really imprinted himself on my childhood as he was my first real experience of Doctor Who on TV.

I didn't start watching until the reboot in 2005, and I really liked Christopher Eccelston. He left too soon. I loved David Tennant, and he is the one I call my doctor. I liked Matt and Capaldi, too, but really enjoyed seeing 10 back in the 50th special.

Out of all the Doctor's relationships, my favorite is Doctor/River Song. Was not a big fan of the Rose romance with 10, I rather liked him with Madame de Pompador.
