    I thought Teyla was smart?

Even before Baldy was revealed to be listening in, I knew Teyla would eventually slip up, probably when she "interrogated" the team.

I thought she was smart. With Wraith around, possibly overhearing things and with the inhabitants of the hive already suspicious or at least only reluctantly following her orders, she should've known better than to blow her cover.

A smart way to do it would've been through "code". While I was watching the episode, I went through what she should've said in my head, something along the lines of:
"We've met before, Lanteans. I was queen of another hive then, but I'm supreme queen of this alliance now. Any attempts to escape will have dire consequences! If you stay complacent and do not resist, I will make your deaths as painless as possible, after I'm through interrogating you personally."

All the while making eye gestures or whatever. That's what I've would've done in her position, not adopt some weird non-Wraithy voice and address them all by name and go all friendly.

If Teyla used code then Baldy would know based on Rodney's exclamation "Teyla!" when she first appeared. So either way someone would have slipped up and there would be a thread dedicated to how someone thought so-and-so was too smart to slip up.

I can respect that you would have used code if you were in her place, if that's what you're saying. I would have too. There's probably a number of people who would.

However, one of the things that makes a TV show interesting is conflict. Conflict isn't possible if all the characters make the right decision for any given situation. In fact, a version of SGA in which all the characters behaved perfectly under duress would be very boring and have a very tale-of-how-we-defeated-the-Wraith feel to it.

Rodney wasn't very loud when he exclaimed "Teyla!", but that was moronic, too. She was walking around freely, obviously not a prisoner and he blows her cover.

But at least then Teyla wouldn't have incriminated herself and Baldy wouldn't have had much to go on.

I find it boring when the characters make horrible mistakes they're not supposed to do considering their supposed intelligence and experience.

            Not really.

Todd: I knew that if you presented yourself as a viable substitute, most of them would just fall in line.
            Teyla: "Most" of them?

So unless Teyla had forgotten that important tidbit...

Loyal yes, stupid no. This was the part that ruined it for me. Teyla is an intelligent woman, this was way out of character. This was the second stupid if not idiotic decision she made. The first one was to let her feelings control her and attack that hive ship. Hello? She was on a mission far more important than destroying a single hive ship...

Her lack of judgment was appaling and it ruined the episode for me.

She dismissed the guards if you remember correctly.

And she should have had Todd deliver a message. That I can agree with.
