NEW ANIMATED SERIES STAR WARS REBELS COMING FALL 2014

May 20, 2013

Production has begun on Star Wars Rebels, an exciting, all-new animated television series based on one of the greatest entertainment franchises of all time. Scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, it will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.

Leading the development of the series is a creative team of exceptional talent. Screenwriter/producer Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class, Sherlock Holmes, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) is an executive producer on Star Wars Rebels and will write the premiere episode. He is joined by Dave Filoni as executive producer, who served as supervising director of the Emmy nominated Star Wars: The Clone Wars since 2008. Executive producer Greg Weisman brings with him a wealth of animation experience with credits such as Young Justice, The Spectacular Spider-Man and Gargoyles.

Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide, said, "The entire team at Lucasfilm has provided extraordinary creativity and innovation for over three decades, and we're thrilled to be bringing the expansive and imaginative world of Star Wars to Disney XD's viewers."

"I couldn't be more excited to explore new corners of the Star Wars universe," said Kathleen Kennedy, president, Lucasfilm. "I think Star Wars Rebels will capture the look, feel and fun that both kids and their parents love about Star Wars."

The action-filled series is set between the events of Episode III and IV -- an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen. Star Wars Rebels takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape. Details about the show are a closely guarded secret at this point.

Star Wars Rebels will be produced by Lucasfilm Animation, featuring many of the key talents that made Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Fans attending Star Wars Celebration Europe will be the first to get an exclusive look at the new series. Casting will be announced at a later date. More information about this developing project will be found on StarWars.com and on Facebook at facebook.com/starwarsrebels.
One of them is a link to this: http://starwarsblog.starwars.com/ind...tay-on-target/
It says, and I quote, "In those first dark days it seemed certain the bright flame would be extinguished before it cast the light of new truth."

Another thing. One folder says this: SK_DF_GW. That is one of the game folders for Dark Forces, which has things on Imperial and Rebel stealth missions. It takes place during the Dark Times.

In the background for the video in the Vine video, you'll notice that Dave Filoni also has some of the following items. A circle piece of paper, with a few lines on it. This is the Death Star, and how it looked at about 18.9 BBY. Next to it he has a statue of Ahsoka, a Darth Vader mask, R2-D2, and an AT-AT walker.

I would also like to call to your attention a recent tweet by the Keeper of the Holocron. "I have the first line of the opening crawl for The Empire Strikes Back stuck in my head." Guess what those magical words say? "It is a dark time..."

I did a bit more research on that TIE Fighter drawing as well. Just a few years before A New Hope, TIE Fighters would be connected to cranes when not in use. That changed a few years later, when The Dark Times was over.

Now what if the new domain names have some thing to do with this new cartoon thing Dave is working on?
The Wolf Pack is what Dave calls his troopers he made in the Clone Wars. So *Star Wars Wolf Pack* and *Wolf Pack Adventures* would add up as something he would do...

*Disney, Lucasfilm Partner With EA For "The Future Of Star Wars Gaming"*...

Disney, Lucasfilm Partner With EA For "The Future Of Star Wars Gaming"

StarWars.com has just announced that Lucasfilm will be entering into a long-term partnership with Electronic Arts to produce Star Wars video games for a variety of platforms. The deal will involve game development contributions from EA's DICE, Visceral, and BioWare teams.

Right after The Walt Disney Company bought Lucasfilm, company executives expressed interest in using the Star Wars intellectual property to target new gaming platforms. That worried some hardcore gamers who thought that PC gaming was no longer a priority for LucasArts. Then, when Disney closed LucasArts on April 3rd of this year, anxiety levels among Star Wars gamers rose even higher.

Today's announcement will be seen as welcome news by that community. The release promises that "EA studios will develop for the core Star Wars gaming audience" while the House of Mouse's internal game designers at Disney Interactive "will focus on delivering new Star Wars games for casual audiences on mobile, social, tablet, and online gaming platforms."

Check out the full announcement below:

Electronic Arts Selected for Multi-Year Agreement for the Future of Star Wars Gaming

May 06, 2013

Today it was announced that Lucasfilm Ltd. and Disney Interactive are entering into a multi-year, multi-title exclusive licensing agreement with Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) for the creation of new high quality Star Wars games spanning multiple genres for console, PC, mobile, and tablets.

Industry leaders and creators of best-in-class blockbuster games, the development and publishing teams at EA will collaborate with the creative teams at Lucasfilm to provide audiences with all-new gaming experiences set in the ever-expanding Star Wars galaxy. As part of the agreement, EA studio teams DICE (Battlefield series) and Visceral (Dead Space series) will join BioWare (Mass Effect series, Star Wars: The Old Republic) in the development of new Star Wars games.

"Our number one objective was to find a developer who could consistently deliver our fans great Star Wars games for years to come," said Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm. "When we looked at the talent of the teams that EA was committing to our games and the quality of their vision for Star Wars, the choice was clear."

While EA studios will develop for the core Star Wars gaming audience, Disney Interactive will focus on delivering new Star Wars games for casual audiences on mobile, social, tablet, and online gaming platforms.

"This agreement demonstrates our commitment to creating quality game experiences that drive the popularity of the Star Wars franchise for years to come," said John Pleasants, co-president of Disney Interactive. "Collaborating with one of the world's premier game developers will allow us to bring an amazing portfolio of new Star Wars titles to fans around the world."

"Every developer dreams of creating games for the Star Wars universe," said EA Labels President Frank Gibeau. "Three of our top studios will fulfill that dream, crafting epic adventures for Star Wars fans. The new experiences we create may borrow from films, but the games will be entirely original with all new stories and gameplay."

More information, including titles in development, will be announced in the coming months. Continue to check StarWars.com for updates on the future of Star Wars gaming.

J.J. Abrams was asked at the Star Trek: Into Darkness press conference in Berlin if composer Michael Giacchino would be directing the music for Episode VII. J.J. stated that while he thinks Michael's work is brilliant in the new Star Trek movies and other TV Shows they have collaborated on, it would be John Williams that would helm the music score for Episode VII. This is the closest thing to an official confirmation we have received about the master music maker returning to our beloved galaxy far, far away!
A friend gave me a heads up about this and that there will be more news about an announcement on Saturday, May 4th about where and when the bonus content will come out.

Plus a great interview with Dave Filoni: http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/2...ation/2122763/
"A source in the know tells me that Lucasfilm is only finishing two story arcs from the material that they had planned for The Clone Wars Season Six. Among the story arcs that will not emerge in this post-cancellation era is one that dealt with Boba Fett and the other bounty hunters who have menaced the heroes for several seasons. This story arc, which my source tells me was almost done, would have shown us the fates of Cad Bane and Aurra Sing."

We believe the two Arcs mentioned could be the "Clovis" Arc, previewed in various trailers and at Star Wars weekends, and an "Order 66" Arc, previewed along with the announcement of the Clone Wars' cancellation. For any Clone Wars fans this is saddening news. It nearly confirms that The Clone Wars will not have a proper ending and many story lines will not have closure.
