...do: go out with your mates to the cinema or stay in and watch Abyss, (you have no other way to watch Abyss soon as you don't have the dvds)
Which would you do?

Stay and watch Abyss of course, it was ok with Shanks playing there. Also some new technologies.

If it was the only way to see Abyss, then skip the film, you can go to the cinema another day and Abyss is one of those 'wow' episodes. Great script, great acting from RDA and MS, and incredible SFX that don't look like effects at all.

Stay and watch Abyss, like Madeleine said you can go to the cinema another day. It's a really great episode.

I would tape Abyss or let someone else tape it for me and still go to the cinema.
I already stay too much at home, i could use some nights off from that. heh :p

Definately, DEFINATELY watch it. It's one of the coolest episodes i've seen in an age.

I would without a doubt watch Abyss, it's one of my favorite episodes, plus all the movies showing where I live stink at the moment.

I take my post back, that's by far the best suggestion yet.

ooh, personally this is a tough call, but I'd say Abyss as the film's gonna be in the cinema for a little longer I'd imagine!

I'd go to the cinema with my friends. The torture episodes are always a little squicky for me. It's a well done episode, but not a don't miss in my book.

Seeing as I've already seen it I'll go to the cinema with friends. It's a great episode and everything but I can watch it any other time if I'm that deperate.

Id stay in and watch Abyss even if I had seen it before. Its one of my top ten favs, I love the camera work, the acting, the characters. The whole episode if brilliant. Then i'd go to the cinema, after all movies are screened every few hours, and Abyss only takes less than 60 mins out of your schedule!

I can't believe you would even ask that.....
Isn't Stargate SG-1 the only thing worth watching over anything else.

Only go if you're going to go with the ladies...otherwise stay home. In either case, tape it so you can watch it again, or over and over and over.

Me and my friends have tight schedules these days, so I'd use that opportunity to go to the cinema. Then I'd buy the DVD on my way home.

I am now going to upset EVERYBODY.
I would go to the cinema, as Abyss didn't really do anything for me. It was OK, but nothing special.

How can you say that!?
This si one of the finest episodes that document Jack and Daniels friendship, MS and RDA were acting their asses off!

I second this thought! Life is short, get out and enjoy your friends! They won't be around forever.. But Stargate will be!!

I Don't doubt that both actors were doing a sterling job, but torture has never inspired me, and I just couldn't enjoy it. Sorry!

I'd tape Abyss so I could go to the cinema and watch Abyss without the bleeding commercials later! :D
Hope you have/had fun whichever you choose!

Oh....definitely stay home and watch Abyss. Even though, I have it on DVD. :p
I just think Michael Shanks and Richard Dean Anderson were just so brilliant in it.
:D
Unless....the movie happens have Michael Shanks in it. I would definitely go see that movie instead. ;)

I must say Abyss ranks low in my list of favorite episodes. I don't like torture (although Baal is a hottie). I thought Daniel's "solution" for Jack was too simplistic and didn't take into account Jack's personality. If Daniel is such a good friend, he should know Jack better than that.

Go with my mates to the cinema. Abyss is decent not an all timer for me and I don't watch reuns that often anyway.

Since SG-1 doesn't air at all in my country, watching it on TV is a rather foreign concept to me. But hypothetically speaking - if staying home and watching Abyss on TV was for some reason the only way I'd get to see it (meaning I couldn't tape it, download it from somewhere or buy it on DVD) then of course I'd go see whatever movie I had planned to see another day instead. You (that is; I) just don't miss an episode of Stargate.

I always choose to chill with my homies...and met new ppl (girls!!! ;)) insted of TV. Life is more important than TV, that's why I don't concider myself a geek :D

Not a hard call for me!
I thought the Acting in Abyss was fab,but I'm a bit of a wuss regarding the Torture scenes.I don't take any pleasure in watching Jack,or indeed, any other,SG character, being tormented repeatedly.
Therefore,I'd choose the Cinema, good company, and while we're at it,we'd go to see Shrek 2 or Lost In Translation.Had excellent reports from some friends about both Films! Can't wait for Shrek 2 release in UK.
Too much RL torture going on around the World, for me to wallow in the Fictional variety.
Sorry!

I'd go out to the cinema. I've seen Abyss already and while I don't think its a bad ep, its not one of my faves either.
Unless the film at the cinema is Attack of the Clones, then I'd rather pluck out my own eyes than watch it. ;)
