I've kept the same name I had on Delphi, mainly becasue I couldn't be bothered to think up another one :P (Lazy I know) And i've seen quite a few posts from people who have the same names as they had on Gateworld.

I use the same name in all the forums i inhabit. You can find "Crazedwraith" at SD.net and spacebattles as well as here.
So i was the same at delephi.
Sarcazmo The Clown
May 2nd, 2004, 02:35 PM
The only thing I changed on my name was to add "The Clown" to the end of it.
(I fear my time hear is starting to infect reality... a few of my friends decided my online name was a good nick name for me, and just a few days ago, it got shortened to 'Mo.)
OK...why does my thing say I haven't posted yet? This is like my third post..I'm confused!!!!
*runs to the "how to" threads*

I use this name in most places online, it helps to make me more readily identifiable and I find it less confusing- both for myself and for other people. ;)

I stayed the same...that way I could still find myself if the lights went out :D
Teal'c
May 2nd, 2004, 04:33 PM
I changed (I'm The_Sholvah BTW) because Teal'c is the username I use on every other forum. (Back in the days of the ILLEGAL SG-1 download site, I joined their then official forum and took the user name Teal'c (With an Apostrophie), I shortened it because it stopped being funny, and everyone kept typing out the whole (With an Apostrophie) bit too :P) Nicknames, such as T-Bone, won't be tolerated :P (It's confusing, since my friend is already T-Bone! :P)

I've been using "xayeidemon" (or Xay, xayeidemonica, xayeidemona...) for a couple of years now. The handle makes me me. Or at least it makes the online me me. Yeah...

Mine's a book title (well the last 3 letters wouldn't fit on Delphi, so it's, um, mostly a book title...) so I guess you could say the same thing about me.

KatG
May 3rd, 2004, 07:20 AM
Changed mine from Kat6919. Wasn't ever supposed to be that, but I hit the wrong keys when I was registering and then just decided to stick with it. Now it's KatG, which is what I use everywhere else. Just makes it easier to keep up with stuff.

My username was "wass1983" but decided to get rid of the year I was born in, "Wass" is better it's short for my name which is Waseem by the way has any body seen "Morjana" or “Pink (Something can’t remember)” I've seen all the familiar names in the new forum except them.

I kept mine. I thought about changing it, since I'm going to have to change it when I eventually have a baby (this name reserved for my future daughter ;) ) but it's too much trouble trying to decide what name to change to. So I'll change it later.

QunStrudel
May 5th, 2004, 04:46 AM
I was QunWun at the Delphi forums, though I didn't post often enough for anyone to notice I'm sure. Now I'm QunStrudel, which is the name I use in most of the forums I visit. QunWun was my attempt at breaking my norm, now I'm back to comfortable conformity. :p

GateGipsy
May 5th, 2004, 10:06 AM
I use something around the name Gipsy wherever I post. My first Delphi name was GipsyColby, but Delphi at it. So I re-signed on as Gipsy6 - Gipsy for Gipsy Hill where I live and 6 for The Prisoner. I wasn't into the Stargate fandom at that time. After I did get into the Stargate fandom I began to sign on everywhere else as GateGipsy, as that seemed to make more sense. Most people misspell my name as Gypsy, but honest - Gipsy is the correct spelling. Gipsy Hill was named in the 1600's for the gypsy encampment here.

Yep, I'm 21!!
I used to be Cozmall over at Delphi but I am now Coz which is what I write under. Not that inventive because it's my actual nickname.
It was originally Cozmo, which only my sister uses now, and that came from a kids TV show called 'You and Me' which was on when I was young! Does anyone actually remember that show because no-one I can find does! I'm not making it up...honest!

crowhop
May 7th, 2004, 02:56 PM
I am actually quite pleased. I got to drop the idiotic plural of my rightful moniker and become all that I truly am - CROWHOP! May she hop in glory!
No more "crowhops" - stupid Delphi made me take that username, so I disliked them from the start. It is only necessary to have one Crowhop. No plurals required.
SGSlugger
May 7th, 2004, 03:14 PM
I was debating on dropping the "SG" part since I wanted it just 'Slugger' but decided against it simply because it would be easier for me. Glad to see that almost everyone from the Delphi forums came over.
Bagpuss
May 8th, 2004, 06:54 PM
My user name on Delphi was originally "Footholder", as I wanted to reflect my favouritism for the S3 ep Foothold (and not a weird fetish about feet!).
I was nick-named "Bagpuss", as a child, because I chose to come home for lunch,so I could watch the programme . I really didn't like getting up on cold mornings,or nasty weather, either, hence the cat-themed nickname!
I felt that the best thing to do on registering here, was to combine the two,so
"F.H.Bagpuss" was the result! :D
Norlioness
May 8th, 2004, 11:03 PM
I've always liked names with the word 'dragon' in them since I'm a dragon :D , according to my Chinese zodiac sign. My AIM handle has 'dragon' in it.
However, when I registered at Delphi, I picked Norlioness. When Gateworld moved, I kept the same username. And I use the same name to register at other lists/forums as well.

Well, I don't know if this thread evolved from page 1 to here, but I'll talk about my username and whatnot anyway. The reason for my username is, of course, Jake 2.0, which I heavily feel shouldn't have been cancelled (especially since they had already OK'ed it for the rest of the season...). I did not ever join Delphi because I absolutely hated the way it was organized... I only like forums that have looks and feels similar to this one.
Emmit Devay

I used this name over at Delphi. It's the name of the "student" we created in college. He's been all over the US and the rest of the world.

- linda_lol
I have more, but I can't really remember them. I usually go by linda_lol, but I decided to come up with a really awesome name like poppy_popcorn! I like popcorn! I just really like coming up with names online! qtpie came from being a lil bit of a blonde, and linda_lol.......... I like the word lol and my name is linda! It goes together! lol! :p
(",) Gater
May 11th, 2004, 05:04 PM
I used to be gaterscaper (someone already had Gater in the DelphiForums - didn't know who though). Plus, it's part of my e-mail address: x_gaterscaper_7@earthling.net - x is for x-files, gater is for stargate, scaper is for farscape, 7 is for seven days (whatever happened to that?!).
Now I'm just Gater. Oh, with the face: (",)
...what an interesting story(!) Hehehe.

Jprime
May 15th, 2004, 08:23 PM
I was never on Delphi. I chose the name Jprime because i became sick of seeing multi-line long SNs full of underscores and numbers so i opted for a simple one word alias. Originally the name was adamantly spelled in all lower-case but im not so picky now that sinility has set in...The pnly times ive changed my name is were some invisible vampire who never posts uses it before i joint the forum...
For those of you who are somehow still reading this boring history of my name...Heres a list of variations:
On startrek.com:jprime
On andromedatv.com:JPRIMEHARPER
On yahoo:jprimex2000
On hotmail:jprime_starship_captain@hotmail.com
On tripod:jprime4.tripod.com(this site really sucks!)
Now even off-line im called JP or Jprime. There it is. the end of my stupid rant. just remember
JPRIME IS NOT THE SAME AS J-PRIME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Matt G
May 16th, 2004, 11:22 AM
Well my default alias pretty much everywhere online is Matt G unless I can think of a more relevant alias.
It was already taken on Delphi so I wound up with MGUK82 and later added in Matt G as a nickname which after a while wound up becoming Matt G from the UK due to a bunch of idiots on another recently deceased Delphi board.

ShadowMaat
May 23rd, 2004, 02:03 PM
I've been known as "Shadow" ever since I first entered the online world. It reflects how I see myself- skulking around in the shadows, unobtrusive and hardly noticed (hey, it was a while ago, and it's still true in real life! :P), plus I liked the air of mystery. "Ma'at" I picked up to make Shadow less generic. I've always been into Egyptian mythology and it seemed like a good way to reflect that AND my interest in Stargate... but being the forward-thinking gal I am, I wanted to make sure it wasn't purely Stargate, so that when my interest in the show died out, I could still use the name. :D
Ma'at is the Egyptian goddess of Truth and Justice, two concepts I take very seriously.

I've had this name online for years. My first netizen name was "Valkyrie," but I wanted a name I could use everywhere, and that was too common. So I started using the name of my (now defunct) band, Jillion. Even that was too common, so I opened it up a little bit and now you can call me Jill, the Subatomic One.

It was just something random I came up with since I like to come up with random stuff (The stargate band name thread says it all)

Mine was given to me nearly 15 years ago by my then pre-teen daughter. When we'd go shopping and she wanted to get my attention (and there being 100,000 other 'moms' about) she started to call me Nola-mom. It stuck and I've been know by that for many, many years now.

Sela

Originally it was 'Selah" but one day I dropped the 'h' and I liked it better. I have always been a big fan of Sela Ward even before ai knew she had a 'thing' with our delicious RDA. After that, she had my undying respect and neverending envy.
If you run into a Sela on any other sci-fi board, it's probably me. :)

SeaBee

Mine has been my nickname for years, I watched a docu. about the American Construction Batallion once, and their nickname was the Sea Bees, and as these are also my initials, I nicked it. Delphi made me SeaBee105, which I never really liked, so I was really pleased to lose the number.
Iskandra

Well, on other forums I'm mostly known as mattiaca (Latin, meaning "the one from the Mattiaci", a Germano-Celtic tribe who were my ancestors...), but in quite a few I'm Iskandra....it's the Arabic version of my RL first name, Alexandra. Whenever I'm in Egypt,. people call me that, and I thought it fitting for Stargate ;)
(Amongst my Egyptologist friends, though, I'm known as Nebet Weshaw - "The Mistress of the Dark Night", one of the hours from the Amduat....er.....sorry, I mustn't forget to switch off Daniel mode when I'm posting.... )
Aphrodite

Since this is the first forum I've joined, I chose Aphrodite because I have always like and admired the Greek goddess, and what she portrays. God knows, a lot of us need this goddess now more than ever especially with whats going on in this world and divorce rates going up.;):);) I think we ALL need romance and love in our life at least once.
zebrok

Was zootbrooklyn at delphi but that name was for another forum on delphi which I joined long before I knew of GateWorld. That name was for a certain group in that forum who were all from Brooklyn. It has nothing to do with anything outside of that forum so I just changed it to the name I normally use. This name, Zebrok, is of a character I created a long time ago in short story for a creative writing class and it has just kinda stuck with me.

Irish, right? It's nice to find someone at Gateworld Forum over 20. Of course I'm assuming you're not prematurely grey. Slainte! ;)
This the first time I have really done any posting and I am over 20+++ years. I took mine from my hair color.
