When was the last time you really, really laughed out loud? The kind of laughter that leaves you breathless and your sides aching because you laughed so hard? What was the reason?

Easy! I've just come from Shadow's Sulky Thread. Turns out we share the same thoughts about British Sausages, and a love of Terry Pratchett!
(Keep it to yourself, but I've always really liked Shadow.) ;)
Actually the TLW thread players usually manage to get me in a similar LOL condition. :D

Saw Shrek 2 yesterday. I didn't laugh as much as my sister did (she was getting loud and embarrassing), but I did laugh a lot. I'm going to have to see it again to find out what references I missed the first time. ;)
The Character Appreciation Thread cracks me up, and Luke always makes me laugh. :)
Aside from that, I dunno. I usually do a fair amount of laughing at work. A curmudgeonly boss, a manager who always takes us seriously, and a teen slacker in love make for a very interesting work environment, especially when I'm added into the mix. ;)

Two times in the last week:
On Monday at school, I had the chicken patty. I bite into it, and when I started chewing, something was crunching rather badly. I guess I had a wierd look on my face, because my buddy said: "Does it taste bad?" and I said: "No, it's just rather crunchy." Well my other buddy said (in the straighest and most serious face he could): "You just ate the prize inside!"
And towards the end of Shrek 2 on Thursday I almost died from laughting.

I'm cracking up right now watching Tom Hanks in "The Money Pit". The bathroom scene when the tub falls through the floor and he begins to laugh hysterically slays me everytime!
I love a good comedy, TV or film.

I laughed at Coupling the other evening, so hard that I missed half the jokes.
I lauged at my sons yesterday. I was in a clothes shop to buy them sunhats, and told them to wait while I went to the till. They interpreted 'wait' as 'set up camp underneath a couple of chairs and remove your sandals to make a wall out of them'. After I'd paid, my attempts to get us all out of the shop were met with "Alright, just as soon as the dragon has attacked and been defeated" from Firstborn. Youngest copies everything Firstborn says or does, but can't actually speak yet. So he just said "Week week habrabrab mrah rrrrrah" but in a very careful way, using the tone of voice that someone might use to a person they thought was a bit dim, and then giving me that 'is that clear?' sort of look. I couldn't help laughing.
They were enticed out by the new hats. But Youngest was still in a Dragon frame of mind and roared and made scary claw hands at all the old ladies in the shop.

"Like a big tub of buttah!" I'm laughing just thinking about it. And the one with Robin Williams on it for two full hours was the best ever! I laughed so hard that I had a splitting headache and my throat hurt when it was over. The man is insane.

At work a few weeks ago, two of my friends and I went to the store, 2 of us stayed in the vehicle while the other went inside. So, we moved the car to the other side of the parking lot. We figured she would see that we moved because it was a small parking lot, but nope she didn't. :D She came skipping, out of the store swinging her bag around (I'm not exaggerating when I say that either) and went to this other car that looked similar to the one we were in. But, guess what, it was locked!!!! We were laughing so hard we couldn't even yell to her where we were. Eventually, she looked over and saw us. But, that's the most I had ever laughed. :D

I was playing fetch with my dog and he went running for the couch with the toy and forgot to jump. Literally forgot to jump. Just slammed into the side at full tilt. He bounced back like something out of a cartoon, shook his head and you could almost see the little yellow stars dancing around his skull as he tried to determine which way was up. By the time he got his bearings, I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. Then, being the dignified creature he is, he proceeded to glare at me with an 'I meant to do that' expression usually seen on cats after they've been observed doing something graceless. It didn't slow down the laughter one bit.

Puss-n-boots cute scenes in Shrek 2 really got me. There's also this picture of me and my brother with my dad from years ago, where we're sitting in a boat, with my dad smoking a cigar, and my brother and I have the worst look on our faces. It's most likely because we were stuck at the time in a little canoe sized boat with this really mean guide. I was on the floor the last time I saw the picture.

Just to let me down, let me down!" etc. etc. I've probably got the lyrics wrong... anyway, he's starts singing this, and then 3 other guys join in, and they are singing this song at the top of their voices, and I couldn't stop laughing, I could bearly breath! :P It was so damned funny! :P

Okay, I am going to try to make this as PG and clean as possible.. but it is the funniest thing that has EVER happened to me!
When my daughter was about 2 years old she was always into everything. Sometimes she would go into mine and my husband's bedroom to watch a movie. My hubby and I keep some um... "marital aides" in a drawer by our bed. Well she had been quiet for a while, and those of you with kids, know that is typically the que to check on them, so I walk into the bedroom and there she is on my bed... marital aides spread all around her, and she is applying some personal lubricant to her face. She turns to me and says "lotion? lotion?" So, as calmly as I can, I pick everything up and put it away, then realize not only is her face covered, but pretty much everything is covered, and she is a mess, so stifling a laugh I tell her "you put too much on honey, go wash some off." By this time, the laughter is building... but then as she is walking into the bathroom, because she is so slippery she falls down. That was it, my husband and I laughed so hard I thought we were going to simultaneously pee our pants.
Anyway, I can't wait until she is older (much older!) to share this story w/ her. I hope this was clean enough for a PG forum!

Ask and ye shall receive. I use this as my sig sometimes. It's MY kinda math! :D
Scientists have shown that the moon is moving away at a tiny, although measurable distance from the earth every year. If you do the math, you can calculate that 85 million years ago the moon was orbiting the earth at a distance of about 35 feet from the earth's surface. This would explain the death of the dinosaurs. The tallest ones, anyway.

There was this other time when me and my friend carly was at a friends house. We were all a bit bored so for the sake of it we decided to make up plays to show to our friends mum and dad. So in the middle of the play Carly had to run out of the room, and on her way out of the room she slid on the carpet and went right underneath there coffee table. We were all in stitches.
and another time when we were round we decided to dress up for a laugh in our friends clothes, so carly put on lime green tartan tie up top, a Pringle cardigan, a gold boob tube as a skirt and denim platform shoes. She also had blue eye cream all over her face. So we went out and about, and we saw a boy from our class so she went chasing after him, but she was running down a grassy hill and she fell. So she was just lying there, it was so funny. :D

What I love is when they came out with those fat free chips (American chips) that had Olean (sp?) in it. One day I looked at the side of the package and the "warning this product may cause" section. OMG. Those of you eating whilst reading this may want to look away.
Anyway it gave this laundry list of possible side affects including explosive diahrea and "greasy discharge". Yup, you heard me right. I don't know why but I was hysterical for like 15 minutes after reading that although it's technically more disturbing than funny. It's like when you read the whole "this product has been known to cause cancer in labratory animals" thing on products containing saccarine (sp?). Sorry finals are just over so my brain is running on empty and I can't spell to save my life this morning.

-Packet of peanuts
MAY CONTAIN NUTS
- On a Swedish chainsaw -
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO STOP CHAIN WITH YOUR HANDS OR GENITALS.
(What kind of consumer phone-call led to this warning?)
- On some frozen dinners:
SERVING SUGGESTION: DEFROST.
- On a hotel provided shower cap in a box:
FITS ONE HEAD.

It's stuff like that which makes you wonder WHY they included it on the label. You know, like the plastic wrap/tin foil boxes which say, "Caution: serrated edge is sharp". You just KNOW that some moron out there cut him/herself and probably tried to sue the company for damages.
I know there's a warning on collapsible baby strollers that says something like "remove baby first". I don't even wanna think about that one!

Here are some more delightful patronising comments from the British Department of Health with my own witty analysis for those of you who just don't get it :p
On a bar of Dove soap: Directions: Use like regular soap.
(and that would be how exactly?)
On Tesco's Tiramisu dessert: (printed on bottom of the box)
Do not turn upside down.
(Too late! you lose!)
On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding:
Product will be hot after heating.
(Really? Let's check.)
On Boot's Children's cough medicine:
Do not drive car or operate machinery.
(We could do a lot to reduce the construction accidents if we just
kept those 5 year olds off those fork lifts.)
On a food processor:
Not to be used for the other use.
(OOO. Cryptic.Now I'm curious.)

It's sad because you know these company's put those warnings on their to cover their bums because some lawyer happy individual will eat one of those cakes or something and even though it's clearly covered in walnuts he could have an allergic reaction and then say "well it didn't SAY it had nuts" and the moron would probably win millions of dollars for pain and suffering. Sad but most likely true.

yesterday in english class.
My school did the Day of Silence yesterday (curse them sideways, back, and front for not making that well known! there was no info! most of us thought it was supposed to be tomorrow!!!) and one of my classmates had gone around all day to people in our english class and shown everyone he saw a note asking for everyone to claim they were doing the Day for english. he got to all but three people! Two people forget they said they'd take part in the staging of the silent class, so there were five people talking other than our two english teachers. so there were 20 people who did not do the Day, but pretended to for class and three of us who did the Day (myself, the guy who staged this, and one of my friends). It was insane. our teachers ACTUALLY thought everyone was doing the Day, even though our teacher almost caught one of the girls who was staging....
"Wait, I heard you speaking before" in responce to this, she shook her head and held up the Day of Silence mission card that lets people know you're doing the Day.... she'd stolen it from one of our other classmates whose school day ended at the end of our spanish class.... But it was epic that he thought we were all doing it...
we must have looked like the most accepting class in the whole school!
And actually, this year had the highest participation in the Day of Silence I've ever seen. And half the people who wanted to do it didn't find out it was yesterday until after the school day started and they were already talking... and counter-intuitively, all my gay guy friends did NOT take part in the LGBT Day of Silence yesterday....
