I watched the pilot and wasn't all that impressed really. As a story The Man in the High Castle is best as a book. It just doesn't translate to tv that well.
Please do me a huge favour and help me be with the love of my life.

Isn't that the universal stand for all books into movies/TV?
It was the best pilot that i saw the last 5 years.
And i'm a little tired from the whining that "this book is not adaptable to tv" or "why they made changes" etc, I agree that many book adaptations in movies/tv were bad, but everybody must understand that a book and a tv script are different things, changes are inevitable.
And if most of the books are not adaptable in tv then we are destined to watch the 1000th cliche because simply without an inspiration from books modern producers/screenwriters are incapable to create anything new.
Let wait until they actually make it a series. Amazon has a nasty habit of announcing pilots going to series and cancelling them down the line.
I think the book idea is a nice concept for a show. I just hope the writers avoid cliches and the rebels taking back America storylines. I hope they show us German and Tokyo and really expand the story beyond America and the people we saw in the pilot.
Alex Zahara was late to the Chicago con because of filming this. Apparently he plays a top Nazi (I almost didn't recognize him because of the short hair and no beard). Apparently they are very encouraged by the early reviews and are already discussing season 2.
