Having seen quite a few discussions on the wraith, it largely depends on how your interpret them in SGA.

The problems with the wraith are such:

*what happened during the majority of the 100-or-so year war with the ancients is completely unknown. Only a handful of snapshots, mostly from the end of the war, are known. Aspects like how powerful the lanteans were to begin with are unknown, how well they reacted etc too. This means that scaling the wraith for power is extremely hard, as we don't quite know what power they faced. After all, a quick check of episodes learns that the Ancients did not seem all that extensively developed in Pegasus. The less opposition from the ancients, the less powerful the wraith need to be.

*What happened during the 10 000 years since is also unknown, as there seems to be a distinct difference between the ancient-defeating race back then and the comparatively pathetic wraith we see now. What happened? We don't know. This makes it hard to scale the wraith in a war with the ancients, and consequently makes it hard to say what they'd do to the empire.

That being said, i can make this discussion very short by taking the current wraith. The current wraith would be swiftly destroyed.
