I need kicks, anyone? Kicks for Cathain? I've got too many unfinished stories.
INCOMONG FOOT UP Cathian's DERRIERE!!! LOL
Okay, everyone, let's take a WIP fic count?
HailDorothy who has about 41 unfinished fics...talk about procrastination!
Always, HailDorothy
Carter: "You, sir, are an incorrigible lunatic!"
Jack: "I assume that's a compliment, Carter?"
Sam: "If you say so, sir."
Jack: "Hey, T, I think she likes me."
Teal'c: Indeed!"
(A typical J/S exchange according to HailDorothy)
Find out why Jack and Sam are "THE CHOSEN HEARTS" at my site:

sigpic Part 2 coming very soon!! (this is a fic btw, not the Fandemonium novel)
I've uploaded my mini ficlet to the Gateworld hosting....so, for some ship...along the lines of the posts from Bren Ren, Uber and ST 1 of the last few days, infused w/some beer and music....
*sigh* Well done!! You need to be inspired more often! Grab a glass of wine, turn on the music, and "get busy"!! Ah...a Shipper is never satisfied! Thank goodness for all you wonderfully talented authors that are willing to share your creative spirits!!
I'm really enjoying all the fic recs! There's nothing like a good Sam & Jack fic for a bedtime story. I try to curl up with one every night.
sueKay, I've been thinking about you ever since you told us about your grades, but I didn't reply immediately, because I wanted to give it some thought. I don't know what it is you really want to do, but have you thought about a career as a graphic artist? You have a good eye, and no longer than you've been around computers, it's obvious that you learn fast. If you were in the States, I bet you could get a job easily.
I'm sorry to hear that the economy is depressed in your area. How far are you from an urban center? There are usually more jobs in the arts/media in those cities. Or, if you decide to work for a year, have you thought about trying to find some sort of job at the university nearest you? Here, that would mean a discount on tuition once you actually enrolled.
It sounds like things are so different there than they are here that my ideas may be of no help at all. But you're too bright a girl not to have a bright future!
Right now, I'm watching an ABC News special on the career of Peter Jennings. For anyone who doesn't know who he was, he was ABC's prime anchor for the past 24 years. A Canadian (He became an American in 2003), he dropped out of high school to take a job in radio, and despite his lack of formal education, he made it to the very top of his profession. People who knew him said he read constantly; about anything and everything. He got most of his education by himself.
Peter Jennings died this week at 67, of lung cancer. But the reason I mention him is to reiterate that even when it seems you're at a disadvantage, there's still hope. I have faith in the spunky, intelligent sueKay I've come to know online.....and I believe that despite this setback, she will find the right road. Just don't give up, girl! You're in a tough situation right now, but if you plan and work hard, you will find the right path. (**clears throat**steps down from soapbox**nods head resolutely)
I'm here but I'm trying to think of something profound to add
About the voting opening, I must say I was surprised to get a nomination for my Teal'c / humor story "Ladies Man" and none for "May I Have This Dance?" or "Someone to Watch Over Me" - especially since those two stories pull in most of my reviews.
And in S/J ship related news, I'm finishing up my "A Major and her Gentleman" series and I need a song to play at Sam and Jack's wedding that will not only work for our lovely pair but allow for romantic interaction for other characters as well (fans of the series might know what I'm talking about). Anyway - any ideas?
Well, since you asked.....I am a big fan, you may recall my earlier mention, of American Classics and the series that Rod Stewart has sung. One of the songs instantly had me thinking of a scene following Sam and Jack's marriage where they are receiving guests' congratulations at the reception and folks are happy and festive. Here it is...the song is playing in the background of my little fantasy... BTW, the effect may be lost without the music. Because it sure sounds great when Rod's singing it.
Our Love is Here to Stay by George and Ira Gershwin
It's very clear, our love is here to stay
Not for a year but ever and a day
The radio and the telephone and the movies that we know
May just be passing fancies and in time may go
But, oh, my dear, our love is here to stay
Together we're going a long, long way
In time the Rockies may crumble, Gibraltar may tumble
They're only made of clay
But our love is here to stay
Night and day, you are the one
Only you beneath the moon and under the sun
Whether near to me, or far
It's no matter, darling, where you are
I think of you, night and day
Day and night, why is it so
That this longing for you follows wherever I go
In the roaring traffic's boom
In the silence of my lonely room
I think of you, night and day
Day and night, under the hide of me
There's an, oh, such a hungry yearning burning inside of me
And its torment won't be through
Until you let me spend my life making love to you
Day and night, night and day
Whether near to me or far
It's no matter, darling, where you are
I think of you
Night and day
I live in an urban conurbation (albeit on the edge) within 50 miles of three cities...unless I have a degree...no-one will give me a career-driven job.
Universities aren't in the habit of hiring undergrads that aren't studying...although my friend Gillian is a clerical assistant at Glasgow.
I'd love to do something to do with one of the following - geology, ancient history, writing or digital art...I'm going to apply for Earth Science...see if I can get that.
Everyone here has been so supportive of me...and the ammount of PMs, emails and posts here has really meant something to me...I'm so grateful I'm part of such an amazing online community.

Thank you Nell! I've got one of his CDs right here and that song might just be the one I've been looking for to use in this scene...thank you!
