View Full Version : The Stargate Recliner of Rage Thread
stargate barbie
May 19th, 2004, 03:59 PM
inspired by the recent segment on conan o'briens show, in which stargate sg-1 was featured (yay).
this thread is meant to act as an outlet for anyone to express their "rage" about any issue as long as its stargate related, preferably in a manner that incorporates some humour, so as not to offend too easily. maybe we could turn it into a debate type of thread if there is any interest for this at all out there.
i personally am a perfectly calm and rational person, and so have no desire at this time to express my rage over any issue ;)
(note: before raging, one might want to check out the forum rules first, just in case)

Furlings! Are they just giant furbies, or are they some kind of hideous sinister lizardlike aliens? Or maybe they are an asgard prank.....I can just see Thor beaming in, pointing at O'neill and yelling 'Gotcha.'

i think teal'c is gradually developing a pretty decent sense of humour. its about time though.
i'll be pretty bothered if we don't get to see the furlings, and if they turn out to be furry, i'll either die of anger or of laughter. probably the last one.
i hope they're scalely. like a race of fish!

I wouldn't mind seeing some Asgard that are actually quite evil..
Nasty sharp pointy teeth, mean looking.
Either that or an Asgard that is a host to a Goa'Uld.
Wouldn't mind seeing glowing eyes on one of them. :)

I must apologise for the odd post I put up yesterday. My only excuse is that I had just started on some fairly strong medication, and my brain was off with the fairies.
My point was that if O'Niell doesn't want to know the reason why something was happening, not happening, going right, going wrong, would work, wouldn't work or was or wasn't readable, then why did he bother asking? He knows his two top explainers are Supreme Geeks in their own fields of expertise, and he can trust them, so why not go with the flow, man? I mean, just chill, set a spell, kick ya shoes off. Y'all come back now, ya'owl.

lol, ahh, you win my seal of approval for the day *hands SeaBee a live seal*
Didn't O'Neill once say to the "Aschen ambassador" - "Never ask Carter how unless you <i>really</i> want to know"
Anywho, there's loads of little inconsitencies that bug me, like Red Chevrons... What the blinking hell? The issue with zat guns annoys me too - how long the effect lasts, uuuhm, what else? The glyphs on each gate - are they the same or different? newly dubbed "Arse Whirlpools" - where did they go?
I'll think of some decent arguement to post on here eventually.

You've forgotten the golden rule. If it's in the movie, it doesn't count :P There are many inconsistancies between the movie and series, and the series wins all the time because it's cool! :P
All gates have the same set of 38 standard glyphs. And Zat effects lasting effects depend on each instance.

Because Ancient Egyptian is based on a symbolic character set rather than an Arabic character set (such as ours), so it's more the pronounciation of the word that counts, not the way it's written in English. In English, each character sounds different depending on where it is in the scentance (look at 'Fish' becoming 'ghoti'), with Ancient Egyptian each symbol sounds the same no matter where you put it in the scentance as it's the ideology that counts, the actually different pronounciation is due to the fact Daniel would have an accent to the Abydonians.

You mean like Ra's previous host in the Stargate movie? :)
That's what i not get from the movie.
Sure you saw an Asgard like beeing when he got blown up, but it didnt really look like a Grey pretty much.
Besides, how would we know that an Asgard was his previous host?
If that was true, i'm sure the Goa'uld would have used Asgard technology already.

generally i tend to agree with the tv shows version of anything rather than the movie's. not because the movie wasn't good, because it bloody well was, but because i don't really like dean devlin (and to a lesser extent roland emmerich) since they slagged off the tv show in the audio commentary for the movie. i'm shallow and spiteful that way :p . plus the tv show has expanded on the whole mythology and potential way better than the movie franchise could've, as far as i'm concerned.

What's with all the flippin' excitement over whether there'll be a Season 9?
Season 8 hasn't even finished filming, nor have any of us Stargate Fans seen anything except some Teasers and Spoilers. What kind of Crystal Ball tech are we using, here?
I mean,I've heard of the phrase "Putting the Cart before the Horse";but in this Poster's POV,IMO,or whatever suits as a Firewall against reprisals from any other Posters, :p(Friendly :p ,BTW!) :Aren't some of us putting the cart before the "Horse's Unconceived Bloomin' Foal", as well?? ;)
I mean why the Heck should there be a Season 9,anyway?
I really don't think we should be stroking the TV Executioners'/Executives' egos,or greed! Not yet anyway! ;)
Nor is it,IMO,a sufficient reason to plead for a S.9 on the basis of how many Seasons ST Voyager, etc, nor the amount of Seasons X-Files ran for!
Let's see Season 8 before picking out curtains and furniture for Season 9! ;)
OK! Done! Happy now? ;)

yeah, i think when a show runs for a certain length of time, it should then be renewed, if you like, on a yearly basis. lets see how season 8 goes before we do season 9. i think about half way through season 8, its ok to add another one.
in my opinion the x-files should have stuck to its original 5 year plan, failing that it should have gone out on season 6, maaayybe 7. its bad when I stop watching a show.
i think so far stargate hasn't disappointed (me at least, barring one or two episodes), but lets see how it goes, hhmm?

But to keep in line with the topic, I'm still enraged at how Dr. Janet Frasier/TR left the show. For me it seemed it was a shock tactic and I still felt her memorial wasn't enough to justify the way she left the show...the whole thing seem rushed. One minute she was there, the next she wasn't. Also Jack O'Neill's reduced schedule limiting his part in the SG1 team, and also leading to General Hammond leaving too.
Well that's my rage moment.

Er....actually he wasn't a teenager, he was a grown man, albeit one that is pretty androgynous, but nevertheless grown up...he's called Jaye Davidson and has played other...interesting roles (There was this film with Stephen Rea where he played a transsexual, and Mr Rea only found out after undressing that he was dating a GUY....)

My chevrons still glow bright red for ya
Simply implies that my gate has enough power to keep going for a bit longer, aaand the second thing to quote from myself:
and just like the Tau'ri said to the Tollan... "Mine's bigger"
this means that it's not the size of your Stargate, it's what you do with it that counts. The Tollan's should've shared their technology through the Stargate, that way they could all still be here!

I find it extremely irritating that people older than I am don't know who Heisenberg and Scroedinger are... and I don't mean the cat! Come on, people! Grow a brain! I have funny jokes to tell and no one to tell them to, dammit!
At least most people get the dinosaur extinction joke.
I'm mad at the writers. How could they let themselves be abducted and replaced by trained monkeys!! I mean, I know the ninja squirrels are kinda scary, but if TPTB had just banded together, they could have defeated the furry little monsters and the Nightmare That Was S7 would never have happened! :P
I think it's vastly unfair that they can show full female nudity in COTG, but in seven years we've had no suitable male quivalent. That's sexism, that is!
I have more complaints, but it'll take me a while to figure out a way to word them nicely... and that annoys me, too! ;)

I tried Scroedingers theory on my cat, once. I discovered that when I opened the box it wasn't just alive, but b****y furious as well! :D
That reminds me of a quote (or maybe paraphrase) from a Discworld book:
Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead... although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead and Bloody Furious.
>edit: On reflection, it occurs to me that you may have gotten your quote from there as well. ;) Heh... I need food... and I'm angry about that, too!<
And then there was the whole scene with Albert trying to explain Schroeding'ers theory to Death, who got very upset at the idea that his looking at a cat might kill it. IT'S NOT AS IF I MAKE FACES OR ANYTHING., he said. ;) "Last Hero" in general is a very funny read, and wonderfully illustrated.

Anyway, back on topic, does it drive anyone else nuts when they use the same actors to play multiple characters over the seasons? It's a minor pet peeve but everytime I see it I can't help but think "hey that's the same person who played <insert character here>" and if I'm thinking that then I'm not really concentrating on the what's going on in the show. and as for atlantis, if they ruin mckays character i'll be very very irked.
and it also kind of bugs me that they changed the actress who plays dr weir. now all i'll be able to think when i look at the new one will be. "you're not really dr weir. i've seen dr weir, and you aren't her, you big imposter". regardless of how good she may be, it'll probably still bug me. it was a bit like that the first time i saw the new cassandra, but i got over that pretty quickly because she isn't a main character and we hardly ever see her.
should we get a petition going or something for TPTB to bring back luke? ;)

When I notice it, it bothers me, although this is one instance when having a bad memory and a near pathological inability to recognize faces comes in handy. ;) Usually, when I catch it, I think, "Doesn't SG-1 realize that's <insert character name> from <insert ep/planet name>?"

it doesn't really bother me when they put the actor in heavy make up so that you don't really recognise them, and it didn't bother me when they used the guy who played the ashrak in season 7's revisions, (took me a while to figure out who he was). but sometimes it does bother me. when they changed cassandra, all i could think was, "thats not cassandra.... thats the kid from 'Bane'.... they cheated us out of a cassandra......thats not cassandra....damn them..."
but it never bothers me when they reuse dion johnstone, he's a great actor and he always varies his characters enough so you aren't constantly thinking its the same guy from whatever episode he was in last.
same goes for alex zahara. and when they reused patrick currie (fifth, one of the unas in enemy mine and eamon in space race) i didn't even know which one he was until it was pointed out on the commentaries.
but depending on the actor and the character, and the amount of time between their appearances, yes it can bother me.
ya know, for someone who started a rage thread, i don't really seem to have too much of it. :o

Another thing that annoys me? People who confuse opinion and fact. People who state their opinions as fact and defend that viewpoint (or "fact" as they think of it) violently without even the possibility of considering that other viewpoints might exist.
People who degrade and insult other people just because they don't agree with what that person is saying. People who think that differing opinions are null and void because, "My view is the only correct view, so anyone who thinks differently must be an idiot."
People who dismiss someone's opinion with things like, "You just don't like it because Daniel isn't in it" or, "You're just made because Jonas isn't around any more" or "You only like him because he isn't Jack" and ignore any valid points/interpretations that the person may be making.
People who say things like, "Well, you must have been watching another show." I use it sparingly, myself, and only when it's obvious I'm being obviously sarcastic, but I've seen several people use it and intend it as a serious statement of "fact". It fits in with the whole dismissing someone's viewpoint, but it aggravates me enough to get a mention of its own. ;)

this is exactly why i've taken to stating in those kinds of posts that i am merely stating my opinion on a matter. i hate it when somebody assumes i'm stating something as fact when its just my opinion. how can anyone honestly state something stargate related as fact if it hasn't actually been stated as such by TPTB.

This especially annoys me after taking the time to go into detail about why I feel a certain way, just to have my opinion reduced to nothing. If you disagree with my opinion, that's fine. But, don't act like it doesn't exist and offer up the simplest explanation possible. I know why I don't like something, and I usually go into extreme detail to say it.

if i think someones opinion is so completely out there, and not worth my time as far as i'm concerned, then i wont respond to it. i don't see the point. i'm sure i've had opinions that people thought were ridiculous and stupid and completely unfounded or whatever (like this one ;) ) and if that were the case then i wouldn't expect them to just come along and go, "you're stupid, shut up". if you don't like a thread, don't go there. if you don't like an opinion, and can't respect that a person has that opinion, then just don't respond to it. ignore it. whats the big F****n' deal b****!?! :D

Agreed, Nola! :D
I browsed other SG Related Forums, before deciding to join GW.
One of my main criteria was to find a Forum where the views expressed were "Filth-Free".
I still check out other Forums, out of sheer feline curiosity.
I'd better not name the offending Site/Forum,I'm referring to here.Let's just say that it was SG SG-1/SG Atlantis related.............
To get to the point,I'd visited before to check it out for SGA info and went back to read the POV's a couple of days ago.Found a few cases of real profanity and obvious "Trolling".(Maybe they don't have "Mods"?)
Needless to say, I won't visit that site again !!
No disrespect to the Site itself or most members/posters.Just "Trolls" and those who think the "F" word is a catch-all term.
If anyone ever reads a Troll post anywhere around the Forums, under either my old or new names,I GUARANTEE the Poster is a Fake.FACT!
This brings me neatly to my "Rage".
*TO ANY RELEVANT LURKERS:*
There is no need to Troll,IMO,or use other Posters' names,to cause or provoke offence deliberately!
That's the Coward's way out.
If you can't express your views, except by using profane terms, best left off-forum,regarding ANY aspect of Stargate, then take a good hard look at your own attitude!
Then modify your language, join a forum and debate freely to your Heart's content. Not too difficult, IMO!
There! Rage expressed.

OK, here's a gripe. Several months ago (maybe even many), I started getting messages in my Yahoo Bulk Mail folder from various addresses saying that the email that the Jonas group "owner" was sending contained spam/viruses. After a couple of days of this, I emailed Yahoo admin and asked for help. They basically told me, "tough s***."
Now, suddenly, months later I'm getting emails from Yahoo Admin saying, "We've been receiving complaints..." and that "You've probably been infected..." and "Here's what to do..."
Where the hell were they all those months ago when I emailed them MYSELF asking for help??! GrrrrRRRRRR.....
I suppose I should be grateful that they deigned to realize there was a problem at all... and that there's actually something they can maybe do about it.

On the Site I can't name, some Troll had done much the same kinda thing.
Luckily another Poster rumbled them, and had a good go at them. I think they recognised the "Name" the Troll was using.
Have to say,I reckon some pathetic people have way too much time on their hands. :(
By the fact I read a message in a thread from me - which contained things I'd never say. Plus I can usually remember what I post and where!

Yes, true, but NOW, as it turns out... those lovely admin messages I've been receiving? Fake. All three of them.
I was going to leave the whole mess up to Adele to handle, since she's the actual honcho of the group, but I got fed up and decided to look over it myself. Clicked the "scan for viruses" link and whaddaya know- the attachments for Message 1 contained the W32 worm. So did Messages 2 and 3. So I'm right back where I started. I do get some sick sort of satisfaction from the fact that the Yahoo admin accounts are being scammed, too. I reported the messages to the proper authorities (ha!) so I guess now all I have to do is move on. No use waiting since the stupid b@stards won't be able to do anything anyway. *sigh* It has been a VERY long day. :( Maybe I'll go off to my Sulk Thread and have Luke whip up something special for me and then Jonas can comfort me. :D

But hey! Rage thread! Er! Can I rage about the fact that TPTB have made Stargate unwatchable to me? I can't enjoy it anymore. Even the older eps, now, tend to make me a little upset. hey, if its about stargate, and it bugs you, you can rage about it. the whole idea of this thread is that you can rant about stargate without persecution. although if we could stop it from turning into a ship rage thread that would be great, because i'm not sure, but i think we have enough places to rage and rant about ship. i know i do! :D thats not to say that you are forbidden from mentioning anything that could ever possibly be interpreted as a ship reference here :p but i will say that thats pretty much why i haven't (to my knowledge) expressed my rage about pete here. i don't want it to turn into that kind of thread. :)

A lot of people miss Jonas. Unfortunately, TPTB aren't part of that lot. I know I don't know what "really" happened and I know I never will, but it still seems like a shoddy, horrible thing to do to Corin and I applaud his absolute professionalism in not speaking out against them or the decision. More people should learn from his example.

it wasn't just the fact that she was a goa'uld, i didn't like her before we knew that, i didn't like her after they removed it. i found her just plain irritating. possibly more so than laira, who in my book was quite possibly the most annoying and irritating character so far. i can't help but think sometimes that laira was perhaps supposed to be irritating. i actually have a difficult time rewatching that episode sometimes, just because i can't stand the character. there are very few episodes that i find like that. and usually the character i find so annoying has a bigger part in the episode.
the same goes for jonas' girlfriend, which is a shame because i really quite liked the episode other than that. i just don't tend to rewatch it just because i find her irritating. :(

stargate barbie

you mean emancipation in season 1?
well its simple. as any qualified sci-fiologist can tell you, when one goes to an alien planet, the natives can either speak perfect english, or can learn to speak perfect english very quickly. unless of course the plot requires otherwise, which is an extremely rare occurance.
i see where you're coming from though. it always bugged me that on abydos a lot of the abydonians had learned to speak english. daniel was the only english speaker among them, and he had no difficulty learning they're language. why would they need to learn his?
and the fact that the goa'ulds and jaffa all speak english as a first language. most of the hosts original languages shouldn't have been english. the jaffa are not decendants of english speakers (as far as we know), so why do they all speak english. especially the jaffa, they would have no reason to know english as they are supposed to be slaves. its just one of those amiricanised sci-fi things that has always been present, and due to the extreme cost and effort saving involved, most likely always will be.
sci-fi rule #1 all alien races speak the language most convienient to the plot (usually english), regardless of accuracy or realism.

In the movie novels, Daniel and Shau'ri set up classes to teach the Abydans all kinds of things- including speaking English. But that was because the military was a constant presence and because Daniel was working for the betterment of all the Abydans.
Not that TV-Daniel was probably much different in the urge to teach thing, but you do have to wonder why he'd bother with English if they buried the gate and/or had no intention of ever communicating with Earth again.

I always liked the idea of the stargate messing around with things as you transmit through it. Maybe it picks up on your core language and does something to your neural alignment to make you more receptive to other languages. You may think you're hearing and speaking English when you aren't. And we hear the English because the team does. :P
Of course, that has its own host of problems, but it's better than a babelfish. :P

ah. stargates own universal translator. i prefer to think that the sci fi gods are on sg-1s side. they give all the non english speaking races to sg-5, because they disrespect the sci fi gods. and they don't even have a daniel, the gods killed their daniel, just to make life more difficult for them. and they don't have a gate expert because hammond didn't like them too much either and hoped that they'd get stuck on an alien world without any knowledge of the language.

OK, I'm being horrible and posting twice in a row, but... I just started thinking: there's really something to be said about the fact that Jonas only took one little duffle bag with him when he left Earth. Now, exactly what it says is a matter for debate. Most likely it's a sad comment on the fact that after an entire year on Earth, he still hadn't gathered much in the way of trinkets, mementos, and personal belongings. Probably because most of his stuff was "borrowed" from the base or directly from Daniel (the whole "aren't those MY tools?" thing). I can't help thinking that the only thing in the duffle was the uniform he'd worn to Earth... and maybe his notebooks. :(
Or for all you pathetic Sunny Side people, maybe he saw his work on Kelowna as only being "temporary" and he just took a bare minimum of things and had every intention of returning...
I wish. :(

Luke: say general, don't you think sg-5 have had a pretty rough time of it lately, what with all those planets they seem to end up on, where the natives speak a language unknown to them?
Hammond: you know, you're right son. i think i'll send a linguist along with them on their next mission, just in case.
Luke: well sir, i think dr jackson is the best we've got here, don't you think.

Luke: well sir, if you are speaking to him, be sure to give him this chocolate bar for me, wont you sir
Hammond (looks mildly confused): ehm, yes. sure thing son.

hey shadowmaat. read the first post on this thread. if anyone has a problem with the whole point of this thread, then they probably shouldn't be participating in it. people can only defend their position by making a counter argument or debating the points made here. NO FLAMES ALLOWED. i should have put that on the first post, but i'm stupid so i forgot. if a problem arises, then i'll go back and edit the first post to include that.
basically, people cannot moan at you hear for stating your opinion as long as it is well thought out and not just something along the lines of "stargates crap" and thats all.
the whole point of this thread is to give you a refuge, a place to vent your rage without getting an earful about your "negativity". (and if you happen to mention the good ol' days, when you liked SG, i'm sure we wont complain too much about that. :)
my only request is that we leave ship discussions to the ship discussion thread as much as possible. i'm sure most of us wont mind the occasional reference, but there are plenty of other threads for ship.

ooh i like the latin thing. daniel would definitely fall for that. he'd have to leave it in his lab with a note suggesting it was from sam or something i think. or just fill it with coffee actually, no questions asked then eh?

or maybe its so that jack or teal'c can make replicas of the artifacts they bring back, and break them in front of daniel and make him cry! :D
Ha, that's hilarious. I'd really like to see that.
Teal'c: "I am sorry Daniel Jackson... I did not realize the intrinsic value of that vase." *arches one eyebrow*
*O'Neill rubs his face with one hand, tosses a cat sculpture against the wall with another*

(sorry, I think the drugs DO work!) :D
but he does want to know. he just wants the simplified version. (as do us poor viewers.)

j/k. No worries about "interrupting". We're sort of veering off topic, anyway. Technically. Sorta. Maybe. Er... Oh look, the artifact... :P
Hmm... but is it a real artifact, or a forgery? :D

HAHAHA... yes, I KNEW that juggling had to come in handy sooner or later!
I'd like to see Jackson be the voice of reason amidst all that chaos... "Oh my gosh, Jack, what did you just do with that scepter of Zeus?!? Why'd you break it over your knee? Don't you REALIZE how all the secrets of humanity are stored within it? All that knowledge is now lost forever!" *adjusts his glasses*
I know that's more early-season Daniel type behavior, but still . . . :)

Ya ever get the strange feeling someone is messing with your head? Barbie? ;) I'm happy enough to have plan boy onboard, although I'm not quite sure why he's here and I'm beginning to wonder if it's all an act. I know he's only seen a few eps, but his descriptions just sound... odd. But then again, I'm a naturally suspicious person. ;)

Muahaha. There is no escape! ;)
We'll have to keep an eye on Mr. Plan. That nonsense about a Day After Tomorrow series is probably just a smokescreen for whatever nefarious plan he's attempting to carry out! :S
Or maybe he's Roland Emmerich in disguise!
Or maybe I invented him myself as a way of testing you... *cues spooky music*

I agree on the whole waiting for the stupid dvd's to come out. I keep hearing the people from across the pond describing the audio commentaries on the season 7 dvd's and it's driving me batty. I want my dvd's NOW! Patience is not my strong suit.

My rage is against SUB-Vice President Kinsey... what a sleaze! I wanna see him get punished, bigtime, by series' end!! Here's a few others I want to see get their proper comeuppance on the show, courtesy of SG-1 and friends (I hope O'Neill at least throws a few one-liners their way before they bite it!)... may be SPOILERS in the following speculation:
WHITE SPACE BELOW, HIGHLIGHT TO READ
-those boring Aschen! boo!! Would be irony if their bioweapon was turned against them
-Fifth and the other Replicators... yes, they are a cool enemy, and I actually liked Fifth and first and don't "blame" him for having his humanity against him, but I have a feeling he's about to turn downright despicable for what he does to Major Carter looking at the early photos. Up to this point, battle with Replicators has been a stalemate but I'd like to see a decisive, crippling blow that would strike fear in the hearts of these machines -- it would be an empowering moment!
-whoever they set up as the chief new Goa'uld baddie of the season (I liked Apophis' death scene)
-since Anubis looks like he'll be returning, if he shows up in that cloak and mash, I wanna good MASK-SMASHING moment and humiliation for him worse than how Cyrus died at the end of Con Air ;)
-I'd like to see Sam beat down another man who suppresses her, like she did in that episode where she had to fight the Mongolian chieftan... Daniel and Teal'c should get their fare share of one-on-one baddie bashing too! Maybe Daniel would blow away a desecrator of artifacts in his best interests to preserve human culture across the galaxy, and Teal'c of course would be freeing his people and showing them that a Goa'uld is not a god by killing him up close and personal!!

Ok, I know this might belong under an Atlantis thread and I'm sorry if this has already been posted.
The biggest thing that is bothering me on the whole Atlantis spinoff is not the fact that it is a one way trip, but they are acting like there will never be in contact with Earth again. What good does it to send all of those personal, supplies ect into Pegaesse to explore and find more tecnology to protect Earth and not expect to hear from them untill they find enought power to gate back- especally when they don't have to gate back to Earth for info. The SGC now knows how much power it will take to gate there, so the SGC now knows how many naquada generators to build to make up for the power requirements. Besides, have ever know of any military to fund a exploration and not have some form of comunitaction for status reports. All that could happen is SGC will gate out once a month, find out what SGA needs in resupply, transmit all computer files generated in the previous month, give personal change to transmit e-mails to families. And then the bases go their seperate ways for another month.
Isn't that resonable?

The one thing that bothered me most about Season 8 was Teal'c. I love Teal'c, I really do... but I think the growth of hair messed with his brain because he was so misogynistic in this particular season. It really came out whenever he was around any of Moloc's female Jaffa - he would always interrupt with "Jaffa! HEAR ME just because my reproductive organs are on the outside rather than the inside, etc.!" and run roughshod over every little thing the women did/said.
It got to the point where I practically knew what to expect whenever I saw that Christopher Judge had written an Season 8 episode and, sadly, I was never pleasantly disappointed.
However, Seasons 9 and 10 saw the return of the Teal'c I knew and loved.
I'm thinkin' it was the hair gel that saved his soul.

Well, he WAS misogynistic, at least with Jaffa females. After all, how many times did he refer to his wife as "women"?
"Don't test my temper women!"
And so forth.

True, why else did some female Jaffa run off and set up their own camp on another planet where they could be warriors without men shouting "Woman, hear me!" or order them gruffly to go and get their kinsfolk to hear what Teal'c has to say about freedom??? for all Jaffa.....huh huh?! LOL! ;) :D

Ye gods! Zombie thread! Run for your liiiives! http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/images/smilies/_zombieglomp__by_MisterIngo.gif
Wow. The ol' Rage thread. Just look at some of the names! JP, Teal'c, KC, lotta good people not around anymore. And wow, I was on everyone's bad side right from the beginning, wasn't I? And OMG! LUKE! Gods, yes, I think Atlantis could be saved by the addition of Luke. There'd be lemon chicken in the commissary every night. LOL!
I'm still making some of the same complaints now that I made then. Which is rage-worthy since obviously some people never learn. :P
Anyway, I'll keep reminiscing and post my thoughts elsewhere. As for Teal'c, yeah, I'd say he's pretty heavily biased against the females of his own people but a little more open-minded when it comes to the ones from other planets. I guess that's one way of showing how some people, no matter how much they grow/progress, tend to fall back on bad habits when they go home. ;) I'd be more annoyed if he treated ALL women like that. Disparaging female jaffa is still bad, but at least I can see a weird (if fallible) logic to it.
Can I rage about Shep? And McKay? And how pretty much every plot revolves around one or both of them? Rage against Teyla getting sidelined, even in her own stories. Rage against her major story arc revolving around her reproductive organs (which are on the inside) and the fact that she was only given that much because of Rachel's pregnancy. Rage against the loss of Ford and how his replacement is equally sidelined, just buffer.
Boy, I bet most of those are tired old rages, too. Umm... Rage against the color pink and all instances of its appearance on Atlantis. Bet I never complained about THAT before! :P
