    Am I the only one?

It seems a lot people on here really like Epilogue. Am I the only one who didn't like it? I found it sappy and played out. Take me somewhere new. I know, they took me to the edge of the universe, how new do I need? I want story lines completely foreign to the franchise. Not the same old situations with new people and context. I mean, cheese and rice, did we not see this kind of theme in SGU Time, SG1 Unending and SGA The Last Man.

Maybe it had potential, but they dik*ed around with episodes like Cloverdale and The Hunt and lost the opportunity to play it out properly.

Emotion is at the core of the human experience, the very thing that science fiction aims to tap into and analyze in the context of what is yet to come.

If you're going to call it sap, I'd say these episodes succeeded brilliantly in that.

I hated season 1 and liked the more conventional SG1 and A (along with various ST incarnations and BE) and really enjoyed the episode. Having Wray say that proverb at the end to tie up that loose string was good tv.

The only bad part was Varro surviving a 30 foot fall onto a concrete floor. right......

Actually it happens more often than you'd think, and from far greater heights.

The Last Man was one of my favorite SGA eps. This episode felt like that but obviously more character driven. T.J.'s story was very similar to Keller's. Except T.J. is still going to get sick. So very powerful stuff.

I think "The Last Man" blows away "Unending" for many different reasons, this episode is right up there with "The Last Man" for me, so good job with this episode to the producers.

1 could survive that - i mean the law of averages might not be on your side but it's conceivable.

As for Last Man - i actually frowned upon the episode of SGA :-/ It's not too relevant here though.

I mean for as much SG-1 or Atlantis would explore the possibility of what could have been it always got washed away. Now it's true it wasn't "our" crew that traveled back in time but their alternates did and their society actually grew and flourished and has had an impact in our time line or reality or however you want to phrase it.

While it shared some similarities with previous episodes, i'd say this episode covered new ground for the franchise. And from an emotional stand point i though it was excellent.

In my story the guy landed on dirt so I know it's not the same (although it was a 50ish foot fall), but when I was in college, I lived in a very old six story dormitory. Late one night, this guy (who was high on a bunch of different things at the time), was leaning on the window on the top floor when it broke and he fell out and landed flat on the ground. He hit the ground so hard that pretty much everyone who had a window facing into the courtyard heard it. He literally walked away from it (well, not literally, cuz did I mention he was super high?). No broken/fractured/dislocated bones, no concussion or any other internal injuries, he didn't even need any stitches. He was going to class the next morning and escorted out of the dorms by law enforcement that afternoon for the drugs.

A coworker's husband was an ironworker who fell 50 feet when his harness broke while welding. He survived and, although he broke his neck, he's quite able to walk around and function fairly normally. It's definitely possible.
