So i am somewhat curious what role Langara is going to play in dialing the 9 chevron address.... From what i remember, Anubis took the Langaran's stockpile of Naquadria. Maybe he didnt take it all? Also, i believe that Earth lost contact with Langara during the Ori invasion of the milky way and we haven't heard from them since... I am siked for the episode but i hope that someone can clarify for me if i am missing anything.

The planet has Naquadria veins in it's crust.

Anubis didn't take any naquadria from Langara. He was defeated before he could actually do anything. And since the naquadria is far below the surface, it would have to be mined somehow, if that were even possible. Watch S7, "Homecoming" and "Fallout" to find out what happened. The Langarans still have all the naquadriah in the planet's crust.
And, happily, the Langarans apparently survived the invasion of the Ori.
(*I'm hoping there might be even a small mention of what happened to Jonas Quinn.*) :)

The Langarans have found a way to channel the energy from their planet and can channel it into the gate to dial Destiny

i don' t think that the channeling of energy is a problem, they had to do this before on Icarus. I think the major prolbem is that they have to find the right way to do it, I mean without blowing upthe planet

thanks for the clarification... I havent seen those eps in awhile. I agree at the very least, i hope we get a jonas name drop or an explanation of the ori occupation. Maybe the Langarans acquired the secret of power distribution from the Ori or an Ori data base of some kind. That would be an interesting twist.

I though the Langaran would be like the rich middle east of the Milkyway with Naquadria reserve ,and Earth and LA keep blowing other Naquadria planet.
Their technologies should have evlove beyone 1940's since the Ori war.
Earth's little attemp at unauthorise use of their facilities probably making the Langaran dis- trust Earth , but still request Earth to protect them from LA.
It mirror the cureent US relation ship with Saudi Arabia .
The Saudi doesn't like the American , but is better to side with the American than the al-Qaeda.
The with Earth military stay around Langaran ,but unable to use their facilities to dial Destiny.
The native Langaran will get piss off with so many of their military staying close to their world, and they form their anti Earth movement terrorist gorup.

Is this me or is it a continuity disaster? Langara never had a Naquadria core, in fact simply have large Naquadria veins was enough to put the planet at risk in SG-1, so what's with the retcon?

Was it explicitly stated that Langara has no Naquadria core? Maybe they discovered the Naquadria in the core only recently. This would also explain the new Stargate facility (they didn't have it before).

If memory serves it was a naqudah core that turned into naqudria and their bombs made it spread

The way it was explained before was that Langara had naquadah veins, and some former system lord instituted a project to turn the naquadah veins into naquadria veins. So yes, definitely it didn't have a naquadria core before. Perhaps the transformation finally reached the core, I don't know. But given the huge list of holes SGU has introduced, I'm getting a bit tired trying to keep track of yet another bothersome issue.

Care to point these "holes" out to the rest of us?

A Jonas Quinn reference would have been nice. So would an Atlantis reference. Oh well you can't have everything. Where would you put it?

I was a bit sad that nothing was said of Jonas, like the representative guy could have come in and said "hello Im me, Jonas sends his regards but unfortunetly he's away on other business"

Off screen there has been regular contact between earth and langara (woosley knew the way thus implying that he's been there regularly) and it would have been odd if he said that.

How? Most places take a while to recover..
but still request Earth to protect them from LA..
That's the price we had to pay to free our operatives.

While it would have been nice, why would Jonas send his regards to people he's never met? Did he have any dealings with Woosley?

yeah, but they're from earth, which he did live on for over a year. so it would make sense that he would want to see them, plus he probably is involved in decisions that concern the stargate and earth relations

Why would Jonas be involved in such decisions? He wasn't before. Jonas has always been a scientist, not a diplomat.

Especially becausehe is a scientist, i would imagine that Jonas would have been a mjaor player in Langara's stargate program. I mean he is basically the Jack Oneill or Daniel Jackson of Langara. One of the first pioneers of Langara. His knowledge of advanced tech and the stargate would make the best canidate to listen to McKay's pitch. O and the fact that he knows many of the major players in the stargate program on earth.... I can understand if they could not get Corin Nemic for the show but at the very least they should have mentioned him

I thought all naquadria was made artificially from naquadah so I just thought the other planets were the goa'ulds doing as well maybe even the same one.

Actually, Jonas did meet some of them. To be more specific: he not only met, but worked side by side with McKay in Redemption (season 6).
In other words, he and McKay know each other and as one of the best scientists on Langara and the person most familiar with Earth science and technology Jonas was an ideal choice to deal with Earth delegation in this episode.
Why would Jonas be involved in such decisions? He wasn't before. Jonas has always been a scientist, not a diplomat.
Well, to be fair Jonas was a scientist, an archeologist or a diplomat depending on what was needed for any given episode. ;) Although I grant you that his involvement in diplomacy was nowhere near Daniel's; in fact during season 6 Jack & Sam duo were SG-1's diplomat.
To be more on topic, I must admit I'm very disappointed by the depiction of Langara in this ep. Don't get me wrong, it's cool that Langarians apparently learned from their mistakes and started to value cooperation and their allies but still, there was so much more that could have been done and shown. Over SG-1's course we met many characters from Langara and I find it hard to believe that they are all either dead (especially since there was no word re Ori invasion) or no longer involved in the program. That's just too unbelievable.
I also don't buy Jack authorising this mission. Sure, he's done his fair share of disgusting and morally wrong things and he's no friend of Langarians, but still, he wouldn't have risked millions of lives - Jonas' life - on McKay's word alone. As much as I love Jack's depiction on SGU in general, IMO Remy Aubuchon really didn't do his homework on this one. :S

Jonas left the SGC at the beginning of season 7 to be involved in Langara's joint ruling council. That was the condition of the Teraanians and Andaree endorsing it in the first place.

And since most likely the ruling council was capped by the ori, when they occupied the planet, he is dead..

I can't be 100% certain but I am pretty sure Corin wasn't even asked to do this episode so i think that once he fulfilled his contract in Fallout, SG world just waved bye bye to him.
