View Full Version : Wray's gf on Destiny

Did anyone else notice the female military member next to Dr. Park right after Eli's mom took over her body? I could have sworn she was looking at her hands and/or looking in a mirror i.e. the traditional "first time using the stones look."

I assumed we would find out that Wray's gf was also on Destiny due to the whole "I want to see your face" thing but that never happened. Deleted scene perhaps? Did anyone else get that impression.

I'm glad the significant others back home are starting a support group/drinking club. Now they just need to include Chloe's mom and Scott's baby mama and it's a party!

She already has the security clearance or Wray couldn't tell Sharon who she was

I have to wonder why they don't allow a few significant others onboard Destiny. Not regularly, but once in awhile so they can actually see their loved ones.

I agree. With the stargate program nearly 15 years old, there must be tens of thousands (if not more) of people that know about it and have clearnce. I just read that the CIA has more than 1 million analysts worldwide with top secret clearence. Why not throw the families a bone?

I think that was the measure of what Wray did for Eli... since she sees what is happening to her girlfriend (the alcohol) and would have loved to bring her to Destiny, but she sacrificed and brought Eli's mom instead. Makes it more meaningful.

I thought something like that, during the episode....instead of using generic red-shirt airmen for the scheduled swaps, why not swap with relatives of Destiny that have clearance? That would double the amount of "meeting time" that the crew gets - Destiny crew get to "go home" to their families, while the families "come visit" on Destiny.

You can't have civilians just walking in and out of the most secure levels of the Pentagon.

precisely. AND it would get boring/obnoxious after a while... I mean why bring on all these characters that have no purpose in the show except to be tourists? It's not even worth a line of dialogue like
Volker: "Oh man glad my sister could come on board yesterday, we played a kick *ss game of scrabble."
Young: "Wait, where did you get scrabble?"
Volker: "made it"
Young: "whoa, can I play?"
Volker: "no its for cool people only, sorry Young"
Young: "Damn it, I'll beat you up if i don't play scrabble!!"
Volker: "Fine you can play"

-- Two Hours later ---

Volker: "Young, do you realize the 10 words you've spelled are, Violence, Anger, Booze, good use of the letter Z by the way, Jailbreak, I don't even know how you came up with a nine letter word, we should only have 7 letters and---"
Young: "Are you calling me a cheater!!!! FIgure it OUT!!! How I could spell a nine letter word"
Rush: "Damn it Volker, you're so stupid you can't even play scrabble! First he spelled Jail, then added break. Brialliant really, got 50 points from it!"
Young: "Hey, wait a minute, you should be on my side. And why did you spell, found, Bridge, master and code? Are you trying to tell us something"
Rush: "Well, guess this game is over huh, I need to go... to my quarters."
Young: "You don't have quarters I checked."
Rush: "Da** it! I moved, how did you find out?"
Volker: "He yelled at me and Park, he said 'FIGURE IT OUT!!' So we did, but it took forever, could have used your help Rush."
Rush: "Yes, well, I would have known where I was now wouldn't I have, so that would have been stupid."
Volker: "yeah, guess so."
Young: (Rolls his eyes) "God you people are stupid, where is Eli? ELI!!!"
Rush: "Probably with that hot red head that snuck away from her escort, damn kids."
Young: "WHat??? WRAY! Why did I let you convince me to let those people out!!!! Now they are spreading disease!!!!"

**Montage** Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous by Good Charlotte plays.
Eli and Ginn are banging while Bottles of Brody's booze fly everywhere. -- Chloe stares at her wound curiously and writes in her diary "Man I love having money!" in an alien language of course, then busts down Matt's door and starts partying with Greer, Park, Brody, James, and Rush. Rush shouts "God, this feels like Glasgow! Brody, this sh*t takes just like scotch!" Back to Ginn and Eli, they are running down the halls half naked, throwing papers, screaming and ready to party. Then Young, Wray, and Volker come out of the side corridors partying ripping off their clothes, Wray has plants covering her private parts and says "I love hydroponics" Scene closes with them all partying in Matt's room, it's tight and the FTL shining in through the window provides Disco lights!

And don't forget stones can leave you residual memories from the person you swapped with. It could risk things getting out that the uncleared swappers were never even exposed to. Realistically, I think they would be a whole lot more careful with the use of such a device.

As for the whole inside-the-Pentagon-thing, why not bring the stones to the people? Not saying I'd like to see episodes where everyone's grandma is on board, but it's not like the system requires a huge land-based array (that we know of).

It's one thing on missions. Doing it for casual visits is not something they'd permit.

that was because telford was brainwashed... No other reason, it is not a regular occurance.

They probably don't because of the lack of condoms on Destiny. They already have a mission. And raising kids on Destiny is not it. (yet).

I don't remember that being established. It only happens with Telford, and Young makes an issue of it during the interrogation.

Theoratically, it would be possible to do this and minimize the Danger. (If they were to let other visitors on board)

The Stones lock on the last Person to hold it in his/her hands. So they simply would have to touch a stone and not go to the Pentagon or the SGC. You could let them do so at a secure location, give them the stone for a secound and later connect it to the machine.

If those people, family members, already know about the Stargate program, already got clearance, I don't see why they couldn't visit their real love one on the ship after such a long time.

Beside the aspect that the stones could leave residual artifact in the head and could be dangerous (maybe).

To me it looked more like she was WAITING for someone to stone in.. rather than looking at her hands..

And Eli's mom didn't?

Agreed. Even in OUR pentagon, families just can't visit... So i doubt they would be able to take more than 1 or two special people.. and in Eli's situation i can see them making a exception for her.

As for the whole inside-the-Pentagon-thing, why not bring the stones to the people? Not saying I'd like to see episodes where everyone's grandma is on board, but it's not like the system requires a huge land-based array (that we know of).

That brings up a whole lot more issues. See how in OUR reality we have lost lots of secret and higher hard drives of info, had people mugged and their TS laptops stolen.. had cars carrying someone important (and something) get wrecked... Not even looking into the 'what happens if other see it at the hospital...

that was because telford was brainwashed... No other reason, it is not a regular occurance.

While that may be, i felt it was more cause of how many times he had used them.

Surely if security at Homeworld Security is an issue, they could just do a home visit with the stones mouse pad thing.

I could quiet imagine Rush screaming "This is a space ship, not a bloody bus stop!" too

I assumed she was there to monitor the device. As the sequence develops you see her move her hands as though she was adjusting or typing something...

Either that, or she was Eli's mothers escort onto the base.
