DC Entertainment reveals Blue Beetle test images
DC Entertainment has revealed via its online blog The Source that a TV series based on DC Comics’ superhero Blue Beetle is currently in development. Geoff Johns, acclaimed comic book writer and DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer, announced via his Twitter feed on Monday that a live-action test of the alien-powered Blue Beetle scarab suit was underway.
The official blog has released some of those test images, which Johns describes as “a live action screen test of Blue Beetle transforming and something we’re using in the hopes of bringing him to the small screen.â€
Jaime Reyes is currently the third character to take on the mantle of the Blue Beetle. Reyes derives his powers from an ancient alien scarab, called the Blue Beetle, which attaches itself to his spine to endow him with technologically advanced weaponry and defences.
