I REALLY hope they actually make this. I got all excited when I saw the short, then went nuts looking on IMDB and google....only to find it "Actually was made by the director to sell WB on his vision for a reimagined MK film" (quote from Jeri Ryan - that's right.....Seven of Nine is in the trailer!)

Mortal Kombat Fan Film To Become Web-Series

Remember back in June, when a mysterious Mortal Kombat short film appeared? It was really good, but it didn't represent a reboot of the series. Instead, it was, basically, a fan-film, made as a test video shot to persuade Warner Bros. Pictures to go a certain direction in their long-planned reboot of the franchise. A great plan, and a great plan that looks like it worked.

According to a post on Bloody-Disgusting, the short film's director Kevin Tancharoen has been cleared to shoot a 10-episode Mortal Kombat web series. It stars star Michael Jai "Spawn" White as Major Jackson "Jax" Brigg. Shooting will begin in February and will take place in Vancouver.

No word yet on the rest of the casting, or when it will come out, but "Not soon enough" is good guess. Check out the "Source" link below for the original video.

Well the original video when released was interesting and was taking the series in a direction compared the movies, so a web series is probably the best choice so I will be looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

There aren't enough original ideas in Hollywood to let it stay dead. If the web series is any type of success, new trilogy will be in the works before Scorpio can say "Get over here".

Saw this wayyyyyyyy back, looks kinda good, the revamped and more realistic approach. I always preferred fantasy part but open to how this might be. Don't know if they can bring rayden into this though since he's deep in spirituality and all that supernatural stuff.
