Quibble....
So, did anyone else think that Varro healed too quickly? I mean, that wound looked tiny and it was all neat and tidy too when he sat up. *Plus* after all the blood he must've lost, he was walking around pretty quickly.
Just a small nit-picky thing, I know... but still...

No you re totally right that he recovered pretty quickly certainly much faster than a normal Tau'ri human would anyhow. Maybe like Jonas he is a bit more advanced genetically or maybe he was enhanced by his former slavers the Goa'ud which we know they did experiment like that.

Looked to me like he had been hit in the shoulder.

If he was in shock before, the recovery simply could have been from that. We know TJ's not a surgeon so I doubt it was near a vital organ or he'd probably be dead right now. No offense to her skills, but she's not trained and she doesn't have the tools.

Yep. I thought so too. Kiva made a big issue about TJ saving Varro's life, and TJ said it was a very serious injury and made it seem like his recovery would be touch and go. Then he's sitting up on the infirmary bed and actually flirting with TJ (at least that's what it seemed like to me:)). But, then, in Stargate many recoveries from life threatening injuries are miraculous, dontcha know? :D (*Think John Shephard in EaTG. His injury was way worse than Varro's, but he's up and around, scurrying around a wraith ship saving Teyla ... before surgery to fix his wounds.*)

Yep. It was the same guy. The one Kiva ordered TJ to help; the guy was laying on the floor bleeding, and TJ looks at the injury and declare it very serious. Then she's "operating" on him in the makeshift infirmary with the help of one of the LA guys, and finally says that's all she can do. And the next thing we know, Varro is sitting up on the bed flirting with TJ, acting as though it was nothing worse than a bee sting. :) Oh, and a bit later he's grumbling about maybe one of his stitches is coming out and asking her to fix it.

maybe the injury wasn't as serious as TJ originally thought it was,
or maybe she was lying to Kiva when she said how serious the injury was...for some reason like to stall or request the medical supplies...etc

Maybe he just heals well.
I had surgery on Monday morning this week; aside from bruising/cut healing and having the staples removed, I was ready to go home by Tuesday. And no that's not a euphemism, that's actually what my week was like lol

I would say he just simply woke up from unconsciousness. The wound is not healed, it is simply stitched nice and neatly hence why he may look like he recovered too quickly. When he broke the stitches he was bleeding again mind you.

She is using the same method as Scotty did all those years: "I cannae fix him Colonel, I don't have the supplies!".
To be fair it was a minor injury. She knocked him out with their handy venom anaesthetic, took out the bullet, stopped the bleeding, and reported to Kiva before he woke up. If he had lost too much blood before she got to him or if he had a bad reaction to the anaesthetic then he could easily have still died, but luckily neither of those things happened, so once he woke up he was good to go.
It's possible his ancestors who were abducted from Earth were from the same family that eventually produced Jack Bauer.

Straight from the playbook of Montgomery Scott.
But I'm surprised the shoulder wasn't shattered, unless those pleather outfits of theirs offer more protection than they seem (which would explain why the bullet was so easily extracted, and not totally deformed i.e. not JHP).

Varro is too kind to be a Goa'uld, so here's a frag grenade to blow your minds: he's an infiltrated Tok'ra in the LA's ranks! :D

Not really, that one actually didn't bother me. We don't know how much time passed so it isn't that unbelievable. :)

Translation: Not happening. A minor mention to feed the fans and in a video about how the LA came to power isn't foreshadowing.
But if I'm wrong, then you may torture me to death with it. But since I'm not, hush. :P

This. In the DVD commentaries on Leverage Season 2, they talk about how quickly Christian Kane heals from any of the various wounds he's suffered while filming fights, and they say there is definitely a genetic component to being a badass, and that rapid healing just seems to come along with the "Sh**kicker gene."
I agree with them.

He was shot in the shoulder. It stands to reason that he was out because of pain and low or unstable blood pressure because he was bleeding. Getting the bullet out, controlling the bleeding plus having an IV to keep him from going into hypovolemic shock would probably be enough to stabilize him.

I like the Goa'uld idea. We haven't seen them in a long time and this would be a great way to plant a goa'uld spy amongst them. The way he told them that it wasn't their ship anyway could have been the big clue for us.
The goa'uld have lost all their power so it makes sense they would be sneaking around the Lucian Alliance to find someway to regain their power.

Yeah, I was kinda' hoping he would play the same character, Kiryk, as he did in SGA's "Tracker" but they've just used the same actor to play a different role. The two characters seem similar, though. His being a runner would certainly explain the quick recovery and relative indiferrance to pain.

Perhaps he's a jaffa? Maybe they cant take care of bullets, but it would certainly explain how he healed so fast once it had been removed, or it could have been a blood loss problem...
How much time actually went by during the whole thing though? It could have been hours....

Interesting. But he must be a horny Gau'uld to be flirting with a Pregnant lady. Unless he's after her child, trying to secure a younger host for his long term relocation to Destiny.

Not only that, he wrestles a gun away from another guy. Even a Jaffa has to take some time for serious injuries. He must be an ascended Ancient slumming it.

I think hes a Guaould, why else would they give the backstory on them in the DanielJackson videos? Logically the surviving lesser Guaould would infiltrate the LA to build their own power bases in the dominant structure of the MW. Its the same thing as the Trust on Earth. The only diff between working for a system lords or the Trust or the LA is that there is more potential for personal power in the LA and Trust... We know theres a crapton of lesser guaould out there still.

That's quite a leap. They gave backstory because it was a pilot for the 3rd series in the franchise and wanted to give a nod to established fans.
He just got winged in the shoulder, I don't know why everyone is coming up with Looney Tunes conspiracy theories.

He could be deviously intelligent to play dead with such a tiny wound to reduce the chance of getting fatally wounded in the ensuring battle. Smart Gau'uld.

Oh, come on, it's completely ridiculous for him to be walking around after surgery like that (despite it being superficial and us not knowing what passage of time it all took place in). :D ;)
