Ben Browder in new TV pilot, HELLCATS

    http://www.deadline.com/2010/04/one-...outhern-pilot/

One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush has landed a lead opposite Don Johnson on ABC’s comedy pilot*Southern Discomfort as the future of the veteran CW drama hangs in the balance. In other pilot castings, Ben Browder, repped by Gersh and Hank McCann, rounds out the series regular cast of the CW’s Hellcats.

Hellcats is an hour-long dramedy about competitive college cheerleaders. It's being described as Election meets Bring it On. Hmmm… not exactly what I'd expect to come from someone who's played Clark Kent for nine seasons. Also, doesn't really sound like that good of a show concept.

Fan site http://hellcatsfans.com/ says "Well we now know who will be playing Football Coach Red Raymond! Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Ben Browder has been cast and that his casting “rounds out the series regular cast”, so we are assuming he has been cast at “Red Raymond”. You might recognize Browder from Stargate SG-1 and Farscape."

While i like Browder, i dont think his casting alone is enough for me to watch this.

I unfortunately have to say I'm with Madwelshboy on this one. I think BB is awesome, and I loved both Mitchell and Crichton, but this is just very much not my type of show. For his sake however I do hope the show does well.

I read the description here http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2...april-14/8620/

And despite really wanting to see Ben again, I don't think I could make myself watch this. It's seems made of up just about every subject I loathe.

I will definitely watch this if Ben is in it. Whatever role he plays I am sure he will do a great job of it. It will be worth watching for him.

I think the show will be the CW version of Glee, from the sounds of things. If so, it might be really good. Anyway, congrats to Ben. I'm looking forward to seeing him play something completely different from Crichton or Mitchell.

I can't wait to see this one! He's a great actor, and as ShardsofGlass said, it's gonna be cool to see him in something different. ( And Ben as a coach makes me to swoon already. )

I was all excited when I saw that Ben was going to be in something new, but... cheerleading? Really?
