Earth has dozens of 302s at it's disposable as well as a few 304s. There has been talk of a "new" battleship on these forms the 305. Earth needs to build a cargo ship of some sort. I know what you are going to say but Lord Pink there are many Goa'uld Cargo Ships out there, why not buy/steal them. Well for one, they are not Earth made, meaning it is very difficult to find parts to fix them. Two, they are rather small. The reality is if Earth wants to become a super power in the milky way it's going to need more than a few different classes of ships. Numbers would also help.

Well my idea was that we could talk with Tokra and Free Jaffa to give us one of their construction Yards and there we could modify or build a new class of ships based on Goauld Ha'tak class ships, which we could use for our transport ships.

They are big, have enough space to fit powerful hyper drives and multiple shields and of course a lot of storage space.

The things we would really have to work is how to integrate Asgard Hyper drives, APBW and other technology in its design. And in case we don't want to share any info with them regarding the technology we can easily complete the ship till I don't know 60-70% and than complete it in secrecy somewhere else.

For example we could try to install NIG power generators instead of power generators + ZPM combination we are using in our our 304's. Also, doing this we could potentially make them much faster and maybe achieve that this ships would arrive to PG in hours? And because of NIG's we could also make shield stronger so ships could be used for emergency evacuation if needed (In case that whole Atlantis must be evacuated).

I was thinking of a larger version of the Prometheus as a transport ship, in honour of those who died on Prometheus. No offensive weapons. Because I think I'm the only one on Gateworld that thinks using Battle Cruisers as Deep Space Carriers is a waste of resources.

X-303 is a dead end, because it's to small end modifying the X-303 in to X-306 would cost more money than designing a new ship.

You must know that X-303 is not designed for Asgard technology and even if we use X-304 for bases has no sense because ship is not mend for transporting.

And because we don't have alternative construction yards (we have only yards designed for X-304) we have to do something what is available to us.

Maybe we even don't need to build Ha'tak. Maybe we could use Ha'tak construction yard for building a new Earth designed ship, but ATM I think that Ha'tak would work just fine for us...

Using BC's as DSC's is really the only option in Pegasus where you can run into the Wraith at any turn. But where the MW is a little more secure, I agree.

They would need both passenger space and large cargo bays, and then maybe enough room for a squad of 302's. No offensive weapons, and only a cloak and shield (and enough power to activate both at once, if only for a short time).

Other than Todd, the Wraith don't know where Atlantis was. All that they would have need to have done was drop out in the planet's orbits.

And if we get Ha'tak plans, put them in Asgard Core and ask core to re-design it so we can install NIG, APBW, Shields and some other cool stuff Asgard Core can do that for us. We just need to put the right instructions to it and the Core will do that for us.

After that is done, Jaffa people can build the ship and our people can install the technological part. This way ship can be build much more faster and in secrecy compared to construction yards on our planet.

And after the ship is completed we can help Jaffa people to upgrade their ships with some of this, of course all non combat technology.

I'll give you another fact. The Asgard upgraded the Prometheus to not their cutting edge technology, but technologies that certainly more advanced than the Ha'tak class. Like, an intergalactic hyperdrive, for one?

Jaffa people? Why in the world would the Jaffa build anything for us? They'll ask for something we cannot give them, like advanced technologies.

Try me. Practically every technology can be used for combat, either it be offensive or defensive. Whether it is the "new and improved" form of technology is irrelevant.

My point is, we have been trying to differentiate ourselves from the Goa'uld as leaders of the Galaxy, not tyrants. If we take the design of their ships, some people wouldn't even see the difference. And besides, the Ha'tak was designed to be a warship, not a Deep Space Carrier. At least the Prometheus has that.

well, on first sight modifying Ha'tak was the best idea, because if we design a new vessel from zero than we have a lot of work to do.

But if we design a new transport ship, than it should be bigger than X-303 or 304's, with a very fast hyper drives, primary and secondary shields, NIG power generators to power hyper drive and shields. Minimum weapons, but placed all over the ship (weaker APBW).

But again, we are talking about transport ship, which design and functions are to transport huge amounts of materials from one point to another. Inside or outside one galaxy.

And because costs of production of a new ship are really high, maybe we should design the ship in a way that it transport materials are stored inside multiple containers, which are installed on the bottom of the ship.

And in the future we can upgrade this design in a way that only one container is installed instead of 16 and inside that one container we can set-up a small F-302 base with 30+ F-302's or mechanism to grab damaged 304 and transport it to our construction yard? just ideas
