Region 2 Stargate Atlantis Complete Series 1 - 5 Collection

Play.com have finally got a release date for the complete series collection. No artwork or anything other than a conjectured release date. However, at least we finally have an official listing for it, which probably means it IS happening.

HMV.com also have the listing for the same release date as play.com
(10/08/2009), which also seems to be the same day as the season 5 boxset

Well I would love to have this, but it doesn't seem nearly as good value as the one for SG-1. I paid £89.99 for all ten seasons and the TAOT, and this has half the content and they want more for it!

I'm not sure how long after the release you bought it, but i remember when the complete SG1 came out it was up to £200 initially. The price the decreased over time. The same will likely happen with this, like at a faster pace than the SG1 release because of the current economy.

I didn't get the initial release, the second one that had better packaging. I wonder if this Atlantis one will be in a huge useless box and then we'll get a decent one a few months after?

Looks pretty good to me, Atlantis in sunset looks rather nice. Also, the shape of the box suggests it will be similar to the newest Region 2 SG1 collection, with the smaller boxsets. Price isn't too bad either.

I paid £125.99 for this boxset (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Stargate-S-G...f=pd_cp_d_h__1) which has all 10 seasons of SG-1 plus Ark Of Truth and Continuum and they come in a nice looking large box, in their slimline cases (second UK release of the slimline cases).

I am not willing to pay £119 for a large complete Atlantis set, I will wait for the standard season 5 boxset, which will have nicer artwork and will only cost a fraction of how much that big box set is.

With the amount of SG-1 content, it was worth it. With the amount of Altantis content, it simply isn't.

Unless of course, it offers content that is exclusive to that large box like with SG-1. (10 years, and no blooper reel, WTF?)

True, but I'm splitting it with a friend, who wants to see it, but will let me keep the set. So I'm not arguing with £60.
