A lot of it was film in Epping forest, not far from where I live, when I am not stuck at uni.
I say watch it, and you will honesty struggle to tell the difference between this and peter Jackson work. The ring scenes lets it down slightly.
The Matt paintings are well done.
And they were brave enough to do there own 3d gollum to.
The make up artist did a good job at nicking supplies from there work place, come on you do not get makeup like that for 3 ground. They also did well applying it to the actors. The fight scene was okay, but it is a tad unrealistic that the bloke took on 20 orcs on single handedly.
An the forest and mountains fly over scenes, well I thought they actual borrowed a helicopter for the day to do those, that how real they look. They are actually both done with matt paintings.
This film has set a new standard in fan film productions. There trailer for the original feature does not look half bad either.
