This looks really good. Same trailer as above, but better quality.

The question which once haunted my being has been answered. The future is not fixed, and my choices are my own... and yet, how ironic! For I now find, I have no choice at all! I am warrior... let the battle be joined.-Dinobot-Code of Hero

Don't blame me, I voted Cthulhu

I'm still not sure what the film is about, I've looked for info... but I failed

Looks to have Cloverfield status right now.

I just saw a trailer on TV for this. It looks interesting, but they did not give much away.

How the hell has this escape my attention. Peter Jackson is a Awesome director even when he is not the director. Glad to see he taking on a different genre on.

Alien Nation done seriously, always wanted such a concept done and now we got it. This seemed to be documentary style shooting and very much about how humans and aliens would live togeather.
My biggest question why are they in south Africa. That a giant tinder box waiting to light up at the best of time.

I guest setting it in the 1990s is an interesting time to set it, was apartheid still around, certainly it was only just ending and freedoms and equal rights for all were only just being establish in SA. I going to be interesting to see them tackle true racism, afteral us human are just a single race.

It shame this is not going to be a tv series.

That sought of give away the plot of the film.

                Spoiler:
These aliens are peaceful and just wanna go home but we want the weapon systems and so somehow, probably when negotiating with them we seize control of there vessel, ET cannot go home

Personally I prefered the mystery before we did not know what they want, just that people were frighten and that they were moving out of there area, now it gets interesting. We are the aggressors.

This is a film I am truly looking forward to.

Apparently this is the short that led to District 9 being created and I think it serves as a great viral video for the movie

Yeah why did they cut that off in the first place ?
It just ruins most of the storyline preview, not to be able to understand the alien's replies

I think the South African location was chosen specifically because of the history of apartheid. You see people who most likely suffered under apartheid, completely willing to inflict a similar system on beings that happen to be different from them. Plus who wants to see aliens land in New York yet again?
