thanks for the compliments everyone. The past few days they've started coming into my bed around 0630 in the morning to wake me up. Odo bites my legs or feet and Bob's been purring near my face. It's kind of funny and fascinating to watch their different personality types.

A little like his namesake then? :P

They are incredibly cute, as I said on fb.

Hi guys

:) As I have just posted in the COH thread I am close to being back permentently (Sorry for the spelling TP lol), *Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy*
I have moved in with a friend as Mum has now sold her house and forced me out in the process, even though she wanted me gone since August of last year, hence mainly why I have been very bad and been away for so long :(

I am having very serious withdrawal symptoms from a lack of role-playing as it's not much fun doing it by myself even with a very vivid imagination :D

I promise I will be back very soon and back on every day too which I can't wait for, I just need to get my internet connection back up and permentently running again, and thank you to PA and Leeta for adopting Astor and Rocky when I wasn't able to get on for a while, from what I've seen the boys are extremely happy with you :D.

Welcome back TA!

I'm sorry I haven't been frequently Gateworld much lately. I forgot to recharge the USB modem I use at Port Arthur, and as such have been without the internet. Nevertheless, I have also decided to take a small vigil from the online community. Hopefully during this time I can regain my love of writing and perhaps, on an off chance, produce something worth sharing with everyone here. I think my writers block lately has come through the fact that I've felt like I'm writing for others and not for me. Hence why Riddles has been such an epic failure so far.

I might pop in every now and again, but if anyone here would like to take over the worship of Stefan, Edgar and Spike in my absence please feel free to do so. They deserve a better worshipper. As for Tony, well, he's coming on vigil with me ;)

Sometimes it can be helpful to take a break from things though. Hope your muses will return and you'll come back soon!

I'm sure someone else would be happy to take my position as shackle expert :P

I've decided that I am definitely putting Spike and Stefan up for adoption. Edgar is staying with me (we need someone to keep Tony and I in line :P). I hope someone will give them a loving home :)

Hello again. I am still putting Spike and Stefan up for adoption, but I realised what my problem was. Too many things on one plate. I'll just throw down a quote from my facebook page:

Louise Brandon has decided to delay my Masters until 2012. Probably a wise choice, taking into account the three debilitating panic attacks I have suffered in the last week :S What does this mean? Facebook and GW are back on the agenda, smut will be written in droves and I will also be able to get my Isle of the Dead up to scratch

I'll be around a bit more than I anticipated :P

I already responded to you yesterday on Facebook. Don't put pressure on yourself to write out stories like Riddles. It should be a fun experience. :) I've got a few short stories myself, mostly wraith, that will probably never get shown because I wrote them for myself and for fun!

Cheers Orb, TP and Leeta. Panic attacks aren't fun, but I really was heading for a mental breakdown. My own fault really. I am afraid I'll become complacent at Port Arthur, but my determination to go to Oxford or Cambridge will hopefully see me doing my masters next year. This year I'm going to concentrate on finding my own place on the Tasman Peninsula, saving money, re-finding myself and improving my tours.

As for writing, it has always been my passion. I realised very early on this year that if I did everything writing would have to be placed aside and I think that accounted for part of my mental breakdown. Unfortunately, while I'm over the worst of it, I know there'll be more to come.

Seeing as Spike is loved by all (speaking from experience here), we could make him open to all Worshippers. I'm not saying he should be the Hive bicycle, but if someone wants to worship him in the COH or in one of the other RP threads, they can have permission to do so. Of course, we'd have to correspond his actions with each other.

Almost sounds like the old times in the AWTT: "Hey, there's Spike and he's free at the moment - Get him!!!"

But yeah, sounds like a good idea to me - also concerning the other unadopted or not role-played Wraith. :)

In case I sent out a wrong signal - Personally, I don't want to worship him and I don't mean to snatch him away from TP and AFA. The general idea seemed like a good thought though as it would leave Spike free to be role-played by anyone. This doesn't have to include worshipping sessions. Like HR said, everyone could play poker with Spike. It would just be a way to have him available in the game world. There's no reason why he shouldn't stay with TP and AFA whenever they're around of course. If you want to keep the ownership for him, TP, that's fine by me too, of course. :)

I am Commander Aro. I was aboard one of the many hives that awoke due to the meddling of humans from Atlantis. Native of Pegasus. I am a younger Commander, 20 years old, than most yet I have made up for it by leading my hive into many battles. Sadly I am the only Wraith from my hive that has survived until now. I am of average height for a Wraith, and am most athletic. I currently seek other Wraith that I may join in once again becoming the dominant power. I am not tolerant of humans who attempt to destroy my kind. Currently on an unknown planet in Pegasus without any means of transportation.

Fortunately, the Lanteans and many humans in our game are allied with us now, even Chaya Sar. We have wrist band feeding devices that allow Wraith to gather energy from the universe for sustenance and no longer need to cull. We also have cures for most things, like the Hoffan plague. :)

The current plot in The Planet thread is being lead by Hellraiser-89. I'll let him tell you about his homeworld of Swedonia. Stuck without transportation? For joining The Planet thread, did you want us to RP finding you on the unknown planet after our Swedonia visit is over?

Firstly welcome! :D

Secondly... I don't know how deeply you want to RP being a Wraith, but there is one very important rule throughout the WWA threads: no characters are allowed to "eat" any other characters! :P

Thirdly... not too sure how you might get on in the COH if you have antagonistic feelings towards humans... :S In the COH we humans have VERY enthusiastically intimate relationships with our Wraith! ;) :D :P (If you're curious, ask me about the tantric feeding method! ;))

Fourthly... if you do decide you'd like to play in the COH you;re more than welcome - BUT, you'll possibly have to create your own human worshipper characters, since we're all (mostly) human and our Wraith tend to be a little possessive of us at times! :D  (No, I;m not looking at you two, Steve and Tony... :P)

Lastly... Enjoy! :D

Soz guys, just letting you know I won't be active much on GW for a short time. Maybe a day or two, three... Someone killed my motivation and inspiration and has me upset - I rather stay away for a short while and not engage in wraithy stuff on here. The discussion is tearing at my nerves and makes me reluctant to log in for fear what might be waiting for me next - I've had more than enough of that the last few days.

Before I lose fun altogether I'll rather stay away and try to get some stuff done in the meantime. Everyone can leave me message here or on dA and I'll get back to you asap.
*hugs*

I'm also sorry to hear that DS, but I can understand where you're coming from. I think nerves are frayed here on the GW at the moment, and sometimes it can be healthier just to take a few days off. I found having a few days away from GW actually strengthened my adoration for the Wraith and re-sparked my creativity and motivation. I hope the same happens to you :)

I'm still active but even I find myself not staying logged in as long as I use to. I still enjoy the RP threads and for the most part the WDC. I hope you can still post for the RPs. *hugs*

It seems like some members in this forum are starting to leave. :( I've seen it happen in other forums where a fandom stops and the fans stop posting after a while. The forum becomes a ghost town.

Welcome back :) Trust me, getting upset over something that is perceived as trivial is fairly common. For example, the other day I had a serious OCD attack after watching the movie "Bridesmaids" (if you've seen that movie, it was the dress store scene. Traumatising for someone with my strain of OCD. I actually had to use every ounce of self control to sit through the rest of the film after that). Admittedly, I believe that everything was piling up in my life and the movie was only the match that set it burning...

Oooooooh, that sounds nasty! I'm not much of a fan of heat, so you have my sympathies. I'm currently in the opposite position. I work predominantly outside and we are currently in the middle of a FREEZING Tasmanian winter.

Thanks for the hugs everyone :) I'm over the OCD attack now, so I should be able to function as a relatively normal human being.

Sorry I haven't been active very much lately. I've just finished an eight day stint at work, and I'm currently housesitting for a colleague on the Tasman Peninsula. To put it mildly, I am ecstatically happy to be going home tomorrow for a short holiday!!!

Wll well, what have we here? Hive 95 comes out of hibernation. We be a lazy herd of wraith. We herd for the fun of herding. Although all we herd are these things earthlings call cows. Such a long time since we've back home here to Pegasus. Almost feels alien. Those earthlings are an eclectic bunch, but we figured they will probably end up killing themselves off at some point in the future. They are so picky and ornery! Their primitive technology is probably what prevents them from wiping themselves out. Oh well... Queen Amadala has sent the hive back home for some extended R&R. So we're here yet again...

Yes, much to catch up on.

-Devon has acquired new recipes! Krumpets and pistachio ice cream. Along with a stunning new chocolate fountain array for Deaveraux. In addition, Devon was able to get additional training in chef technique and cooking. From some really grouchy guy named Chef Ramsey. But Devon learned quite a lot.

-Wraithworld has gained a galaxy breaking record coaster: the eX-Fin. The fastest rolercoaster ever built, attaining a speed of over 170mph, based off technology Wraithguyver and Gordon gained from amusement park on earth.

-Dr. Scott gained two new pieces of medical equipment: a MRI-trans scanner and a new laser microscope thingy that makes stuff really really big.

-Wraithguyver and Gordon hit the motherlode at a place called area 51. They're not even telling ME what they found yet. The Queen is having me crash their lab later on to get tabs on what they found.

So much has gone on during or stint to earth... LoL

Sorry for being not talkative the last days. I've caught a cold and spend much time in bed, sleeping. @ TP, DS, Orb & WS: It sounds like you've had some troublesome days - I hope you are all feeling better now, or well on the way :)

Sorry I haven't exactly been an active member lately. Time has been an illusive beastie and I've been spending a great deal of time getting myself back on track. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this on here, but I intend to resign from Port Arthur in February next year and take up study full time. As such, I'm saving money like a madman (which means no more overpriced internet on the Peninsula). I've also been having a battle with the lady in charge of accommodation at Port Arthur again. She is evil personified. Basically, I want to get my Masters out of the way asap, then dive into a PhD at a respectable institution like Oxford or Cambridge. Here's to dreaming :)

On the plus side, I've been writing (predominantly Severus Snape stuff, I admit, but there are certainly some Wraithy plots rattling around in my head). I know I've said it before, but expect more from me in the next few months :)

*hugs to everyone and their Wraithy boys*

The time when you have to make a claim is when you find out just how reliable your insurance carrier is, isn't it? They better treat you as a valued customer. Two weeks off sounds excellent.

It wasn't too hard but the thought bubbles got a little annoying sometimes. I had to retake the screenshots a few times. Astor's thought bubbles were the worst because I put his aspiration as romance so he always thinking about getting some. :P I guess it's not much different to how he is in the coh. Alec on the other hand kept thinking about marriage.

It is too flippin' hot in this hiveship! The power company fried our Central air unit when installing a special device that helps the AC save energy (so dad could get a discount on the electric bill). The idiot wired the box wrong and when he threw the circuit breaker, our outside condenser blew. So we've been without AC for 4 days, and the power company is giving dad bull about replacing the AC. At least the idiots gave us free box fans. We're looking at a $3500 replacement install on the outside condenser. D:

Links should not be a problem as they just are text with a hyperlink to a remote location.

Once we put the change in place, these links will continue to function, however off-site linked dynamic/static images wont work.

The new siggy rules: this is the only forum I've been to that allowed dynamic sig's so it's not a big deal for me if they change it to static and on GW only. It's a good idea anyway I think because there are certain sig's that slow down the forum for me.

Good luck with the new company, Leeta! These phone/internet companies can be a right pain.

Once again, sorry for not being online in a while. As many promises as I make, RL always seems to jump in and attack me with a stick, halting my ability to venture online. Thanks to all of you who have offered the services of your Wraith boys on facebook :P Since no one from work is on GW, I can now safely tell you why I am so furious:

I'm not sure if you remember a few months back, the accommodation lady (who I have decided to nickname "Umbridge", because of her similarity to said HP character) tried to get me to live with the slimiest, dirtiest, least hygienic IT guy known to human kind? Well, apparently he's now moving into Tatnells (my "home"), which means that my permanency within said building is on tenterhooks. The staff accomodation at P.A. makes no logical sense. Those with full time positions (who are subsequently making double the amount I am) have security with their staff accomodation, whereas those who need it most are thrust out in the street! For example, in August I have had to part with $400 AU for peninsula accomodation because the ANU conference is coming to P.A. and need all the hostel space. Add petrol, lack of work and food and I'm in the red for this month. Furthermore, when summer comes, Kate and myself (as permanent guides) have less "right" to a room than the summer guides, which means I will probably have to share a room with slimy IT guy. I have tried to explain to "Umbridge" that guides (including summer guides) need their own space, and as adults were are entitled to our privacy. Furthermore, I have explained that I need to study for my masters, and cannot do so if I'm sharing a room, but she's as useless as they come. In fact, everyone in Admin at this place looks at the guiding staff as though we're the dirty scum around the rims of the toilet bowl. We are the lowest in the hierarchy here, yet we're the public face of this damned place!!! GRRRRRRR!

Sorry about the rant everyone. I desperately needed to do that. I am just so damned angry at the moment that I'm seriously contemplating resigning from this job after September (as opposed to next February). I did not go to Uni for four years to be treated like a child by a woman whose only qualification for her job is that she has spent her whole life living on the Peninsula.

If you are losing more money than you are earning, you need to get out of there! *sends hugs* Back in the 1800s, mining towns did that to workers here in the US because they owned all the food stores and housing and the workers didn't have cars and phones to be able to get jobs or move anywhere else: the debt kept them trapped.

I think you would be happier working in a more populated area with more opportunities, especially at a university.

Thanks for the support everyone :) It really means alot to me. You're reactions are similar to those of my fellow colleagues (those who have chosen to take up permanent residence on the Tasman Peninsula). Sharing accommodation is fine, I mean I wouldn't even mind living with the IT guy (presuming he realised that the dinner table was a table, not a computer desk and he didn't put his beer cans in the sanitary bin), but the system here lacks logic - it simply doesn't make sense. If I'm going to be treated like garbage from Wewads in administration, I would rather it be closer to home - so that at least I'm not losing money out of it!!! My parentals told me to write to my direct boss (in charge of guiding), and let him battle it out with the admin (afterall, they're hardly going to listen to me, a lowly guide). If the situation is not resolved, I'll resign in September and start my Masters early. Hmmmm.

Once again, thanks for the support :) It really does mean so much to me!

@ Addict: This is something I don't like to make comments about generally, as I've suffered quite extensively because of envy/feeling threatened in colleagues, just because I happen to function at a faster rate than they do. You make a fair point. Actually, I've made a nice goal for myself that I will cease to whinge about the situation. Yes, it's a complete pain, but whinging about it to every living creature under the sun won't help the situation. This is a situation won by a clear concise argument and infallible logic. As such, I intend to worry about it when I've had time to "cool off". As for perspective, this situation has reminded me very clearly that my future lies with academia, and I should gather my wits and get back on that path asap. Thanks for your support :) If it hadn't been for the help of everyone here, as well as colleagues and family I would have been storming up to the admin building on Friday in a raging fury. Now I can tackle the situation with a little more dignity and calm.

Good luck with your future ventures - they sound exciting! :D

I'm feeling like standing at a crossroads too. Something is going to happen this year but I don't know what it is yet. Fact is, I can't stay unemployed till next year because my unemployment compensation runs out next spring. On the other hand, I'm shortly before signing a contract for a job that could at least fill the unpleasant gap in my curriculum and give me something to do again - but it's only a small job and I won't earn any money to speak of. Finding a bigger job proves to be very difficult for a woman with a toddler to care for. Oh the joys of being discrimintated simply for being female.
Still, it's itching in my fingers and I'm growing restless. My dream of some day publishing some of my art or writing is still there and I feel something could be happening if I keep working hard on improving.

Good luck with your situation, DS! Being at the crossroads can be incredibly daunting, but I guess it's just a matter of picking a path and making the most of it. I've had a poem published once and even though I didn't make any money, it was still exciting. I hope to go back to school once my daughter goes to school full time, which won't be for another year.

Wonderful x 2! :D What is your poem about and can you share it? What do you want to go back to school for?

I don't have the poem in my hands and it is kind of old so I can't remember exactly what I wrote. I originally wrote it when I was 14 or 15 about my first breakup. So it's really kind of an depressing poem and is something that kind of disgusts me now. When I was a junior in high school I entered the poem into a contest for a book called 'Young American Poets' and they chose my poem to publish in the book. I was suppose to get a free copy of the book but never got it. :S I think my poem was published in the 2004 edition. My English teacher said employers would find it interesting if I were to put in my resume about my poem being published. Unfortunately none of my past bosses seemed to even care about it.

As for the school I have no idea yet. :o Maybe something computer related.

edit: @TP: I hope you have fun with your son and enjoy your time with him! :D

Even if you can't relate to it so much now, it fit the theme of the book about being a young adult. Congrats!

I've never, ever been asked about my coursework, extracurricular activities, grade point average, or anything related to school. :S Instead, I've had dumb questions like "How much money do you think (insert totally unrelated job title here) makes?" and "If you had to be born as a non-human animal, what kind would you be and why?" :mckay:

I'd like to introduce a new OC named Kal. He will probably be mainly used for my fan fics and comics and maybe the occasional visit to the COH. Also is it a big deal that I make this OC related to Johnny (my now inactive OC)?

Kal: (Leeta OC. Son of Johnny who went back to Earth to start his own business.)
Kal is a half human and half wraith born on Earth. He has a lot of wraith features and abilites, but also resembles his human mother. Like his father, he has travelled to many places in the Milky Way and Pegasus Galaxy. He is a blade but also has some cleverman qualities. Pic: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v185/Spasiba1/kal.jpg

I may also do a character bio for mama & baby yeti later since DS is doing one for Monty. =)

Is he old enough for adult activities? He looks adolescent, which is probably ok. We had an upset a while back in the COH with hybrid babies (Steve: Babies?) so we had to make the rule that, given the adult nature of the COH, it was not a suitable place for babies or children. :o

I like to think of him as being between 80-100 years old. I can't really add age to sim2 characters so they look very young until the day they turn into an elder. So I think in human terms and wraith terms he is old enough for 'adult' activities...unless others object. :) He is basically a 'replacement' for 'Johnny' for me since I missed having a wraithy pirate around. I won't be worshipping him and he'll probably annoy my other wraith with his bad habits that he inherited from his dad. :P

The baby yeti is only interested in Alec, as a father figure, and will be very rarely seen after the last post I made of him. But if others don't want him there at all then I won't be offended to leave him out. I think his mother has a interest in becoming a worshipper. :S Even if I make a bio for her she probably will only visit the COH once in a while or appear the next time there may be a Swedonia plot in the other threads.

Really? I think the Japanese language sounds lovely. It has a far softer sound than most Eastern Asian languages, and I understand a fraction of it, which is brilliant.

I'm keen for a Japanese theme if there is plenty of vegetarian sushi and a significant lack of their usual fishy delights. I know it's all replicated in the COH, but I have serious ethical problems with the way that-!

Actually, sushi refers to the sticky, seasoned rice* and is not synonymous with raw fish. I am partial to seaweed rolls stuffed with avocado, carrot, sesame seeds, and cucumber. Mushrooms or asparagus are also filling options. Then, there is also the dessert-like sushi inari, which is sushi rice stuffed in syrupy sweet bean curd wraps. :)

*(the Japanese word su means 'vinegar,' and shi is from meshi, the Japanese word for 'rice,' hence sushi is 'vinegared rice') http://www.sushifaq.com/sushi.htm

I vaguely remember reading that somewhere! I do adore sushi, but in western culture most people associate it with raw fish (which, naturally, I do not eat). Your sushi preference sounds delicious! I'll have to try that one soon. I'm also rather fond of sushi rolls with teriyaki marinated tofu, carrot and cucumber :)

I agree re the Japanese language! One of my co-workers said, "Isn;t it all very harsh and staccato?" No idea where she got that from, unless it was old Hollywood war movies! :P I find spoken Japanese is very soft and melodic.

As for sushi, well as I'm supposed ot be eating like a caveman (it helps with the Fibromyalgia) I shouldn't eat rice - and especially not sushi inari (which sounds delicious, by the way).
But while my son's been here I've been eating all sorts of junk food that he's insisted on having, but as of tomorrow I'm back on nothing but veggies, fruit and meat.
That still leaves me plenty of options for the COH party though...

Like chocolate dipped lychees, butterfly prawns, veggie tempura... preferably all eaten off the washboard-hard stomach of a nekkid Wraith, lightly sprinkled with miso... ;) :D :P

Seth: What's sprinkled with miso - the veggie tempura or the nekkid Wraith? :P

TP: Both!

Steve: *facepalm*

Yummy! Those sound delicious. I've totally given up meats and chicken but I still don't mind eating fish once in a great while. It's mainly because of my love for the Japanese foods that I'm a little hesitant to give up fish. Back home in the US there is a small Japanese take out, and I love their food there. Whenever my husband, boyfriend at the time, came over to visit we almost always went there for lunch. He hated the first bite of the tuna sushi we ordered so I ended up stealing his plate. xD I always wanted to try tofu and never knew you could put into the rolls. There's a local supermarket near me that sells Japanese ingredients. I think I may have to try and make some of my own tofu dishes.

Ah! Chocolate dipped lychees! Want! :D Oh, and chocolate dipped Wraoth as well! :P

@Leeta: Tofu can be very tasty and easy to prepare. :D I love it and even my hubby has gotten used to it - he was very suspicious of it at first. :P

DS and Leeta: I hope you can find a creative outlet that can help you achieve your dreams and further your career prospects :)

Bajka: Maybe JL was waiting for you to kiss him so he could turn into a Wraith... instead of a frog turning into a prince? :p

HR: Great pic of Sally :)

Leeta: Kal sounds like fun, I look forward to reading about him :)

General apology:

I am sorry for not being active the past few weeks. The past two weeks in particular have ben very draining on me and my family. My nan had to have a cancer op and she was in hospital for a number of days and her and my grandad stayed with us for a number of days after too. Thankfully she has had some good news, that the cancer hasn't spread and that she won't even have to have radiotherapy now :)

My experiments with 3D Wraith are improving and I'm getting a bit more practised now, so hopefully I will have some results to show you soon :D I've even started a female Wraith, so hopefully HR will be catered for too :p

Hope you are all well *hugs*

The shaved ginger side condiments are also delicious. I've even grown to like wasabi, but prefer it on rice crackers. :)

veggie tempura...

Along the same line, veggie gyoza potstickers are also delicious. :mckayanime08:

I recommend trying tofu at a Chinese restaurant first, so you can get a feel of how it is traditionally prepared. Store-bought just isn't the same for me. If you want to try cooking with it yourself and have many brands to chose from, pick one that was made with calcium chloride as the salt (extra calcium for you) and stay away from the silken styles (unless you are using it in a dessert).

 *big hugs* You're not alone: I've lost several relatives to cancer and my mother is battling it right now. It's rough. :( If you ever want to vent to someone about it, you can PM me. I'm glad to hear it hasn't spread and will think positive thoughts for your family. Take care of yourself too. Making 3D Wraith sounds like a relaxing, fun pastime and I look forward to seeing your art.

^^ I agree with this. I was fortunate enough to live with someone over summer who knew how to prepare tofu to perfection, therefore I developed a taste for it. She even taught me how to prepare it properly.
