Name: "Keith"

Team: Jasper's Hive... one of them ;)

Rank: drone

Age: about 8,000

Species: wraith

Gender: male

Height: 6ft 7''

Appearance: Keith generally appears with tribal influences; his hair, nearly long enough to be level with the middle of his back, is dipped in black dye, with wooden beads in some of the strands alongside braids. His mask has a geometric pattern painted onto it, although how and by who still remains a mystery as it won't come off. He wears a human-tooth necklace underneath his armour, and has an ornate tattoo depicting a mongolian mythical animal over his right arm which extends right down to his hand. His clothing appears to be mongolian in origin despite being made primarily of leather and cotton, from the lined boots soled in metal to the stiff leather bracers engraved with knotwork.

Character specialties: mace fighting, hand-hand combat, metal-working

Personality: While ridgid in his thought patterns, Keith has somehow survived long enough to develop enough nuances to be considered an individual. Obediant to all higher ranked than him, he seems to possess a certain amount of intelligence, enough to be adaptable - if he sees one option as better than the other, he will voluntarily make that choice instead of waiting for it to be ordered. Another nuance comes from a bunch of recently culled earthlings. From them, he now seems to have taken to patrolling the corridors of whatever Hive he's on while humming the 'mission impossible' themesong. He's got a weakness for the scent of coffee, given how he can't actually eat anything through his mask.

Other:
o. He can project his thoughts into the minds of those around him, as his method of 'speech'
o. For the love of wadjet, don't tickle him - he's got one hell of a knee-jerk response
o. When all else fails, try and surprise him.

Note on Spike's owner guide

This is what is currently up for Spike: Spike (SGA Wraith) ciannwn, Draygon and Draco-Stellaris. Fandom Addict has permenant permission to Borrow and Worship him.

Do I take it that TP and SW are now sole RPers of Spike?

As far as I'm concerned Afa has unlimited access rights - she can borrow, worship, RP, whatever she wants whenever she wants *clings to Spike and snuggles* :D:D:D

My favorite image of him is hanging out AFA's window catching snowflakes with his tongue last winter!! :D

TP's HIve, season 4... not quite a Spike fic yet... but it's kind of about him :o
Let me dream about him for a couple of nights and make plans with him for his casino chain and then we'll really get going! :D

Summary:
TP adopts Spike and brings him to the hive... she's over the moon but someone is not the happiest wraith in the galaxy!

Spike Fever!

Seth saunters into the worshippers’ lounge, looking for TP and finds Steve, sitting on his own in a dark corner. “Yo, bro! Where’s TP?”
“She’s holed up in her boudoir with Spike!” Steve scowls.
“Ah, that explains it,” Seth replies.
“Explains what?”
“Grouch and Grumble standing guard outside her quarters and refusing to let anyone pass, even the Supreme Commander.”
“Those two are getting above themselves these days.”
“Oh my, we are grumpy today…”
Steve looks up and glowers at Seth, “After being made to wait an entire weekend to find out about Spike, poor TP is worn out from stress! But will she let me calm her? Noooooooo, it has to be Spike!”
“Poor baby,” Seth says, “Patience is not her strong suit… suit… cards… get it?”
Steve groans. “She’ll be impossible for days,” he grumbles, “It’ll be Spike this and Spike that. I bet she writes him loads of stories and starts drawing him!”
“Well, you’ve got to give her a few days to bask in him and him alone,” Seth tells him. “After all, she fell for Spike long before you managed to work your way under her skin, you know.”
“That’s precisely what worries me,” Steve scowls. “Maybe I was just a Spike substitute…”
“You’re worried!” Seth laughs good naturedly. “Just look in the mirror, bro – which one of us could pass for Spike’s pod brother?” Steve looks at Seth again and shrugs. “And the only way I’m different from him,” Seth adds, “Is my hair and beard – and they’re exactly like yours!”
“So how do you manage to stay so calm about it all, then?” Steve asks him.
“Because, unlike you, bro I don’t have much of an ego… I’d love her with all my heart even if she didn’t know I existed… in fact that’s exactly what I did do for quite some time before she noticed me! So it doesn’t matter how many other wraith she has, so long as I get some time with her I’m happy.”
“Yeah, me too, I suppose…” Steve shrugs sadly.
“No you’re not!” Seth laughs and cuffs Steve on the shoulder. “You want to run away with her and keep her all to yourself! You’ve just resigned yourself to sharing her, that’s all.”
Seth senses his mood as he replies, “Because she wouldn’t be happy with just me.”
“If she were forced to choose only one, she’d be with you, bro, you know that…” Seth tells him sympathetically.
“I guess… but it wouldn’t be very fair on you, bro and I’d hate for her to grow to resent me.”
“That would never happen - she’d find a way to stop being bored with just you!” Seth tries to jolly Steve out of it.
“Hmmm, I’m sure you didn’t mean that the way it sounded!” Steve replies, sensing Seth’s motivations and inwardly pleased that he cares enough to try to cheer him up. “Anyway, he’s here now and we all have to get used to it,” Steve adds. “Besides he sounds like he might actually be a cool guy.”
“Well, if TP loves him that much, he must be okay,” Seth gives Steve’s shoulder a reassuring brotherly squeeze. “Let’s go welcome him.”

TP's Hive, Season 4
3. Getting Re-acquainted

After so long apart Spike and TP’s reunion starts off a little awkwardly, but they soon begin to remember just what they missed and how much fun it will be catching up.

“You’ve certainly been very busy,” Spike tells TP as she emerges from her bathroom wrapped in a towel. “While you were in the shower, Todd filled me in on what’s been happening since I last saw you. The new Primary no less! I am honoured!” TP smiles awkwardly as she leans across Spike to reach for her hairbrush. “TP, I do believe you’re blushing!” Spike grins that lop-sided grin that makes him look so much like Seth.
TP knows she’s blushing and can’t help it. “It’s been a long time, Babe...”
Spike takes the brush from her hand. “Here, let me do that.” He sits in the middle of her bed and beckons for her to sit too. She clambers up, gripping her towel around her and sits cross-legged in front of him.
As he starts to brush her hair, she mentally kicks herself for being so tongue-tied. What is wrong with her? She’s wanted Spike for so long and now she has him she doesn’t know what to say to him!
“I like the colour – and the white streak – it suits you.” Spike gently pulls the brush through a tangle.
“Months ago I tried to do my hair like yours,” TP confesses. “But it didn’t really work. Seth was the one who suggested I go deep auburn all over and then when the Primary... well, it left me with the white streak.”
“It sounds like you’ve been through a lot, Babe.”
“I guess...” TP falls silent again. She hadn’t realised so much had happened since they last saw each other. How will they ever fill the gap?
“So, who’s this Seth guy?” Spike asks.
“Seth? He’s the Commander of my Hive,” TP replies awkwardly. “Todd gave me a hive for my birthday would you believe! He made me a queen and everything started from there and, well... I guess he told you everything.”
“Did you miss me that much?” TP twists round to look at him with a questioning frown. “That he felt he needed to give you a hive full of wraith who could be my pod brothers?”
This time, TP doesn’t just blush; a deep scarlet wash sweeps up from her chest, the heat of it making her feel quite uncomfortable. Spike smiles his lop-sided grin and snakes his arms around her waist. Leaning into the pile of pillows behind him, he settles her against his chest and snuggles her close.
“Yes,” TP whispers, “I did miss you that much.”

TP lies awake and watches Spike sleep. She keeps pinching herself; she can’t quite believe he’s really here. She stares at this face she dreamed about so often and thinks of SW’s joke about her hive being full of Spike-substitutes.
Is that all Seth is, she wonders, even Steve? She feels suddenly afraid and ashamed at the same time.
Spike snarls in his sleep and rolls over onto his side. She tentatively reaches out her hand to trace the tattoos across his back with one finger. When she brushes the spines down his vertebrae he snarls softly again.
TP sighs and feels like a love-struck teenager. She lies down and snuggles into his back, sliding her arms through his, putting the flat of her hand on his chest and burying her face in his hair.
She feels his hand move to cover hers just before he says sleepily, “I missed you too, TP.”
She falls into a contented, dreamless sleep.

They both wake several times through the night; sometimes just watching each other sleep; sometimes to love each other with a passion fuelled by long absence; sometimes just talking quietly in the dark, catching up with their lives since they last saw each other.
“You’ve been very patient,” Spike whispers. The whole hive seems dark and quiet, as if everyone has discreetly gone off-ship to give them privacy.
TP laughs softly. “You should tell Steve that – he thinks just the opposite.”
“Does he know how long you waited for me?” TP doesn’t answer. “I remember how you were always trying to steal me away.”
“The good old days of the potted plants,” TP says and Spike can hear her smile in the dark.
“It was fun, wasn’t it?” They lie together in silence for a long time and then Spike adds, “It’s good to be back in the thick of it again.”
“What do you think you’ll do here?” TP asks him, “Once you’re settled in.”
“Casino! You promised!” Spike laughs - a warm, deep, growl of a laugh that makes TP feel like she’s been dipped in hot-spiced tea then wrapped in a fluffy towel.
“Todd’s looking forward to that,” she tells him, “He likes games.”
“Most wraith do,” Spike says. “Talking of, how’s Eddie – still compiling his manuals?”
“Oh yes,” TP laughs. “He has a very impressive collection these days!”
“I must borrow them from him some day,” Spike grins that lop-sided grin that always makes TP’s stomach flip. “And Steve – does he still spend all day in front of a mirror?”
“Well, no actually...” TP feels slightly defensive but reminds herself just how long Spike has been away. “He’s been through a lot too, Spike,” she says. “He’s turned over a new leaf.”
“Really? That’s a surprise,” Spike says completely without malice. “A good one, though.”
“Seth has been good for him, I think.”
“They get along well, then?”
“They do now,” TP tells him, “Though Seth resists all Steve’s attempts to rope him into martial arts and running.”
“Hmmm...”
TP props herself up on her elbow and looks down at Spike, watching his golden eyes glint in the gloom. “Hmmm, what?” she says.
“Well, I’m a quite athletic,” Spike says teasingly. “You know, sprinting through hotel kitchens, jumping off roofs...”
TP laughs easily. “Maybe you and Steve have something in common after all!”
“Besides being madly in love with you?” TP flushes fiercely and Spike pulls her closer to him. “You blush a lot more than I remember you did.”
“Like I said... it’s been a long time,” TP tries to make light of it. “I’ll get over it.”
“I hope not,” Spike teases, nuzzling her neck with his teeth. “So, you don’t think he’ll bite my head off?”
“Who?”
“Steve. If I offer to spar or run with him?”
“You know, I think he might even like that – although he’d never admit it.”
“That’s okay,” Spike says, covering TP’s feeding spot in kisses, “It’s a wraith thing.”
“It sure is,” TP sighs and loses herself in Spike.

TP's Hive, Season 4
4. Tentative Steps

Steve takes his courage in his hands and goes to offer friendship to the new arrival – what will be the outcome?

Steve sees who he’s looking for and takes a deep breath before he strides purposefully across the worshippers’ lounge. He stops in front of Spike.
“Hi,” Steve says, sounding much more confidently cheerful than he feels, “You must be Spike.”
Spike looks up and smiles Seth’s smile. “And you must be Steve,” he says.
Good grief, Steve thinks; he’d had a speech all worked out and now he’s forgotten every word of it! He’d come here with the intention of making the first move, to offer the hand of friendship for TP’s sake. But now he’s standing in front of Spike and can see how much he and Seth look alike, he’s not so sure. All those insecurities come flooding back to the surface as he remembers how nervous Seth made him feel in the beginning. Will he ever stop being afraid of losing TP?
“Em... it’s been as long time, hasn’t it?” Steve tries.
“Indeed. We’ve both changed a lot... or at least I hear that you’ve turned over a new leaf, anyway.”
He looks at Spike, uncertain how to react. He’s not sure what he expected. It was so long since he last saw Spike that he’d forgotten what he was like, but he doesn’t remember him being quite this... self contained. Perhaps that’s only to be expected from a wraith who’d been forced to live among only humans for so long.
“I also hear you’re a bit of an athlete,” Spike adds.
“I took on TP’s personal training,” Steve tells him, “Martial arts, sword work, tai chi on the beach to try to keep her calm... that sort of thing.”
“So no other wraith to pit your strength and speed against, then?”
“The rest of our group aren’t all that interested,” Steve tells him, forgetting himself and warming to this wraith in spite of his fears. “They’re either too busy or more into spiritual stuff.”
“I’m interested.”
Steve looks at Spike and suddenly sees what TP sees in him. He’s relaxed and self-assured, yet there’s a vulnerability that Steve can understand would make TP want to look after him – and a gleam in his eye that says he knows how to have fun. The thought occurs to him that, just maybe, Spike might be the means for him to get closer to TP instead of being a wedge driven between them.
“So how about it, then?” Spike asks, his face open and friendly.
“I usually run on the beach on the holodeck early every morning. You could join me tomorrow, if you like.”
“Ah... a beach...” Spike muses. “I’m used to running in a different sort of environment... streets, buildings, roofs...”
“Oh, brilliant!” Steve beams. “Free Running!”
“What?” Spike grins.
“Oh, something I saw in TP’s computer once – a thing some of the humans do. Urban running, sort of like an obstacle course, through city streets – there’s endless possibilities to keep pushing your limits further.” Steve gets carried away with his enthusiasm and sits on the bench beside Spike.
“This holodeck, then,” Spike says, “Could we programme it for that?”
“We can programme as many different environments as we want,” Steve replies.
“Now you’re talking, bro!” Spike grins. “How long will it take?”
“Thirty minutes tops if we work on it together.”
“What are we waiting for then?” Spike says. “Where is this holdeck, anyway?”
“Directly opposite the sauna.”
“Race ya!” Spike grins and leaps off the bench, galloping toward the doorway.
“Last one there has to massage TP’s feet!” Steve hollers as he takes off after Spike, his hair flying behind him.

I love the way that Spike's arrival has made TP wonder about her relationships with Steve and Seth. And she'd just got her personal life sorted out too.

I went to wikipedia to find out what a baby shower is all about. I can just imagine some of these activities going on -

# Baby shower bingo. (Er ..yes .. Baby Poo - Number 2, Sickety Sick - Number 6)
# Guess the birth date.
# Guess the expectant mother's girth: guests cut pieces of ribbon, yarn, or toilet paper to a length they believe matches the mother-to-be's tummy circumference. Another similar game is tying a string around her abdomen, and if it breaks for one person, it's expected she or he is the next new parent. (Definitely not playing that one.)
# Guess the baby food flavour: guests have to taste-test several flavours of baby food and try to identify them. (Jimmy: Will there be any puréed rat?)
# Other games include a diaper, with candies or chocolates, throw game. (A clean diaper, I hope. :eek:)
# Pass the package (Package of what?)
# Sharing 3D ultrasound pictures of their unborn baby: to "include the baby" in the baby shower. (Well, Michael's had practise with using ultrasound for baby monitoring. :p)

Since the Seth portrait was based on a Spike screen grab, I tinkered and came up with the first one, which I think still looks too much like Seth, even if Seth could be Spike's pod brother! :P
So I started from scratch and drew Spike and the second is MUCH better IMHO... the second one is SPIKE - not so pretty, a bit more rugged and... well, yummy!! :D:D:D:D

It's definitely not on dA.

As for Photobucket, people can upload pics of anything because there's no way that the upload program can recognise the content of a photo. People who use Photobucket can report what they regard as inappropriate content, though, and the same goes for Picassa. It would be a pain if I put your pic on Picassa, linked to it from the website and it was then removed from my Picassa album because a couple of people had found it and complained.

dA does allow mature content which is why some artwork for the website can only be reached by following a link which has a warning.

TP's illustration hasn't been removed from Photobucket yet but there's a chance that somebody could complain. The same thing applies if I put it in a Picassa album so I could use it for the story. The other thing is that I don't want somebody complaining to Google about what's on the WWA site.

Since the Seth portrait was based on a Spike screen grab, I tinkered and came up with the first one, which I think still looks too much like Seth, even if Seth could be Spike's pod brother! :P
So I started from scratch and drew Spike and the second is MUCH better IMHO... the second one is SPIKE - not so pretty, a bit more rugged and... well, yummy!! :D:D

Having had the chance to talk to our Commanders and crew, they all feel decidely nervous and uncomfortable with the idea of a baby shower on the COH/TP's Hive, so we wondered if you'd mind having it elsewhere? (the shower that is - I guess you'll have the baby itself wherever and whenever it comes! :S)
I thought perhaps one of the venues on The Planet might be more appropriate - Elia might be very interested and Zaddik could help you with his herbal remedies?

The Lab would be a good place to have a baby shower and Ellia and Elric would be interested in the baby because they've considered the possibility of having a child themselves some time. Zaddik would be interested too - he adopted and raised the infant Ellia and I see him as the type of man who'd be looking forward to Ellia producing kids because he'd regard them as grandchildren. I'm sure he'd be happy to give the new mother parenting tips. :)

We'll have to sort the details out nearer the time, though, because The Lab is also the venue for meetings with representatives from the Atlantis expedition. Mar doesn't get much time to play these days - it wouldn't be fair to tell her she couldn't have an Atlantis plot in The Lab because there's a baby shower if it occurred at the only time she had free for a while. If The Lab is being used for something else the baby shower could be at the Hippie Commune.

Here's a suggestion: How about using the Off-World thread to create a temporary location to hold the baby shower. It wouldn't interfere with anyone. :)

wraith_whore said the baby isn't due for 3 months so we'll have finished the dragon hunting plot by then. Further off world expeditions will be run in the Off World thread. The cargo cruiser is equipped with darts so there's nothing to stop expedition characters from getting back to Copelandia by using stargates.

Other characters could take time off from an archaeological excavation to attend a baby shower too. The only situation I can think of which would prevent characters from attending is if they were patrolling on the battle cruiser because they're expecting trouble from Moana or whoever else turns up to cause conflict.

Which characters attend would also depend on the kind of individuals they are. Crockett would regard the birth of a child as a sacred moment because it's part of the wheel of life - he'd want to hold some kind of ceremony to welcome the new arrival into the community. Archimedes is a people person even though he doesn't want a personal Worshipper so he'd want to go. Erik wouldn't be interested, however.

As for the rest of the characters I run, I wouldn't have all of them attending because there are only so many I can handle at one time. Ellia, Zaddik, Elric, Archimedes, Crockett and maybe Fred with a brief visit from Gordon, Darrell and Jean-Luc would be my limit.

SW and I were wondering if we could suggest that WW, Charles and their eagerly anticipated little bundle of joy might find that the Hippie Commune on the Planet would better suit their RPing needs? You’d have everything you need on hand there and it would be a more suitable environment to raise a child.

The COH is not really part of the RPing side of WWA but more a place for relaxation and recreation. It’s a place for pampering and parties and playing.
Babies don’t really mix all that well with chocolate wrestling, casinos and gutter talk!
I could just imagine Steve’s reaction if I told him “Sorry, Babe I can’t lick the chocolate off you right now cos Steve Junior needs changing!” :S
And as for Eddie! Well, I really don’t think he’d be a good influence on any child! :eek:

I agree that having a baby doesn't fit the theme of the COH thread. It would be a good role playing plot in the main game world, though, and I think the Hippie Commune would be the ideal location for a baby. Seeing the new arrival might even nudge Ellia and Elric into producing a child because they talked about having one ages ago but never got round to it.

As the COH is outside the main game world, players can forget whatever plots their characters are involved in and just go there for a party or chilling out in recliners with favourite Wraith. If wraith_whore's characters lived in the Hippie Commune she could have a proper role playing plot involving the baby there but she wouldn't be stuck with having to look after an infant during a COH party.

I was hoping maybe that Charles could be transferred back to his original hive (Boris' Hive) and me, Danny and Christhart to move with him. The reason I would like to make this choice is I would like to bring Christhart and Kit together, and think that this would be a healthy relationship for the upbringing of both. That is of course with your permission.

Since DS would like to see some rolplaying during the pregnancy and add this to the story, I have edited my previous to move to Boris' Hive with myself, Charles and Danny with whoever's permission and I will still visit the CO Hive, just like what was suggested. :D

This really depends on if there's anyone available to role play Kit. Draygon has given me and DS Borrowing permission but my Borrowing has been limited to mentioning him in passing because I'm hopeless at role playing small children. There's also the problem that my characters on Boris's hive tend to be heavily involved with other plots and three of them are already keeping an eye on MCH's young Wraith, Adam, between them. (These three are Neo, Fred and Archimedes).

Ellia, Zaddik and Elric, on the other hand, are permanently based at the Commune and Ellia is only involved in a plot if it needs her to have a say in something as a Queen. It would be much easier to keep interaction going with your characters in the Commune and Kit could always visit Christhart if DS or Draygon have the time to role play him.

I'm sorry if I'm coming across as a spoil sport but the way things are at the moment I'm -

1: Role playing my own characters - Ciannwn, Boris, Neo, Fred, Gawain, Jimmy, Dave, Archimedes, Erik, Crockett, Ellia, Zaddik, Hector, Jean-Luc, and Shawn. I also role play some of the unadopted characters like Hermiod, Gordon and Darrell if neccessary

2: I've got half shares in new characters which have appeared in the dragon hunting plot - a Worm, a Water Worm, a Quito, two Intelligent Iguanas, an Intelligent Llama, a Wraith from an alternate universe and a human girl who has started a relationship with Hector. I've also got half shares in Gloria who is part of Kenny's organisation.

3: I've also got limited Borrowing permission for Tommy to keep a zoo plot moving if DS isn't online and Mar recently said I can role play her characters while she's busy with real life. These characters are Mar, Kenny and Chris.

This really depends on if there's anyone available to role play Kit. Draygon has given me and DS Borrowing permission but my Borrowing has been limited to mentioning him in passing because I'm hopeless at role playing small children. There's also the problem that my characters on Boris's hive tend to be heavily involved with other plots and three of them are already keeping an eye on MCH's young Wraith, Adam, between them. (These three are Neo, Fred and Archimedes).

Ellia, Zaddik and Elric, on the other hand, are permanently based at the Commune and Ellia is only involved in a plot if it needs her to have a say in something as a Queen. It would be much easier to keep interaction going with your characters in the Commune and Kit could always visit Christhart if DS or Draygon have the time to role play him.
I'm sorry if I'm coming across as a spoil sport but the way things are at the moment I'm -

1: Role playing my own characters - Ciannwn, Boris, Neo, Fred, Gawain, Jimmy, Dave, Archimedes, Erik, Crockett, Ellia, Zaddik, Hector, Jean-Luc, and Shawn. I also role play some of the unadopted characters like Hermiod, Gordon and Darrell if neccessary

2: I've got half shares in new characters which have appeared in the dragon hunting plot - a Worm, a Water Worm, a Quito, two Intelligent Iguanas, an Intelligent Llama, a Wraith from an alternate universe and a human girl who has started a relationship with Hector. I've also got half shares in Gloria who is part of Kenny's organisation.

3: I've also got limited Borrowing permission for Tommy to keep a zoo plot moving if DS isn't online and Mar recently said I can role play her characters while she's busy with real life. These characters are Mar, Kenny and Chris.

I'd like to request that Keith be removed from the Game Guide. Rping him isn't as much fun as I thought it'd be, to be honest. Or alternatively, if anyone wants him as their own character, you're more than welcome.

*Role Playing Plot Discussion*

The Cantina plot has nearly reached a conclusion so could we finish it as quickly as possible and then not have any more plots for a while?

I'm currently running the entire Hippie Commune by myself to give wraith_whore's characters somebody to interact with and last night I ended up trying to keep IV company in the Cantina plot as well because DS had gone and neither Cat nor MCH turned up.

The situation at the moment is -

Draygon isn't role playing during university term time.

Mar has taken an extended leave.

MCH and WraithCat can't make it very often.

PA only plays in the COH when she's here.

DS can only be here part time.

If we don't have a plot, IV and wraith_whore can keep each other company if there's nobody else but me here and I need to work on the website.

I can't go back to putting in 16 hour days again so I work on the site until IV and WW turn up and then spend the rest of the time role playing until around midnight ( my back is a lot worse since I fell over so I have to lie down and rest more often). I could do with a few days break just to finish adding all the new things to the guides and then there's other things I'd like to do -

1: Try writing another story with Ciannwn and Boris because I rarely get a chance to role play them these days. This is rather sad when Ciannwn is my game alter ego and Boris is my special Wraith.

3: Do some more work on the photo manipulations I started.

4: Catch up with some discussions elsewhere in the forum.;

5: Play on my gamesite a bit more.

6: Read the new Discworld book.

I'm sorry about letting you down where having an archaeology plot's concerned but it would just be you playing Jasper, and me running the main archaeology team with DS, MCH and Cat joining in when they can. I can't cope with this as well as playing the entire Hippie Commune to keep the baby plot going and running the WWA website.

The only way we could possibly have this plot is if WW split her characters up so Danny joined the archaeology team and Charles and Joanne went 'on hold' until the dig's over.

I honestly don't know. The way things are at the moment it could take us over a month of real time just to role play a couple of days in game time. Artefacts also have to be catalogued and any texts translated after the dig. Jasper is donating artefacts and texts that he's collected to the museum so these need to be sorted out in the game as well.

There are other bits and pieces to attend to before we could even start an archaeology plot, though. Jasper is joining one of the communities - whichever one he moves into (Boris's crew, the Hippies or the Pirates) he needs to be introduced to the characters concerned and settled in. Some of the new characters from the Cantina plot are coming back for a visit too so DS and I will be role playing them looking round Boris's Hive and the Island.

It's just a thought... perhaps if the RP threads were a bit more like the COH then it wouldn't really matter if folks can't get there for a while. I don't know... just a thought... I don't really get involved in the RP threads for that reason - it seems to me it's more like work than fun! :S :o

I have a few more minifics but I'll hang on to them for a while and give you a break, C *hug* In the meantime I'll work on some illustrations.
btw C - please feel free to visit the COH with Boris for some much needed and spontaneous R&R :) I;m sure Greg would be pleased to see you too! :D

The thing is that this is the kind of role playing some of us want to do. Under normal circumstances it's as much fun for us as writing the TP's Hive stories and illustrating them is fun for you.

I've been trying to keep something about archaeology going for Draygon because she wants an archaeology plot when she comes back to role playing. So do I and IV is interested in archaeology too.. DS likes zoo hunting expeditions because one of her Wraith is a zoologist. I like zoo plots as well because it's fun inventing new species of animals and this one has produced some more alien races.

I agree with you and SW that the COH isn't suitable for a baby plot and the best place for it is the Hippie Commune. The big problem is that there's nobody available to be involved with this plot but me at the moment. This made things very difficult last night when I was trying to keep IV company in the dragon hunting expedition plot we've been running for ages because DS had to go and neither MCH or Cat put in an appearance.

It's just a thought... perhaps if the RP threads were a bit more like the COH then it wouldn't really matter if folks can't get there for a while. I don't know... just a thought...

It's got to the stage where they'll have to be because I can't do the baby plot by myself + keeping someone else company in another plot when the others involved with it aren't online + keeping the archaeology ticking over for Draygon + taking on Kenny's Coffee Empire while Mar isn't here. The last would be a pointless undertaking anyway when the only other player involved with Kenny's Coffee Empire is MCH because she can only get on a couple of times a week and is already in the zoo plot.

I have a few more minifics but I'll hang on to them for a while and give you a break, C *hug* In the meantime I'll work on some illustrations.

Please post your minifics and artwork because we love reading your stories and seeing your pics. You can email the story copies for the website later on when things have settled down a bit.

Ciannwn, the arechology plot can veryh easily be put on hold and I can start it up again when I'm not under a mountain of course work. That way, you wouldn't have to worry about it :)

Thanks. It won't be completely forgotten until then, though, because the iguana who was worn as a hat is part of the Intelligent Iguana's history - Pink Thcaleth and Long Tail will probably want to visit Frog City to see where it all happened. The children's stories about Granny Luli and her lizard are also related to Frog City and I have an idea for a minific about Crockett and the Copelandia villagers which will also tie in.

Kenny's Coffee Empire will just have to be put on hold until Mar comes back.

I think it would be best to wait until the dragon hunting plot is finished and we aren't doing anything particularly complicated. DS and I could then spread things out a bit between us - eg I role play taking Jasper and the Iguanas to Frog City while game DS and Tommy meet Joanne, Charles and Danny in the Commune. DS can also role play Ellia, Elric and Zaddik if necessary. When MCH is able to come on she can play her character, Eve, who lives in the Commune.

That wasn't quite what I meant :S
I appreciate that we all have different ways of being creative, but when it stops being fun you have to ask yourself why.
When I was running an ongoing plot in the TP's Hive stories and people kept asking for more eps, it got harder work but it was still fun. However I'm not doing that with Season 4 any more because I'd rather be more spontaneous again.

So I guess what I'm meaning here then is, what are the ABnormal cuircumstances that are sucking all the fun out of it for you?
If people lose interest in a plotline or aren't here for RL reasons, can that plotline not be dropped/put on hold?

Well yeah, technically the pregnancy has been "frozen". Once everyhing is normal and able to resume I wil "unfreeze" the pregnancy and give birth in 2 months time from that moment as I would like to RP the pregnancy also. :P

It's people not being here for RL reasons which has reached abnormal proportions at the moment. Nobody could be online all the time apart from me but if one player couldn't make it for a while there were always plenty of others here in the past. This isn't the case now, though.

Kenny's Coffee Empire will have to be put on hold. Mar said I can play her characters while she's away but I've just remembered that there's more than Kenny, Chris and game Mar. Her characters also include Lorne and Ford (working for Kenny in our game world) plus all of the Atlantis expedition plus her adopted SGA Queen, Akasha, and Karl who is Boris's admin officer (although I already run him when neccessary because he can be Borrowed without permission). :eek: :eek: :eek:

Possible plan of action.

1: Complete the dragon hunting plot as soon as everyone's finished eating and drinking. This might mean ending it without Cat and MCH because we can't wait days just so their characters can have a few sandwiches.

2: Once the dragon hunt plot is over Jasper can move to Boris's Hive which will be the centre for role playing for a while. The two Iguanas can stay on it but our other alien friends go home again after a brief visit to Copelandia. (A Worm and Water Worm wouldn't be able to move round the inhabited parts of the hive anyway because Jimmy didn't design the rooms for individuals their size.)

3: wraith_whore can have her characters visit Boris's Hive. Danny and Charles could even get involved in activities there while Joanne is left at the Commune because Ellia and Zaddik would look after her.

4: There's little point in wraith_whore taking on any characters who are based on the Island such as Taina because she'll only end up talking to herself if players running other characters in this location aren't available. Ending the dragon plot will free Cat's and MCH's characters to call in at the Commune whenever they're online. DS's characters can call in on occasion too and I can make the occasional post for Ellia and other Hippies.

Sorry about that, but with the illness I have concentrating can be very hard at times, and I get very confuesd by the plots in the other threads. Plus I'd never RPd before I came on GW, and at the moment the extent I can cope with is the COH and mayeb something very non-commital (like a party) in other threads.

PS: Talking of Mar's characters, I've just discovered three more - she adopted Vincent and created Tharaison who oversees Kenny's plantations and a puppy.

3: Some of Mar's characters can be Borrowed without permission but they're members of the Atlantis expedition who are just involved in an alliance plot. Beckett's the only one who is really free to turn up at any time but if you took him on you'd be talking to yourself when he visited the Island to give Joanne checkups.

PS: Talking of Mar's characters, I've just discovered three more - she adopted Vincent and created Tharaison who oversees Kenny's plantations and a puppy.

And I play both characters.

Charles and Danny don't have to serve on Boris's hive. They can live in the Commune and visit the hive to join in some activities. The pregnancy plot can continue as and when there's somebody available to make a couple of posts relating to it every so often.

Sorry about that, but with the illness I have concentrating can be very hard at times, and I get very confuesd by the plots in the other threads. Plus I'd never RPd before I came on GW, and at the moment the extent I can cope with is the COH and mayeb something very non-commital (like a party) in other threads.

It's not your fault you're ill and you've taken on the job of records keeper.

Do I need to contact hollowpoint about Sally or Ruby, or is that DS and WraithCat's thing? Also, do they need to set up themselves first and then wait a bit like WW had to to adopt? I don't think Sally or Ruby are in the game, so it would be a bit difficult for him to worship if she's not in the game world yet :S
EDIT: DS has replied about contacting him, Since she's more one for actually sorting out characters I will leave that part in her capable hands.

Hello and welcome! :D I'm going to contact you in a mo (if PA doesn't have already)

It's people not being here for RL reasons which has reached abnormal proportions at the moment. Nobody could be online all the time apart from me but if one player couldn't make it for a while there were always plenty of others here in the past. This isn't the case now, though.

I'd love to be online for longer and more often, like I did in january to march. But things in RL have changed a bit: since I'm working part time again I can't make it every day during daytime. I try to keep on eye on GW when I'm at work but RPing is out of the question (I tried recently and ended up with writing utter nonsense because I couldn't concentrate :o)
And when I'm at home I have to care for DS junior who is becoming more demanding as he grows up. I can't stay long in the evenings either because I have to get up very early in the mornings – no matter if I go to work or not. Hubby needs to get up at 5:00 AM (GMT+1) and me too because DS junior wakes up as well at that time.

I hope things will settle down a bit and I can be online during the Christmas holidays.

If anyone needs any help to RP characters they think I may be able to successfully at ANY time. Just let me know, I would like to help take some weight from people shoulders and help in any way I can. :)

Possible plan of action.

1: Complete the dragon hunting plot as soon as everyone's finished eating and drinking. This might mean ending it without Cat and MCH because we can't wait days just so their characters can have a few sandwiches.

2: Once the dragon hunt plot is over Jasper can move to Boris's Hive which will be the centre for role playing for a while. The two Iguanas can stay on it but our other alien friends go home again after a brief visit to Copelandia. (A Worm and Water Worm wouldn't be able to move round the inhabited parts of the hive anyway because Jimmy didn't design the rooms for individuals their size.)

3: wraith_whore can have her characters visit Boris's Hive. Danny and Charles could even get involved in activities there while Joanne is left at the Commune because Ellia and Zaddik would look after her.

4: There's little point in wraith_whore taking on any characters who are based on the Island such as Taina because she'll only end up talking to herself if players running other characters in this location aren't available. Ending the dragon plot will free Cat's and MCH's characters to call in at the Commune whenever they're online. DS's characters can call in on occasion too and I can make the occasional post for Ellia and other Hippies.

Yanra hasn't been used much but Draygon's the only one who has been given permission to Borrow him. Even if Fandom Addict gave you permission, though, Yanra is based on the Island. He's also involved with Afa and Spike. Fandom Addict doesn't have time to play now so there's nobody to run Afa and Spike has been adopted by TP and has moved to the COH.

Character Guide Amendment

The following needs altering -

Pirates: Permanent residents of the Pirate Camp. They are Jean-Luc, Darrell, Gordon, Bob and Gowen.

Bob is no longer in the Pirate Camp because Geeky adopted him and he now lives with her.

You didn't get him into any rut - you were developing him as a character and this is what the game is all about. The dragon hunting plot has only been a few days when measured by 'in game' time - it's just taken a couple of weeks in RL time because DS can only be on part time and MCH and Cat don't turn up very often.

We don't know what we're doing ourselves yet. Once we've figured out a plan of action we can all decide the best way of going about things.

*Role Playing Plot Discussion*

The Cantina plot has nearly reached a conclusion so could we finish it as quickly as possible and then not have any more plots for a while?

I'm currently running the entire Hippie Commune by myself to give wraith_whore's characters somebody to interact with and last night I ended up trying to keep IV company in the Cantina plot as well because DS had gone and neither Cat nor MCH turned up.

The situation at the moment is -

Draygon isn't role playing during university term time.

Mar has taken an extended leave.

MCH and WraithCat can't make it very often.

PA only plays in the COH when she's here.

DS can only be here part time.

If we don't have a plot, IV and wraith_whore can keep each other company if there's nobody else but me here and I need to work on the website.

Sorry for not being here as much as I should, but RL is just very busy. :o
There´s still the remaining Ancient Greek exam I really must not fail and for that I´have to learn a lot. :(
And there´s also the timezone. You know I am 1 hour before you and I can´t stay up as long as you. :o And it seems the most rping happens when either I´m at uni or long in bed. :(

From now until this problem is solved my characters are allowed for borrowing without permission if needed but i doubt i need to resort to that since i'm on alot of the time

This will be very useful if you can't get on due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, internet problems or any of the other annoyances that RL throws at us. I wouldn't try to role play your characters as such because you've just started developing them yourself but limited Borrowing means that characters can be moved around or sent to make lunch to 'explain' why they aren't joining in a conversation etc.

5. Why Wraith Are Green
Seth meets Spike for the first time and his reaction surprises even himself...

“And then there was the time when she came down with flu, poor baby...”
Seth can hear Steve’s voice but can’t place where they are until he reaches the back of the gym hall and realises that Steve and Spike are in the shower bay. He rounds the head height partition and stops in his tracks when he sees them.
“What’s flu?” Spike asks Steve.
“Oh, it’s a human disease,” Steve goes on. “Anyway, we all took turns to look after her. And we’d no sooner nursed TP back to full health than SW came down with some kind of virus and we’d to take care of her, too.”
Seth doesn’t even make any noise to announce his presence. Steve and Spike are completely relaxed, chatting as they shower, like they’d known each other for years. Seth notices that Steve is chattier and more animated than he’s seen him in a long time.
But what really draws Seth’s attention is Spike. Taller than Steve and with tousled hair more like Todd’s, his back is covered in tattoos in long, jagged sweeps across his back and arms. The style is tribal, very much like Todd’s tattoos, the ones TP always admires so much...
Suddenly, Steve sees Seth out of the corner of his eye and turns. “Hey, bro!” he calls out. “You two haven’t met yet, have you?”
The other wraith turns and Seth takes a sharp intake of breath. Spike’s face is so like his that, were it not for their tattoos, it would be like looking into a mirror.
Spike gives Seth an open, friendly smile and says, “Hi. TP told me we look alike but this is freaky – maybe we’re pod brothers?”
“I doubt it,” Seth says sullenly.
“You could be. You’re about the same age, aren’t you?” Steve says, turning the shower off and reaching for a towel. He wraps it around his waist and says, “I hope you remembered a change of clothes, Spike.” He turns to Seth. “Do you remember that day we forgot and had to walk through the hive in just a towel? I thought you were going to die of embarrassment!”
“We don’t all have an ego the size of yours,” Seth replies sharply.
“OooOOOOooo!” Steve, clearly in a good mood, laughs the insult off and heads for the lockers. “Same time tomorrow?” he says to Spike.
“New York or Sydney?” Spike asks Steve.
“Oh, definitely New York,” Steve replies, “That Brooklyn Bridge looks like a challenge!” He waves over his shoulder as he disappears out of sight.
Spike and Seth look at each other awkwardly for several minutes. Spike breaks the silence. “It kind of freaks me out a bit too, bro.” He flicks a towel off the rail and wraps it round his waist in the same casual manner that Steve does. “But don’t worry,” he adds, “It just means TP has great taste in wraith.”
He wanders off, leaving Seth standing alone, frowning and wondering if that’s all it means.

“You were a bit rude!” Steve flings at Seth when he gets back to TP’s room that night. “Fortunately, Spike’s all loved-up from TP, so he’s gone off to SW tonight so she can show him how much she missed him too– so I won’t force you to apologize to him!”
“You’re in an uncommonly good mood,” Seth hurls back.
Steve pouts. “That’s hardly fair,” he says.
Seth sighs deeply but doesn’t reply. He dumps himself down in the sofa, turns on TP’s flat screen TV and starts channel hopping.
“Good grief! You’re giving me a run for my money with the sulking! What’s got into you?”
“Nothing,” Seth grunts.
“Okay,” Steve retorts, “You’ve got to get yourself out of this mood before TP gets back.”
“Why?”
“Because, as you know full well, she’s really busy and stressed at her Earth job...” Steve looks at Seth’s profile, set in a scowl. “She needs us, bro.”
“She doesn’t need me.”
Steve opens his mouth to speak, then shuts it again. He sighs. “What is wrong with you? I thought we’d sorted all this stuff out between us and you’ve been perfectly happy until...” Light dawns in Steve’s face. “Until you met Spike.”
Seth growls softly, his trademark half-smile twisting into a snarl.
Steve throws his head back. “Oh, bro! You’re not jealous, are you?”
“He’s the only reason she likes me and now he’s back, she doesn’t need me any more.”
“Wrong on both counts!” Steve says. “Three counts in fact!” he corrects himself. “She doesn’t just like you, she loves you,” Seth just sits and stares at the TV, arms folded across his chest. Steve continues regardless. “And she loves you because of who you are not who you look like.”
Frustrated, Steve gets up and stands in front of Seth, between him and the TV. “And after the way she was when you left the hive, how can you even think that she doesn’t need you?”
“That was before he came back.”
“You know you don’t really believe that.”
Seth sighs and looks at Steve for the first time and says, “I suppose I know in here it’s not true,” he taps his temple with one finger. “But in here, I’m not so sure,” and he thumps his own chest with his fist, right over his heart. “I thought you of all wraith would understand.”
Steve sighs heavily and sits down again. “I do, bro, I do... I just wish I knew what to say.”
Just then the door swishes open and TP comes in. She immediately rushes over to the sofa and flings herself down between the two of them. “What a day!” she says, “Am I glad to see you two!”
Neither wraith answer and she doesn’t need telepathy to sense the heavy atmosphere that radiates from them both.
She looks at each of them in turn. “What is it?” she asks, trepidation rising. “What’s wrong?”
