Okay so this also deals with my Fanfic that I am doing "Stargate Resurrection" I am on my third chapter and Six groups come through a supergate between this galaxy and PG one ori mother ship senses the gate activity and goes to welcome the new ori ships or so it thinks but when it arrives four hive groups have come through and two more are coming, so I want to know if such a meeting occured who would win, also remember the its not just the six hives its the six hives, hundreds if not thousands of darts, and 18 cruisers.

6 hive groups Vs. 1 Ori mothership

Depends on the tactics. A straight out shooting fest, the Cruiser MIGHT win, though the hives could pull off a victory (80%+ losses). Now, if they where to Use the fact that Hive ships are freaking huge, and Ram the Cruiser in a Valiant act, they could get off with very light casualties (3-4 Hives/Cruisers down)

The Wraith would own it IMO. The Ori's shields are unlikely to be many times stronger than our own Asgard shields, 3 Hive ships trashed the Phoenix in about a minute and a half, 6 Hives and 18 Cruisers will probably have about 4x times the firepower maybe more, the Ori mothership would go down pretty quickly.Robert Jastrow (self-proclaimed agnostic): "For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. Barring a surprise attack (like what enabled them to beat the Pheonix), 6 hives would be in a world of hurt because those secondary weapons which are capable of destroying capital ships with weak shields would eat into cruisers and hives. The main gun will probably score one shot kills on the hives if the uber beam takes only one or two shots do the same - the sledgehammer approach the toilet beam uses may be more effective against a mountain than a plasma beam. It doesn't take long for the ori to get off 6 shots from the main gun and in that time the secondary guns will mop up the rest. I'm sure the prior would avoid engaging more than 2 or 3 hives at a time if at all possible though (just like a 304 or aurora captain would).
If three hives can down a 304 with a surprise attack certainly 6 hives (with escorts) could do the same to a toilet lid.

Buba, your forgeting that Ori shields are properly powered, unlike our normal 304s. It would depend how well can wraith armor take ori weapons fire, whih i'd say well, considering the effects of ori main gun vs dakara superweapon. I'd give medium to high chances for the wraith to win, with some serious losses, 50-85%.

morrismike, it wasn't really that much of a surprise attack. The Phoenix dropped out of hyperspace and got pounded, its shields were up from the beginning of the battle. It actually lost the Asgard beam weapons in the first 10 seconds suffering fire from only a single Hive. I don't think the main beam will score one shot kills on the Hives, Hives IMO are just too big and resilient. The Ori have also only used the secondary canons once in the initial battle, I wouldn't count on them to take down masses of Cruisers.Robert Jastrow (self-proclaimed agnostic): "For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. The ori cruiser would get creamed.
Where did you get the ' ori shields are as powerful as zpm powered 304 shields' from. The ori are millions of years older than the asgard, to even think the shields were the same would be stupid.
24 ships pounding an ori cruiser's shields, it wont last 2 minutes. Maybe it will take out say, 6-7 cruisers, and heavily damage a hive, but not much more.
Besides, this is irrelevant as an hive ship CANNOT fit through a supergate. Your basis is wrong, so your story will fail. Also, you canot make the supergate any bigger unless you transport the pieces by ships as they can only just fit through a stargate. If you took them by ships, the whole point of the supergate becomes inert. Unless, obviously you have ships in the shipyard being built, then of course it could come in handy.
Holy crap, i just gave him some stroyline.

Totally agreed. They are getting extreme and stupidly obvious. But then again, im about to go make one myself, heh at least mine will have some basis and reality (to stargate) to it.

I just do not think that Hives can go throe the supergate. Hives are really REALLY Large.
