Looks like #4 comes out today, I will go pick up my copy on the way home from work.

I hope they wrap this story line up with the final issue, and don't tease us too much for the next series. At the same time, it's sort of sad to have this run over already.

Trust me, there's more coming. April is going to be a nice month for Farscape fans. :)

(For the record, I'm Keith DeCandido's fiancee.)

Nice! Thanks for the tip. Sadly, my store didn't have this weeks issue yet due to weather. (I'm in that oh so pleasant area of the country being slammed by both a flood and a blizzard.)

I couldn't wait for mine to come in the mail next week, so I went out and bought the issue. I must have went at just the right time too - there was only one left on the shelf.

What a great issue it was too. Nice way to end this first series, and lead us into what is still to come.:)

Cheater! :P

Hopefully mine will be here sometime next week.

I know! But I passed the same comic shop twice that day, and I just couldn't control myself.

I hope you get yours soon. And we can have a proper discussion of it.

Finally got mine. So nice to see Ryg all grown up :)

I thought for sure we were going to find out about shadow dude, but alas, it wasn't to be. It was a good issue, but to be honest, while reading it I kept thinking this would have made a great 3 parter...but hey at least we got the story. Scorpy seemed to be a little of a throw away in this one, but really,it was nice to see Rygel put him in his place.

Also, I got the cover with Aeryn. Initially I was going to grab the other one, but I'm glad i didn't. It really captures her well IMO.

Come on Strange Detractors!

I was so proud of Rygel by the end of this series. He deserves to have his throne back. I just hope we still see a decent amount of him.

As for our "shadow dude", maybe we will finally find out who he is in Strange Detractors.

lol! Has anyone ever read the right's reserved, this is fictional, blah blah blah that's in the copy right disclaimer:

"Any similarity to actual persons, demons, anti-Christs, aliens, vampires, face-suckers or political figures, whether living, dead or undead, or to any actual or supernatural events is coincidental and unintentional. So don't come whining to us."

:D

And oh yeah thanks again for that link. Interesting first couple of pages. Though I'm not exactly sure I'm too keen on Deke having time manipulation abilities if that turns out to be the case.

Aeryn questioning her skills as a mother has been a good theme in this series. It's so in character and so understandable. I like those particular panels dealing with that in those preview pages. Good character stuff there. :)

That's awesome! Glad you were able to get a sneak peak lonestar.

Have either of you guys read the books? The reviews aren't so stellar on amazon, so I don't know if I want to bother.

I've been watching the mail hoping it would come this week, but no luck yet.

No, I've never read any of the books but didn't this guy write one or two of them?

fifth man, didn't you buy one a while back?

I have 3 of the books (not sure if that is all there is) -

House of Cards, Ship of Ghosts, and Dark Side of the Sun. House of Cards was written by Keith DeCandido, who wrote the script for the comics.

They are definitely worth checking out IMO. But, House of Cards is the best.

So I finally got mine yesterday....

Apparently haven't seen the last of that shadow guy who is obviously interested in Deke. I wonder if he will play into Strange Detractors or maybe a series after it.

I thought this issue was good. Not the best one as it seemed a bit rushed with them having to wrap it up. I thought Rygel got his throne back rather easily, but he obviously knew what a fool Bishboy would be about sending all his remaining forces away leaving the planet virtually undefended. At least Rygel finally got to go home and will hopefully rule his people with a better understanding and better attitude toward them....basically it's not all about him, and I think he knows that now.

Yeah Scorpius was a throwaway in this issue. I wouldn't say he was wasted in the series though as I thought he was quite good in issue 3. An event that could be quite useful in future series if Scorpius crosses paths with John and Aeryn again since the animosity has been ramped up again with what he did to Deke. Plus got to see what he was up to...that his ambitions for revenge on the Scarrans hadn't diminished.

I did have to lol at the superhuman growth of Deke. :D Kid went from being an infant to a toddler in the span of days...especially in one or two panels in this issue at the end where Aeryn is holding him. He is drawn way out of proportion to his actual age, imo. Not to mention that this series seemingly picked up right where PKW left off. Deke was still an infant and could not hold his head up much less sit up on his own. Well okay...2/3 months they can hold their head steady (so I could give that a pass) but they don't usually sit up right without support until 6/7 months old. I doubt people think about these things when reading comics, but I couldn't help but think about them because I didn't think the kid was that old. :D

No biggie though considering they seem to have given him some special ability to manipulate time. Not exactly sure I'm sold on that idea yet. Just because the child is born with the knowledge like it was theorized in the show, doesn't mean they have the mental capacity to understand how to use that knowledge. It's not a superpower he has, it's knowledge so it should, imo, take some understanding of it to then know how to use it.

Overall, great 4 issue series. I enjoyed it. When I got mine yesterday I went back and read all 4 issues again. Looking forward to Strange Detractors and hopefully more after that.

Yeah, I noticed the crazy growth too. I scrathed it up to some poor scaling, but maybe Peacekeeper babies grow fast just like when in the womb? Heck, that makes more sense than him inheriting superhuman powers from 2 people without them.

I forgot about that bit of info that was in PKW. Hmm, that's a possible way around that issue...Sebacian children develop faster...even though he is only half....

Eh, whatever. Like I said I wasn't fussed about it, but they got some explaining to do about that time manipulation deal. Though I probably still won't buy it.

Well yeah I'm willing to see where they go with it, but I'm not guaranteeing I'll be enthusiastic about it. :)

My theories:

1. The Ancients can do whatever they want, pretty much, so they did if for some cryptic reason.

2. The Scarrans did it when they had Aeryn in captivity.

3. Scorpius did it somehow, perhaps via Grunchlik during PKW.

4. Turns out that this was the cloned Crichton, and he wasn't exactly an exact clone.

5. It's a natural side effect of a half-human, half-sebacian hybrid carried to term in a male hynerian and crystallized part way through the pregnancy. ;)

That's all I got. :)

The art was shaky in places, probably due to the two different inkers and inking processes. Nice send-off for Sparky; look how he's grown! :D

Deke's time abilities seem to be a natural extension of what we've seen from the show.

1)Crichton had the wormhole information put in his brain by the Ancients, using it to find, navigate and close wormholes, and to build devices able to open and close massive black holes.
2)The Scarrans said this knowledge would be passed on to his offspring, hence their torment of preggers Aeryn.
3) Einstein and the other 'ascended' :P Ancients controlled space/time with thought.

So, give the kid unrestricted access to his inborn wormhole knowledge, and he should be able to twist space/time like a blanket... or suck on it like a pacifier. :D

Hey folks! This is Keith R.A. DeCandido, the scripter of the comics. (TerriO can vouch for me....)

Just wanted to say hi and thank everyone for the kind words about the first miniseries. We will be finding out more about the cloaked guy with the red eyes, uh, soon. :D

And just because Rygel got his throne back doesn't mean we've seen the last of him. For one thing, Ryg is my favorite character in the series (and he's the most fun to write). And he's still part of the family, so neither Rockne nor I have any intention of letting him fall too terribly far into the background. (Besides, you really think the dominar would stand for being a side character for long?)

NP, it's cool to hear from people in the business.

Say, Tommy Patterson was in these threads too. Do you guys interact, or is it sort of an assembly line where you send off what you have to the next guy? I have no clue how something like this works, with so many people involved.
