    Sam Raimi remaking European horrors

Sam Raimi's Ghost House Pictures has bought the rights to two European horror hits, the Spanish film Anguish, and the Danish Room 205.

Anguish was originally produced in Spain in 1987, and follows two girls whose lives start to reflect the plot of a horror movie that they're watching. When A Stranger Calls' Jake Wade Wall has written the English adaptation of Bigas Luna's original screenplay.

Room 205 has been retitled The Dorm and will be helmed by Room 205's original director Martin Barnewitz. The screenplay is being adapted by The Grudge scribe Stephen Susco, and focuses on a college freshman who discovers her dorm room is haunted by otherworldly forces.

Raimi and partner Rob Tapert will produce the movies, while working on the new Spider-Man film, and the supernatural thriller Drag Me to Hell for Universal.
