OK, here's a prime example of something that we wouldn't want to see in the storyline.

Telepathic aliens abduct John, Teyla, Ronan, Rodney, Carson and Dr. Weir. They probe their minds for a suitable setting in which to judge them and settle upon - American Idol. They are then subjected to a virtual AI competition where they are required to sing and then be judged by Simon, Paul, Randy and Number 4.
