    Hyper Navy Ship

What kind of modification do we need to put on a Typical Navy Warship for it to become space worthy?

We now have Asgard Shields and Hyperdrive’s system as well as Weapons.

Will it be possible to modify a Navy Ship to become a Deep Space Carrier? What will it take for it to be space worthy?

For Wraith, hunger burns like a fire.

Tell me, Sheppard, if you found yourself burning alive, would you settle for just one drop of water ...

....... or would you take more?

it's been discuessed... i think you would have to replace the hull with a trinium/steel alloy, rebuild the interior, and reshape the exterior of the ship so that it won't catch on fire while entering/leaving atmosphere.

Which would amke it compleatly ecomnomicaly unfeasible.

the best thing for it is to put shields on it and better sensors on it not the complete asgaRD thing just maybe upgrade it and a small naq generator for the shields

Sell the ships to another country and use the money to finance construction of new 304s. Converting a navy ship into a space ship is the same as converting a tank into a plane : you get a heavy, slow plane that it's useless as a fighter and has almost no armor where it needs it.

You already took a dump all over my approach to this lol.

It would be one thing to make a spaceship that resembled a battleship or whatnot, but as for taking a run of the mill ship and strapping hyperdrives and a shield generator into it, it's entirely pointless.

If you were strapped for resources, scrap the normal ship for it's parts and integrate them into the spaceship, but don't make it the ship itself.

it´s cheaper to make a new ship then transform a navy ship

its cheaper to decomission them all and use the raw materials for other uses

Or just sell off a section of the US Navy to other countrys, trust me, they'll buy it. Indonesia brought a couple of the old 'Perth' Class Destroyers off Austrailia and they're peices of crap. So some countrys would love to get their hand on some reasonably new US ships.

Operation "This Will Most Likely End Badly" is a go.

                  OH CRAP!!!

You need someone dumber than you are.... You may have come to the right place.

Probably best to use a nuclear submarine its airtight and all you really need is bigger water storage tanks and a life support system and it atleast has more survivability than a surface ship (Which are reasonably airtight to stop Bio/Chem and nuke fallout killing the crew).

-Replace the engines (Don't expect alot of manuevorability)
-Change torps for missiles (Or use a missile sub and loose torps entirely)
-Change or modify nuke reactor with Naquadah (I don't know how much modding it would take)
-Replace sensors entirely (Sonar won't work in space change to radar and it will)
-Airtight airseals capable of locking onto spaceships
                    -Thrusters
                    -Lifesupport

Also will need to have a stronger hull to keep out undesirable peices of space crap. But it won't be to important if you just want to get it to space. Also don't expect any atmospheric flight any time soon.

Be easier to build a new ship though.
if it wasnt for Carters new plot shield we would be dead

its like strapping 302 engines to a car...

Wouldn't a sub be a bit easyier? It has a resilient hull to withstand great pressure (and presumably lack of), it's airtight and it has plenty of places to put weapons.

Also, what do you think would be required to make a true ATV (space IS a terrain after all)?

You could do it, but it would just suck at everything and excell at nothing.

Here's a news flash a nuclear submarine requires obscene amounts of purified h20. In the ocean this is no probably since the 8000 or so gpm water plants can boil and condense that purified h2o from the ocean. Where do you get water in space?

Something like the 304 looks no harder to build than a carrier.
