Anubis and Lord of the Rings

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, I watched LOR: Return of the King and LOR: The Fellowship of the Rings (first & third). I couldn't help but note that on a superficial level, Anubis resembles the Nazgul.

Anyone else notice this? Maybe he's a NazGoa'uld?

Anyway, I thought it was cool. The head Nazgul from LOR: ROK reminded me a lot of Anubis.

Yeah, someone even mentions that on one of the DVD audio commentaries. Can't remember who or which one, though. I think it was Peter DeLuise.

Yeah I can see the resemblance, they do look alike. But then again...anyone wearing a big cloak could look like Anubis

Of course, you know what the OTHER name of the Nazgul is...

        WRAITH!

Yup, I see the resemblance... but then again, in my black cloak I look like a Nazgul (anyone know where I can get a fell-beast? )

In all honesty, without the shimmering puddle that keeps Anubis in his solid state, the Ringwraiths don't have nothing on him.

Exception made for the awesome armored gloves of the Nazgul, they rock Anubis' hands-within-the-cloak stuff.

There is only one thing we can ever truly control: whether we are good, or evil.

That's caused from when you try to rephrase something and end up making it worse by forgetting one word from the previous sentence.

I noticed the resemblance between Anubis and the Nazgul some time ago... and the Naz-Goa'uld.

I can just see it now...

                    ANUBIS:
                    No man can defeat me!

                    CARTER:
                    I am no man!

Meep, let that not be the means of Anubis' death.

Well, I'm well aware that Anubis isn't the only "unkillable cloaked enemy" ever, but a nice little list of 'em would be funny.

Up 'till now we have Anubis, the WringWraith, there's also "Death" when not depicted as skeletal (just a cloak), who else?

Now all Anubis needs is a horse or a flying dragon!

He once had a huge mothership. Does that count?

Wait. Did Carter really say that line?

                            Jack: Is mental illness contagious?
Daniel: This has been disturbing on many levels.
