Spoof Episode

Certain members of my family are big soap opera freaks. They are very dedicated to All My Children (the show William DeVry is now on!) But once every year they become totally glued to the television screen watching the Spoof Episode (official title I do not know).

All year they take requests from the public for this episode, which is completely detached from the continuity of the show, for fans to see exactly what they want to see. Often the hotties have multiple affairs, some characters might get killed off, etc. It's generally the most-watched show of the year. I've thought about asking Joe Mallozzi what he'd say to a show like that. They are usually remembered very fondly. Everyone could get what they wanted. Sam and Jack could camp out in the guest quarters, Teal'c could go on a rampage, etc.

What would you think to this type of show, and what would you have in it?

No. Absolutely not. In no way do I ever want to see anything even remotely APPROACHING that sort of idea. It'd be: Sam & Jack have sex. Jack and Daniel have sex. Sam and Jack have more sex and maybe even get married on the side. No. No. No. No. No.

The opportunity would be so massively abused that it isn't even fun to consider.

the whole team doing a wizard of oz spoof scene, costumes and all.
and i could continue with this for a very long time...

It works for the soaps, but it wouldn't work for this show. That would work about as well as a musical episode of Buff...

Luke finally gets his sweet revenge on Daniel. :P AND HE KILLS JACK!! :P:P And he tries to kill McKay but McKay manages to survive... barely. Keep him around for more torment later.

Sam and Luke end up together instead. ;)

Siler and Chevron Guy manage to save the Earth from destruction, all by themselves, AND Siler gets to use his Big F***in' Wrench AND he doesn't get hurt. ;)

Star Trek spoof - Teal'c and Warf going at it in some kind of violent ritual that must ocurr between their species every 100 years or so..
X-Files - Mulder and Jack - dry wit and sacarsm reigns, with Mulder totally thrilled that the conspiracy to conceal alien visits actually DOES exist; meanwhile Scully and Sam could discuss writing a new book, "The Rules for Work Based Relationships"...
Star Wars - Obi Wan Kenobi and Daniel write a constitution for planetary alliances...
Farscape - Eryn Sun and Sam go clothes and weapons shopping together... Rygel has an appetite for symbiotes.. Jack and (Ben Browders' character -- I forget his name) get drunk together off world and get into a bar fight

Interesting concept,but I tend to feel it would be impossible to please everyone,no matter how many fans sent requests! (No change there anyway,IMO ;)).

SG-1 writers have usually included a "Funny" ep anyway,among the more serious plotlines.Sometimes they've been good,others,eg, "Avenger 2.0" haven't appealed to me at all !

Other posters may disagree strongly with me,but I'll say it anyway!
I feel there's no real need for the PTB to film a "Spoof " episode,as there's been enough messing around with the characters and storylines already !

Anytime I want to view SG1 in jest or explore different possibilities,there's a whole mass of Fan Fiction freely available. :D

and then thor shows up and wonders why his secret boyfriend jack hasn't been calling lately, and when he finds out and thinks that daniel killed him, he and daniel have a fight to the death, where they play the same music from the episode of star trek (amok time) where kirk and spock had to fight to the death.

Forget a spoof episode. There's enough material there for plenty of hilarious fanfics, especially the Sam and Scully "Rules for Work Based relationships" ;) and Jack and John Creighton(sp?) getting drunk off world.

Actually, I always enjoy the funny SG-1 eps. They rank high on my list of favorites.

Chevron Guy, aka Walter Davis, is only the best character in the whole show! I'd love to see an episode focusing on him! Also... who is Siler (bad memory, sorry... recognize the name, though), and who the heck is this Luke (Who I seriously don't remember at all)?

Mini-Jack gets a word of this and comes stormin' in, and Jonas returns and asserts control over the SGC. Thor learns to limbo, Baal applies for a name-change, Kinsey gets crushed by the iris upon trying to escape ( :D ) from the President. SG-1A finds SG-1 on a planet over the rainbow, complete with Oz, and the munchin land.

That's a fine idea for an ep, but it would get abused. I'd like to have a musical ep personally.

Blue Heelers (popular cop show in Australia but I don't actually watch it) recently did a live episode where they had three sets and the cast all had to memorize all their lines and timings much like a stage show (dare I say it....a musical?) and had to dart back and forward between the sets during the ad breaks.

Anyway, I'm thinking since Stargate has such a WACKY cast and crew, if the DVDs are anything to go by....why not put them on live and watch the mayhem unfold.

Sam would pash O'Neill. And Daniel. And Teal'c. And probably Hammond.

Jack would forget all his lines and start making them up, Janet would show up just to rate the guys' puff n ruffle when Anise steps through the Gate. Daniel of course would only be puffing and ruffling until a convenient opportunity to shove her into an incoming wormhole presents itself as payback for coming on to Jack...

Then everybody would pass out from the Jaffa gasses released by Teal'c's posterior. But not before O'Neill quips, "Did something crawl up there and die???"

Seems to me that we've already been getting spoof episodes every year since at least Window of Opportunity. Wormhole X-Treme, The Other Guys, Avenger 2.0 and Citizen Joe all spoofed the show in varying degrees of extremity. Needless to say, none of those episodes rank very high on my "can't miss" list. When it comes to Stargate, I wish they'd stop spoofing and start taking the show seriously again.

Replicarter captures Ba'al, and makes a Repliba'al. Enter the quantum mirror...Repliba'al meets normal Ba'al and alt. reality Tok'ra Ba'al, and they defeat Anubis together. Alternate Reality Fifth (still sweet) joins the party, and writes Sam melodramatic adolescent love poetry. They solve the reppies' "flaw" together, and offer the solution to Replicarter, who declines in favor of Galactic Domination. Sam decides she's "not ready for a relationship," leaving Pete, Jack, Felger, McKay, Davis, Fifth, and all the Ba'als brokenhearted.

Sam is cleaning out her lab when she finds this vial of blue stuff, dated from 7 years ago, that she lost and had forgotten about. She tests it, comes up with an antidote, somehow manages to contact Aris Boch, learns his people's secret, and makes all of Earth resistant to being taken as hosts; Aris falling for Sam in the process. In a weird twist of irony, immediately afterwards Daniel learns he has cancer and is unable to accept a Tok'ra, so he dies. Jack and the rest of Sam's jilted lovers, including an alternate reality Martouf who comes through the mirror to find his reality's Tok'ra Ba'al, go fishing together. Felger compliments Jack constantly on his fishing skills, though none of them including Jack has caught any fish. Jack pushes Felger in the lake, and Daniel returns naked.
