weaponized beaming tech

do you think it would work? a beaming array just like the one we saw in "thors chariot". it could be used to beam in darts and then just delete the stored data. or maybe it could be set to constantly sweep around the ship to beam in enemy weapons fire too.

im pretty sure faster moving objects would be hard to beam into the buffer.

And if speed isn't a factor, they could store missiles into the buffer, and just beam a barrage of missiles close to the ship.

if its a powerful beam the 304 could run on top of say a hive and use the beam to sweep and it will take a fair amount of armour like the one thor did but he took hataks stuff i think

sweeper in the front and at the back have bombs falling out or even nukes

We have done something simular with prometheus in the past where we beamed a skyscrapper into space, so from that perspective it is possible

Why bother though...I hate the beams but with them we don't really need any other weapons. Apart from the odd occasion they get knocked offline. Wraith jamming tech may stop us being junks of their hull of anyway.

What was the point in inventing missile's when artilery worked so well. Simple to progress technology why shouldn't we progress weapons tech, eventualy there will be a race resistant to the beams and we will be screwwed in spaceship combat like we were against the ORI at the start.

Beam weapons are arguably the most advanced weapons out there, possibly second to drones. We can't progress much further especially seeing as the tech we're using is thousands of years a head of us anyway. The Ori were not resistant against the beams...I can't see anyone bar possibly the MW replicators being resistant to the beams. TBH if there's a race that powerful out there we're screwed either way. Agreed that the Asgard technology is thousands of years ahead of us probably looking at tens of thousands. Anyway although it is beyond us it is possible to still make modifications to it, Rodney is occasionally able to modify ancient tech and so to sam with Asgard so it is possible. Not to extreames like taking technology forward but making small modifications only is plausable.

The Beaming as seen in Thor's chariot has always been a plot hole for me, we dont know what exactly happened with the ships and jaffa that where beamed away and its never been used since...surely its a good weapon to use
