Hey all. Just wondering now that the series is coming to a close, how does anybody think the series would have progress and played out differently had the world been told of the stargate program at the end of the Stargate SG-1 episode " The Lost City"?

Atlantis would have been destroyed because they wouldnt have gotten reinforcements from earth in The Siege in season1 since earth would be in chaos after the gate was revealed.Daniel to Thor: Wait, you're actually saying you need someone dumber then you are?
Jack: You may have come to the right place.

Hmmm.....well aside from the Starbucks and the IOA being 10 times worse I think after all the choas subsided, well to a point, we would have something similar to the UNSC from Halo, the United Nation would become stronger having it's own multi-national army and fleet. The people and governments of the Earth would be forced to make peace with one another and work together towards defending the planet from the Gauld, it wouldn't be easy, not by a long shot. It would have been interesting seeing the power struggles between the different factions of an unwillingly united Earth and how it effected Atlantis. Earth would probably have had a much larger and more diverse fleet, maybe even having international ship yards built in neutral locations as to avoid any one country from having too much control of earth's warships. It would have been cool to see how all the new alien tech would be intergrated into normal life and seeing peoples reactions to it, maybe a couple offworld colonies, and maybe some wicked WWII esque massive ground battles against the Gauld and Wraith backed up with several earth ship battle groups. I think by not letting the cat out of the bag about the stargate program crippled the scope and epicness of the stories that Atlantis could have told.
