Energy Based Weapons and defenses against

i know this has probably been brought up before...

but why not design a hull that can absorb the energy burst from energy based weapons and either channel it into a ZPM, or else channel it into another energy based weapon that can be fired off (preferably right back at the attacker) to bleed off the energy the ship cannot use.

unless of course the weapons are not energy but rather like plasma... then it wouldnt work.

but it could work against even ion based weapons.

thoughts? ideas?

The Replicators did this, but they chaneled the energy into their Subnet.

It's possible wou could infuse a ship's hull with iron pathways and achive the same effect, instead directing the converted energy into our own weapons.

1: ever heard of ceramic polymer?
2: a large conduit network of Superconductive Naquahdah would do the trick. divert the energy to a buffer.

find out how anubis made his kull armour and use the core to find out what its composed off

and then make thicker more denser versions in hull format and cover the whole ships over the trinium hulls

Well I doubt it would work, and the buffer could overload. Also Anubis soldiers could be killed by ship weapons, so it would work for ships, I guess.

plus, you also have to look and see that they were eventually able to make a "plugin" for the p90s that shot energy burst able to take out a kull warrior.

we would have to not only create a ships skin able to absorb the energy output, but also something to channel it all to that could take it without overloading.
