Aurora Class Wings

I've just came across an image from "Travelers" of the Aurora Class ship featured. I've noticed that the wings at the back can apparently move. See here

See the pistons and the hinges on the wings-this must explain how the ship can land without breaking the wings as I've always questioned how can it land without damaging itself. Next thing you know an Aurora turns up over Atlantis doing bird impressions

It could be, though I think the Ancient would be able to do it without them.

We never seen them in use before, so we really don't know what their use is for.

For all we know, they could be a spoiler of sorts for atmosphere flight, movable armor, or just for show.

They could be for atmospheric entry, would provide stability when entering the atmosphere at high speeds?.....

Or, they could be used to cover drone ports. if you look, you can see small door thingys under the wings.

they could be some sort of drag fins like in star wars episode 3 or maybe they wanted it to be a finalist in "the Universes Next Top Star Ship Model" show
